I strip all my circuit boards using a heat gun. Not that they are alot of value but i get what i can it just makes it easier to get rid of the stuff that is basically garbage. I am saving the striped boards goingvto experiment on seeing how much copper plating can be recovered from them. Using the heat gun to strip is quick and pretty easy. Just heat all the solder connectors and just bang all the components off into a plastic tube. It is best done out side though some of them tend to put off some fumes/smoke if they get extra hot.
Ive used that technique before as well. Fumes are a big issue with that one. Unfortunately it does not work too well this time of year here in maine...lol.. especially in an unheated garage! Certainly one of my "go to" methods for things I dont want to damage though like the eproms etc. Thanks!
I love this tech! I'm a glassblower, so was set up with a vent before i started scrapping. If clipping board corners, definately take the gold corner chips. but not w/o a vent. i don't use the tub tap tech, because it sticks to any glass i might have on my bench. i put a C clamp so the board stands up hands free, heat gun the underside, and a steel pick prys off the chip topside with the other hand.
@@travismiller5548 thats a good idea with using the C-clamp i dont have a practical c-clamp i just hold with pliers in on hand while holding heat gun in other hand. If something needs picked put i just get my wife for an extra hand.
That sounds like a good idea, I just put my boards in a tote for later. Let me know what experiments you do with the copper extraction from your boards. I am thinking about the same thing but just waiting to get my boards cleaned first.
@@jeffreyyeager1398 same here my weather has been poor to get outside to work on them. I dont have a huge amount but enough to see how much metal can be recovered. I hope to use a HCL Peroxide bath to desolve all the metals then refine it out of solution.
ive hade exploratory sugry not even close to the same thing tho. But thanks for keeping me sain for now keep them coming been watching since u started. Thanks!!! From Scranton Pa
I could.... but there are some things I do not feel comfortable messing with, one is gas like propane . I got the stuff to make one but then backed away and decided on buying a premade one.
Great video Moose! I will keep my eye out for digital projectors.
Great video Moose.
NICE, I am still searching for the ceramic gold chips. I will keep my eye out for projectors. Thanks for the video Moose.
Thanks moose it helps to know what is inside that stuff
Thanks Moose! I've always loved your videos brother.
cool i had one projector prepared for my tomorrows scrap stream 👍👍👍
Just the word FREE!!
got my attention
lol... youtube analytics says thats a word i should put in my titles, along with GOLD lol
Moose Scrapper that’s. Rite 😁👍
Free😁
Works like a charm
Got my attention right away
Yeewwww!
All those little screws are real pain. I swear the engineers plan on hiding one or two just watch and laugh at us scrapping.
was hoping you wold get a dlp chip o was great to see it,i have stripped out a few but only got one so far
Nice , I have at least 40 pounds of mother boards I need to send them off to board sort , I have 30 lbs. Of low grade , time to sell !!!

Thank you for watching!! Hope your recovery is fast!
Great video, keep them coming! Poo
Yes. Then boards really are just Scrap nor or less
LoL. Exploratory surgery😱
👍👍
Looks like magnesium.
Could be, those non magnetic grey metals still kind of leave me scratching my head, zinc, magnesium, alloy of any of them...
You can make your own foundry

@@moosescrapper5928 I thought would you tell you about making own
