Got a really good mag shot pistol early on from the Neon gang war quest line. It was my main weapon for ages until I reached a high enough level for other weapons to match the dmg. Insane early in a playthrough.
I will be verifying I installed these mods on my trickshot. It is by far my highest DPS weapon at lvl 115 (with no pistol perks). Using a mod that shows DPS it is at 8173 with a DMG of 432. Getting to lvl 60 and acquiring advanced versions of these weapons makes them crazy powerful. Thank you for all your testing over the years.

I have a legendary one in punch version that does like 303 damage and I only have a rank on the pistol skill and 1 on ballistics. If I upgrade those, this thing is OP af. It already is. Just installed the hair trigger on it. If I ever feel like going pistol only, I use this bad boy.
I have used an advanced Magshear since early game thanks to the hopetown vendor looking the wrong way while I was browsing his shop! It has been exceptional for my rifle build. Might try a pistol build if I ever go NG+ cheers
If you get an advanced one you are set - it was much better than Vlads (rare) or Keelhauler ( I got it as legendary but with regular dmg) I later got a legendary advanced one with volatile rounds (highest single shot dmg for me so far) it also has the space adept perk and shotgun spread. It doesnt acrually shoot with a spread - it just has limited range.
Could you do a guide on magazine locations? I'm looking at articles online and the info is good but not always complete or a lot to go on. It would be nice to have videos as a reference. It might be a lot of work though, It's up to you if it's worth it. I'm looking for UC Defence Manual 4 right now. These ones are pretty great, "Slightly increases magazine size and weapon bash critical chance for all Allied Armaments guns." I have 4 right now and my Pacifier has 15 rounds and my Breach has 10. With all 5 the Breach should hit 12 and the pacifier will be 17-18. That's pretty awesome since without them, the Pacifier would have 7 and the Breach would have 6. Edit: Breach hit 11 and Pacifier 17
It's too bad that the MagShot can't have a binary trigger like so many of the other handguns. I have to hand it to Bethesda, they did well with the binary triggers. You can just dump your entire magazine almost as fast as full-auto if you wish, or have access to a very fast follow-up shot after the recoil reset. One of my favorite handguns in game is a Regulator with extended magazines and a binary trigger.
It's good you've moved on from shitguns. Oops. Shotguns. There's 1 good shotgun... and it's good because you can turn it into a rifle. Just saying. I never had a good time with them. Pistols are disgusting when combined with Phased Time. Everything... Everything is disgusting when combined with Phased Time... but stealth+pistol+phased time+mag weapons= bad guy apocalypse.

The shock band seems to have area effect and makes it easy to hit bystanders, companions or mission followers
Depleted Uranium is clearly superior than Armor piercing, but armor piercing has less perk requirements.

One thing this has on the other is it can be grabbed at the beginning of the game. Can go get Vlad's pretty early.

The shock attachment has a chance to stun.
I got a legendary version with Instigating, Hitman, and Demoralizing. With a supressor it's a very good weapon for ship clearing.
