While Emma seems like a very nice young woman and I don’t fault her for building a career out of her RUclips stardom, ultimately, this is not healthy content. We really shouldn’t be watching other people simply live their lives. The phenomenon of parasocial relationships between content creators and content consumers is not good for our society. Especially, when one side of the relationship uses their position to be a living advertisement for lifestyle-based goods. I see it as an extension of humans’ unsavory fixation on celebrities, which we will have to outgrow collectively, as a species, to advance.

I feel the exact same way about Chicago. I’ve lived here my entire life, went to school in the heart of downtown, and basically now work in finance right off the loop (main train line).
I’m pretty jaded about it, and as much as I do enjoy the opportunities in terms of work/school and the music I enjoy tours here. It’s boring to me. I want to know why people love it so much lol
