- It’s been a good year since I last did a Viking asmr roleplay, so here’s a good-old-fashioned rune casting to offer you some guidance and relaxation.
You’ve trekked up a mysterious fjord cliffside to the hut of an enigmatic village elder; who speaks like a British person doing and impression of an American Person doing an impression of a Dane or Generic_Nordic_Character_Trope. Engulfed by the trippy smoke of his home, you’ll find out where you’ve been, where you are, and maybe where you’re going. Enjoy!

🎙 What is ASMR? 🎧
ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is synaesthesia of the soul. It’s a relaxing feeling, it’s a tingling down the spine, or it’s simply a sleep aid. Whether it’s being ‘held’ by someone you have confidence in, or ‘looked after’ by someone with authority, or just feeling ‘safe’ with someone you trust, it uses audio-visual triggers to enable you to let go of your worries and stresses - even just for a bit.
📽 What is FPC? 🎞
FPC (first person cinema) takes all the relaxing elements of ASMR but has much more of a focus on immersion and the suspension of disbelief. It’s kinda like being the main character in your own short movie, with popular figures you know and love, or entirely created worlds - just for you. There won’t be any visible mics or traditional triggers in these videos, and they will seem more unintentional than the usual ASMR videos - but they are unique and relaxing experiences designed to transport you to different places, worlds, and times.

Strange ASMR idea, but I wondered if we could get a fantasy-style roleplay where a monster hunter is gathering materials for his next hunt-dissecting a monster on a table, discussing the monster and its abilities, boiling and mashing herbs, putting things into bottles, sharpening knives and cleaning tools, the crackle of a fire nearby. What if the viewer were the hunter’s apprentice and we’re helping to prepare the tools and needed items? Bit of an ‘out there’ idea but it crossed my mind nonetheless.
That would have been such a fun timing with the monster Hunter DLC (sunbreak was the name?) which was released like a month ago.

Ok what the hell. A few months ago I was really diving into the Cold War and stuff and RUclips recommended your Soviet asmr videos. Now I’ve been replaying assassin’s creed Valhalla and resparking my love for Norse mythology and you post this. This is epic.

The mountain ambience alongside the fire crackling is very relaxing and so is listening to this Viking. Amazingy done Jim.
I appreciate the videos where a fictional character is giving advice etc. and it is SO relevant to your own interests or concerns that the words are highlighter yellow and somehow more real than any of the other surrounding statements. Little epiphanies that feel like they are keys slotting into some previously unknown lock.

I don't know why, but I think being a viking suits you perfectly for some reason.

I love harsh environment (especially cold weather) roleplays and Jim never fails to impress. Freezing to death and submarine roleplays are some of my favourites. Also, cryogenic roleplay part 2 would be a godsend but I'm certainly not complaining about the superb quality of your uploads.

Just an idea because I think it would suit you and your style of storytelling - a Witcher based FPC? Geralt, Dettlaff, Vesemir, Regis? There’s some great characters there with lots of dimension.

I loved the overall ambiance of this video, the wind, the soft crackle of the fire, set the mood. The accent is wonderful and your appearance awesome. I admit I fell asleep a few times and had to rewind but isn't that the effect that is hoped for? You constantly amaze me with the chameleonlike ability to morph into the character you are portraying.

I have to admit though, I’m struggling to finish it in one sitting. The combination of your low gravelly voice and the crackling of the fire makes me fall asleep every time. You say your videos are weird and you don’t know if they’re still ASMR, imho, they seem to be working pretty well.
