I’ll never understand how they can sell them at this price point but I’m not complaining!! Heck of a deal!! Thanks for sharing!!
Well just ask the China haters, BigJ, they'll be happy to tell you. This is a great piece and will definitely get some carry time.
The queens are great budget users with the 440c steel.
The steel upgrade and 10 bucks? Take my money.
These are made in China
Lookin forward to trying this one out! Looks like a good, friendly carry size! i grew up with the stockman pattern being in my elders pockets so they hold a special place in my heart and my pocket! Thanks for the in-depth and overall excellent review!
I'm very fond of Stockmans as well. Thanks for having a look, Will.
I really do like the 440C. Thats a great knife for under $10. I ordered the winterbottom bone version for $10.58? I am really digging the quality for value in the Queens. Thanks for the great review TK!!!
That's a real good value also. Thanks, Tiger.
Brilliant review! I think these look brilliant. Hopefully, pick some of these up. Thanks, TK!
Hopefully Heinnie can get them. Thanks Martin.
That's a pretty little red knife and 440c for less than 10 bucks is pretty decent. 👍Thanks for sharing and Cheers!
Thanks, Toad. Under $10, What's that all about, eh?
First of all ... CONGRATS on 4000 subscribers Thrifty Kaniffy 👏 🎉. Thanks for the share of the Queen stockman.
First to mention it Byron. A true fan! Thanks so much for your support. Be sure to catch Slippy and I live this Sunday 10:30CT.
Great review Thrifty! This one’s going on my wish list. I consider myself a “bottom feeder” knife collector and your reviews are right up my alley. Great closing stills slide show as always. Don’t know of any other knife reviewers on RUclips that take the trouble do do this. Keep it up!
Yes this one is hard to pass up if you really need to stick to a budget. Thanks, RB.
Great knife for the price, buy a couple and give to friends! Live Long Prosper and Collect Your Own Way!
Thanks Stan, it would make a nice gift.
The red handles are a nice feature, still worth collecting even if not perfect, thanks for the review, TK.
The perfect carry, not the perfect knife. $10 made me holla'.
Buck made their reputation on knives made w 440C. One website consulted on knife steel even called it the first Super Steel. For outdoor knives, I like it much better than D2, which seems super popular right now. It's more rust resistant and easier to sharpen IMO.
I think a significant part of Buck's success was also a proprietary heat treatment as well. Good steel + excellent heat treatment = a very good blade.
Proper heat treating is very important. I imagine that modern technology helps assure better heat treating in most cases.
However, when the fit and finish is only so-so, one might naturally wonder about something like the heat treatment since it's not ready apparent to the eye.
I took a blacksmith class in which we made a chisel and a small blade from high carbon spring steel from old farm equipment rake tines. Our instructor even showed us a way to differentially heat treat the blade, which was very interesting. The edges were much harder than the rest of the blade to make them less likely to snap. The non cutting edge of the chisels were softer than the edges so that they didn't chip when hit with a hammer. We tested our finished blades by trying to sharpen them with a file. Most of our edges were pretty resistant to the file but not a good stone. One might not always want such a hard blade edge, but the exercise was to learn to heat the blades differently, as once the dkill was learned the tempering could be adjusted to the need.
So I'm wondering if there an easy way for an At Home Regular Guy, or youtuber, to check the heat treatment of a blade?
there are different heat treats and something like cryogenic is better but more costly, and obviously impossible for the layman/diy to do on their own. The best way to check your blade's heat treatment is literally to hammer it and pry it to the point of breakage, it's the best way to do it... Or you can measure the HRC at different points of the blade to get a rough estimate
All true YellowDog. I like 440C and I don;t mind D2 either. As I do a decent job maintaining my carries, a little dab of oil is all that's required.
An absolute steal at $10 a no brainer in my books! Thanks for the look at this one John
Slippy my man, you'd do well to pick up one of these little users. Thanks for the support, and props to Richard at HH, he's a legend.
Good looking knife! Cheers, buddy!
The red is a nice shade. Cool knife, great price.
Beautiful!! 440C stainless for 9 dollars!! That is a great deal!! Thank you John!!
You bet, KJ. Bargain in red. Couldn't pass it up.

Nice user . 👍 Great price . 👍👍
Thanks for a fantastic review .
MB, hard to go wrong for the price. A great choice for a daily user.
Nice great looking little Stockman! Have a wonderful weekend 👍
You have a great Sunday, Mike. Thanks very much for checking out the stockman.
That’s a cool Little piece I like that lineup there made very well I’m impressed with queen budget pieces…… thanks Johnny you be safe out there 😊
Thia little beauty is gonna see some carrying time, Pete. Hope you're doing well.
Very Nice pard ... Gonna order myself a few ! Than you for a honest review 🤠👍👍
Thanks for having a look, Bill. Let us know how you like it.
Like nice bright red scales, not saying I don't like or buy darker colours but the brighter scales are a nice touch when you're out in the woods.
It sure make it easier to find them when you drop it in the foliage. Bargain! Thanks, JK.
Last week while checking on Queens sawcut series I saw this one. Thanks for the up close and personal...will be adding.
