This might be one of the only countries where this is the case. The Hague is the capital of the province called "South Holland" this is true.

Nice video. Too bad you recorded it one day when the weather was so bad. The Hague is no Amsterdam but is more fun than you see on this video. Come in the summer when all the terraces are full. The Hague has very beautiful and stately neighborhoods with lots of greenery, parks and beaches. Amsterdam is the eye-catcher of the Netherlands, but as a city as a whole, The Hague is more beautiful and fun. And also in The Hague there are plenty of eateries with food from all over the world. I recommend that you also visit the neighborhoods outside the center. Thanks for your video

@@IslandHopperTV yeah, you need to dedicate (at least) a couple of (two) weeks between Amsterdam, and Den Haag to fully experience/cover, and emerse yourself into the culture, and everything else these (two) cities have to offer!
I would enjoy this travel vlog if I were to visit den Haag to find a way through the annoyances of an historical and cultural rich city to make my way to the beach where I could have a beer.
The Hague is a tale of two cities. It has two city centres. I am afraid you mixed them up. The Binnenhof, where the government is, is one. The Grote Kerk including the Grote Markt is the other. It has an interesting history. Its proper official name is 's-Gravenhage or the Count's Hedges but these days Den Haag will suffice. I live ten minutes walking from the Tweedekamer (the Second Chamber of the government). Luckily most tourists remain in Amsterdam and they are welcome to it. At this time of year it is very quiet thanks to vacation time. The city centre is car free with plenty of terraces.
