Would be awesome to see a devel 16 update video, even if it’s just talking about the trials and tribulations of making it, and if you ever got paid for it 😅

I thought I was seeing things when that V-16 popped up. Then I realized I have an application for that! Seriously. How would it handle 6-7 minutes of run time at a little lower power levels? Unlimited Hydroplanes. We are running an old Allison we are boosting. The turbines the competition uses make a bit over 3k before getting an N2 violation. Thats gotta be lighter than the Allison!
If you're serious I think his business email is in the About section of his youtube channel, but I dunno how much funding it would take to make another 16 cylinder. Worth a shot though!
Love the videos lots of knowledge to be learned. Always wondered tho Have you ever built or thought about building a 410 sprint car engine my family is big into sprint car racing always wondered if you ever ventured to that kind of motor before
Perfect time to make me jealous!! Got my 78 AMC Concord (5.9l, 5 speed, 8 3/4 rear,) out for first time this year yesterday, and if I'm lucky, it has 450 horse :( I need more.
It's for the ventilation fans that he runs while Dyno tuning. It's the little switch he always flips before doing a pull and flips right after the pull. Lol it's not affecting anything
@@COYOTE_N8 You don't get it. The 2 fans on the wall are exhausting air from the dyno cell. The engine at full speed is pumping air out of the dyno cell. There isn't enough make up air going into the dyno cell so the engine outruns available air. This pulls air backwards through the exhaust fans closing the shutters. The end result is like an engine air inlet restriction. Basic physics.
So much fun! The V-16 was my favorite to see run but I wish we could have another with a little better audio. That was an air starter to start it with wasn't it?
Very nice ,we are spoiled to see such a great finish result that we many many hours in the making, so when I put 100hp nos kit on my mustang, at 3 thousand rpm it felt like 100 hp at 5000 rpm felt like 40 hp
I always wondered when you're talking about the engine rolling over and you not going past that point. If you want to maximize area under the curve don't you need to go past that point so when you shift it falls down in a spot with more power? We're not making that kind of power but we always rev ours at least 1000rpm past peak so we maximize area under the curve while racing.
I know I started watching your videos way back when the announcer Brett (I think?) interviewed you! Then your old pro charger videos, & I think the video where the flywheel on a Ford blew apart?
Great videos ,only thing I see is the twin turbo setup with turbos facing each other .. won't they scavenge from each other during boost ? Apart from that love your work !
Starts this video with the Devel16 motor 😁 Steve made the only part of that car that was ever properly made and performed as claimed. Curve management discussion at the end,.. Should also make it far more driveable between tracks.
Oh that's crazy I found you during the deevel 16 project... I kind of sucks we don't get to see that all over the place more like when they first were talking about it but at least you got paid for your part I hope that was the most impressive part to me anyway
Why do so many setups run the turbos with the turbine/compressor axle parallel to the crankshaft instead of at 90 like on the Lambos and that sandrail SML? Seems the typical drag race setup has many more elbows to plumb everything. I'm sure packaging sometimes makes a difference but some of them it just seems it is for appearance so the compressor wheel is exposed like the ProCharger types. Nothing wrong with that but having the exhaust straightish into the turbine and intake straightish out of the compressor is pretty cool too.
Great video I love it I didn't relize you son was as young as he is 23 and building 3 and 4k horse power engines just think what he will know in 10 years. Wow I'm jealous...lol

Shame he didn’t show the dyno all the way down to off idle ,I’d really like to see what kind of useable street power it has in the normal power band area that’s used in the city and the freeway ..1k hp at 4K rpm is nuts but that’s the peak range for a high rpm Diesel..
I was checking all day looking for a video from you guys. I had actually played a few old videos earlier because most other RUclips channels pretend they are so perfect and it’s easy to build big power. Those types of shysters irritate me
The Devel 16 was the first video I ever watched of Steve, didn't realize how long ago that actually was.

Steve seems so natural on camera even at the begining
4000hp is so hilarious to watch and think about. I had 300hp in a Starlet in 2005 and I was king of the hill.
I recall 300 hp and 800TQ in a turbo diesel ram stock ,now it’s gas HP numbers with 450hp and 1500tq in a stock truck
300 in a starlet still rips today tho🤘🏽 thats what im builing next!