Thanks, Terrance . 33% cheaper on CKW. Why? Dunno, don't care, snag one.
Nice little user for the pocket, not perfect, but that won't influence the use one bit. 440C works fine for me. Thank you John.
That's right, not the perfect knife just the perfect user.
For the price you can’t beat it very nice
Thanks, Turtle. It's a great user at a great price.
What a attractive little 🗡 , ive had several Queens, they never seemed to stay in my possession long as others liked them also
It's a cool little stockman. I'm definitely gonna give this one plenty days of tote.
I got one because it said it was red smooth bone on CKW but it’s plastic. Still a nice smaller user stockman with 440c instead of the much softer 440a found on most other RRs and Marbles etc.
Mine has nice pulls and action. The only flaws are that one part of the handle is a little shaped like they sanded it down too much on one side and the shield is raised up and off center. I might pop these covers off and make my own and remount the shield. I got some deer antler laying around that would be nice.
Yep definitely delrin type plastic. Thanks Griggs.
Another great review John 👍🏻
Nice little knife at a bargain price 😎
Queen are putting out some nice pieces in the lower price bracket.
Thanks for sharing buddy 👍🏻
For sure, Sean. A great budget beater, with some pizzazz. Thanks for having a look.
I like Queens. The two I have, the sawcut Wharncliffe and canoe, are spot on. Certainly as good as Rough Ryder.
I agree Jack, and the upgraded steel is a nice touch too. Thanks for watching.
I think Queen really are giving Rough Ryder a run for their money when it comes to the best budget brand.
Great review TK, thanks for sharing 😁
Yes, mainly due to better steel for me.
Thanks for watching, Stu. This is a real good value.
Yes, nitro. Agreed.
Nice knife. Great price.
A fantastic bargain, Ray. Thanks for watching.
That's nice looking covers on this one. A nice color and shine to it. Great video as usual!
Thanks Randy I knew you'd enjoy the blood red color. Have a great day.
@@ThriftyKaniffy I do like blood red honestly lol but this is more of a cherry red.
Friendo
Yea probably, but that didn't fit the narrative. @@RandysWSG
@@ThriftyKaniffy 😁😄😁
Sweet looking user and always a sharp edge guaranteed.
Thanks for having a look. A really great value knife, BD.
Great review. It definitely is a good deal for the price.
It really is, Dean. $10 Baller.
Hey TK 🍻
I like it overall, great value for money, 5th pocket carry 👌
Thanks for sharing,
Atb Gus 👍
Small stockman are just the right size for that smaller secondary carry. Thanks, Gus.
I'm a big fan of 440C. That looks like a nice little knife! Did the price, it's not going to be perfect. But I'd rather give on the fit and finish to get better steel.
Nailed it! Thanks for having a look Yellow.
Nice looking knife
Thank you, Jeff.
@@ThriftyKaniffy you're welcome
That's a great value for the price
I think so too ElPhoenix. 440C and a great pattern.
woot I like the low dolla balla's
Heckuva bargain, Anthony. Thanks for checking this out.
I don't have a small stockman yet, 10 bucks and 440c you say? Maybe I have a few queens due in the collection.
I think it's a great deal. Thanks for checking it out, astaschak.
Good lookin blade
Thanks Chad. It's a good value user.
Like small stockman for carry when not using another style. They have a D2 stockman with better materials that are good for hard usage.
Lots of stockman choices out there, Panz. I have a few in D2 as well. I like the Old Timer 34OTH, good stuff.
@ThriftyKaniffy US-made Schrade?
Bought my old man one years ago. He lost his original in the snow, then I found an "old" one new. All the new ones are Chinese that I see.
@@Euripides_Panz Yea you can find older USA made ones on eBay, sometimes new old stock, sometimes used.
@ThriftyKaniffy I don't mind used, myself, per se. I can pretty much restore lightly-used knives, but that one was for a family member. I used to carry a Boker delrin plastic handled stockman for work, then I dropped it and the Tree Brand disc flew off. Didn't hurt my feelings as much as when someone stole my Boker Speedlock 2 with red inserts.
I don't know how you accidentally put the nail nick for the sheepsfoot on the wrong side. Someone was asleep at the wheel.
Not an accident so much as poor blade height. Thanks, Chris.
Where are you getting them for $10? eBay has them for $20. Amazon does not even carry the brand Queen.
Chicago Knife Works, Frank.
For 10 bucks, you got the perfect channel knife,TK! Awesome for the price!
Pretty good match isn't it? That Zippo Peanut is pretty close too. Thanks, DD, have a great day.
Elaborate felt lined box :) Good review, don't like the style of knife. Maybe it's a European/ English lack of appreciation of American cowboy 🤠 blades.
It's a very versatile user. It's not gonna be as elegant with multiple blades. Thanks.
I like some Queen knives but I own 0 and would never buy one, simply because I dislike the name. I'd much rather use a Case or a Buck
Alright, Chase whatever works for you.
These are made in China now right?
SMKW/ Blue Ridge has produced most Queens in China, with a few recent ones being contract made by Bear & Son out of Jacksonville, Alabama. This one is China made.
