Good times, the last bit of Love in Paradise still hits me to this day 😭
the emotion is reaaaaaaaal!!!
you aint ready for her next song
“Last I checked, goddesses can’t die!” That is the only thing that gives me hope
Athena isn’t dead she is severely injured
@@Animefan24 I think she is, I just think Zeus will have another headache and revive her
Calypso also hasnt checked in like, however long is been since she was cursed so shes not exactly a reliable source;; But in the original zeus beats athena so badly for siding with the greeks that she takes 10 years to recover, its possible that jorge fiddled with the timeline and made the beating happen after the war already ended and instead for siding with odysseus
I mean, Ares would be the most likely to know and even he asked if she was dead 😅
The scream for Athena gets me, every time. And Ody was trapped with Calypso for 7 years immediately following Zeus dropping the nuke on the ship
Chiron: "Zeus packs enough power to make mortal hydrogen bombs look like firecrackers."
@@DontObliteratetheCommenter 🤣
A lot of people ask why Zeus is so mad she asked him to free Ody. Calypso hints at it in her song "No one can come or go, my island stays unknown". You can't reach the island, you have to be SENT there by the Gods or similar. And Zeus was the last one to interact with Ody. So Zeus almost certainly SENT him to be stuck with Calypso deliberately as a punishment knowing how much it would hurt him to be away from Penelope and stuck with Calypso's constant advances. He's mad because Athena is telling him that HE made a mistake and shouldn't have punished him that way. At least that is how Z-daddy would take it.
I like your argument I also wish to add she didn't do herself any favors winning Zeus's favor with how she won Hera's vote. Directly calling out a personal failing of Zeus in order to win Hera's favor 'never once has he cheated on his wife'.
I think the plan Zeus had in mind was to set a game he thought was impossible to win, thinking the other gods would be insurmountable, and gave her the "or me" line, thinking she would break her pride and grovel to him once she gave up, letting him revel in her defeat. Instead, she basically said, "You're more of a pain to deal with than all the other gods combined," + the Hera comments.
Zeus had it against Odysseus since the beginning, to me its pretty clear that he wanted to break him, ever since he made him kill Hectors son, probably because he was observing him throughout the war and was annoyed at his resilience or something idk.
@@comandantethorn9929 Zeus was on the Greek side in the war and wanted Troy wiped out completely, Ody was just an easy way to do that. In the Odyssey he has no desire to go punish Ody after the cow thing, Helios has to blackmail him into it by threatening to move the sun to the underworld if Zeus doesn't punish them for killing his cow.
@@comandantethorn9929 Let's imagine the alternative timeline rq. Ody doesn't kill the son of Hector, the rest of the Odyssey stays the same, only he comes home, Old and tired, to the burnt down ruins of his former kingdom, burnt down by that son of Hector.
if i remember right zeus was mad since he gave athena 2 options , convince the 5 other gods or only convince him , if athena would try to convince zeus only he could be like ''oh i'll be a generous ruler and eventually give in'' making him look like a good guy but since she went against his thinking and convinced the other gods she pretty much made a fool of zeus
@@pmookie Whaa? Holy wow I never would have thought of thought of it like this
@@honeykub Not to mention her argument to convince Hera just straight up brings up Zeus' Bad behaviour. The reason it won her over is because she's married to Zeus and he's notorious for sleeping around with mortals
Telemachus and his stand : Quick Thought
my boi wins these!!
When your stand is a literal god
🎵Is your plan to *stand* around?🎵
13:44 In the original Odyssey, Calypso SA’s Odysseus basically for 7 years. HOWEVER, I would like to add that we don’t actually have any solid proof that it happens hear. It’s entirely possible, especially with the way Jorge’s Odysseus acts, that for 7 years he was evading her and looking for ways to escape (especially because at the end when he’s sad none of his issues mentioned have anything to do with Calypso).
I believe jorge confirmed calypso does not sa odysseus in epic, but still someone keeping you captive for 7 years and trying to force a relationship on you every day is not good for the mental health
@@jackofastora8962 Oh absolutely, but I don’t want people to think that this Calypso is THAT Calypso
Honestly she seems even worse if she didn't SA him, I mean think about it, she may not have done that to him for those seven years but she essentially tortured him psychologically instead. The worst part is that the implications is that she doesn't mean to do it, she's just that desperate for a connection. Me personally, a character who unknowingly made someone suffer for that long is a more compelling one than one who commits a vile act like SA, the former is acting cruelly unintentionally even though she truly cares about him while the other is committing a vile act for their own satisfaction.
@@theheavenlyfb4071 That’s not even worse. You’d be psychologically tortured either way. If anything they’d be close together.
@@jackofastora8962 To be fair, she has no choice on the keeping him captive part. Hell, she's even more a prisoner there than he is.
I say this with my whole chest the reason “he began to hear their voices” was because calypso said open arms
Neil illustrator just dropped a "God Game" animatic and it is incredible and I think he would really enjoy reacting to it.
Have you checked out his webtoon? Covenant?
@@DontObliteratetheCommenter I have not because I never even knew about it. Thank you for telling me about it.
the end of love in paradise STILL to this very day gets me all teared up
Yeah, that and him singing about his mom hit me so hard
Mr Jalepeno has a lot of therapy bills to pay
@@DJOrbitDecker XD I need to know why he’s called that
@@honeykub I think in a lot of his update videos he gives himself different names, seems to be a list of different names he calls himself. One of his latest ones is "Gumpus McGee"
LOL reliving this right before Vengeance Saga!! Lets goooooo!!
@@QuincyLK it’s to gooood! Wait when is the next one again?? Oct 31st???
Yes indeed!
@@honeykub The live stream is the 30th and the wisdom saga released around midnight after the stream
Since epic jumps around a lot and isnt a 1:1 story, there is info that Zeus before the war...beat the absolute shit out of Athena for setting it up and it got her in a 10 year long coma before waking back up. Now Athena is in the story, helping during what will likely be the upcoming sagas but we might not see her for a while.
We definately need you to see some of the best animatics of this saga now
Calypso (In the Odyssey) actually forced Odysseus to sleep with her for 7 years. She is actually disgusting and sick.
WAIT WHAAAA?!?!?!
@@honeykubEven without doing that in this retelling, she still kidnapped Odysseus, held him hostage and tried to pressure him into sleeping with her when he clearly said no multiple times.
And in some myths she and Odysseus have twin sons, Nausithous and Nausinous. But after Ody leaves, she turns the boys to stone because she can't bring herself to love them anymore without him there.
@@kittycatzuka that’s worse 😭 noooo
While this is partly true, it also depends on the myth, because in a lot of tellings, odysseus did it willingly, there was no force. He cheated on Penelope
But in also other versions, calypso was basically driven insane from being alone on the island so long that she was desperate to have somebody stay with her, and so she forced herself on odysseus. The hope was she could make him fall in love for her or bare his children and make him feel committed to stay.
It's still sick, but it makes her go from monster to a tragedy
18:14 That one Hephaestus fan in crowd.
I felt and shared every tear you shed…
"Last I checked Goddesses can't die" :)
why did the light go out then? T^T please tell me whyyyyyyyyyyy
@@honeykub cause Zeus stopped shooting lightning
Don’t worry about Athena. Because last I checked goddess can’t die!
but what if its another God that takes a shot? T^T
@@honeykubEven if Zeus can not kill another god as well. The only thing he can do is to throw other gods into Tartarus and make them never leave. Athena is his favorite daughter so he will not throw her into Tartarus.
They had no reason to make the end of love in paradise that sad
Athena is a goddess so she shouldn’t be able to die
DIDNT EVEN TRY TEQUILA
Thx for the reaction 😊
10:44 It makes sense that would hurt her because if they’ve been friends for years then when she says “You’re not looking for a mentor, I’m not looking for a friend!” She’s basically saying “I’m already your mentor and you’re already my friend.”
Seeing your reaction seems like you have listened to the rest of the show is it somewhere?
i have yee! we watched them all on stream ^^ I recorded them but we are trying to fix the audio before they are posted. hopefully 0w0 fingers crossed. thank you for watching this one!!
