Hi Tom. I agree with everyone's comments. We've all made mistakes, learn and move on, and it's big of you to post it. You're blessed to have a great spouse and co-pilot like Sharon. She gives good advice and council...she's a keeper! As President of Chapter 320 in Watertown I want to thank you and Sharon for continually attending and supporting our Food Fest Fly-Ins. We have two more fly-ins sceduled for 2023 (Aug. & Sept.) and hope to see you and Sharon there. We love our aviation community and we appreciate your patronage and the exposure you bring to us and our events! Your video is excellnet and your editing skills and B-roll is beautiful, I really enjoyed it. FYI- the yellow biplane is a Marquart Charger flown by our good friend Luke Lachendro. Luke is a really great guy who's a member of our chapter and staunch supporter of EAA. See you at the big show in a couple of weeks, and thanks again for supporting Watertown Wis and our chapter. Don't dwell on silly mistakes Tom. I had a much bigger blunder when I was training for PPL back in the 90s. It bothered me so much I stopped flying for 30 years. I finally tried flying again in part because of you and your channel. Tried out a Bushcat with Aerosport and I'm planning to get my Sport Certificate as soon as I can. Don't get discouraged buddy, no fault no harm. Lots of Bushcat adventures to look forward to! Hope to see you at Osh!!
Though it bothered me when it happened, I let it go pretty quickly. Made for a fun video I thought. See you at the big show. Good luck in your flying endeavors.
Happens to the best of us. As a student pilot, I took off from Leesburg, VA, to fly around my parents home in Charles Town WV. Before I knew it, I was looking down at a town with a myriad of RR tracks. I had no idea which town it even was! I must have had an unexpected tail wind and went right by Charles Town and on to Cumberland MD! Of course, back then, I did not have digital maps, IPads nor smart phones though! "Let it go!"
You didn’t miss the field… you were overflying to scan for traffic! Your wife has the perfect reaction “Don’t worry about it” mistakes happen. Fly the plane and don’t be too hard on yourself
Bob is right. The fact that you're willing to put yourself out there for public ridicule, says a lot about who you are, as a pilot! I commend you for admitting your mistakes!!
Hey Tom ; Dont sweat it. As a student on my second solo I flew in circles for 20 minutes until i realized I was 10 miles from the airport. Keep up the good work. Love your video's
Your wife is right, as much as we want to beat ourselves up over a mistake when it happens, the fact is there is still an airplane to fly. Dwelling on the first mistake could lead to a second mistake, and THAT might be the one that gets you! Later, when calm, you can debrief on the ground. Good topic.
We've all done it 😂 I've flown an angry circuit before now wondering why everyone was flying a different one, character building fella. Nice vid by the way Mr Orange
You always make the greatest videos man. And this one is really awesome. I liked seeing all the other planes landing. I notice the little extra things you add that make them stand out. Like how we hear the noise of the engine while on taxi but when you lift off, everything just goes peaceful. Soft music and a beautiful view. Hope to see ya at Airventure if you are going.
That was all original Rotax 912 sound from my engine both on the ground and in the air. You’re reacting to the track equalization of said sounds. But I guess not everyone can recognize an EQ’d track.
The thing is, without cutting the high and mid frequencies of the engine the radio talk is more difficult to hear. So what you’re hearing are most of the low frequencies. Of course, my intro spot always highlights the full Rotax sound in all its glory. I love the sound. But for cinematic reasons I keep the cabin noise quieter.
@bushcattom And it was a busy day. The good news is you won't make that mistake again! I've had my share of mistakes, and the really bad ones seem to float around in my subconscious...
I am not a pilot yet, but seems just like any mistake learn from it don't dwell on it. That yellow biplane that took off infront of you was a cool plane. Just a couple weeks till oshkosh

Thanks Eric for your comments. Watertown is becoming one of our favorite haunts. See you at AirVenture!

Sharon looks kewl in her Aviators.
🙂 It's O.K., at least you found the airport in the end. Enjoyed the film alot! Thank you for posting.
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching.
The fact that you're so hard on yourself when you mess up suggests that you're actually a safe conscientious pilot.
That’s very true. I really am a good pilot! 😉

Yes, thank goodness for the wisdom of my co-pilot. She’s awesome.

Only a man of extreme humility would be able to do it. 😆
Great video. You figured out what you did and was able to correct it. How many times do people zone out driving a car? Plenty.
Yeah!

I’m not sweating anymore. I’m good now. Thanks for watching.
What happened to you is called wisdom you are a fine pilot
@@davidnoland6796 👍
I would love to be able to say that I haven't ever done that.
We all should form a club.
lol... happens to all of us... i did the same thing on one of my solos.
Seems I’m in good company.
@@bushcattom yup although you could have just said, well i was overflying so i could see the windsock :D
@@WX4CB Yeah yeah that’s it!
Another good day flying.
Anytime there’s space between your wheels and the ground.

Truth be known I let it go pretty quick. Wife told me so. But I thought it would be a good angle to address. Thanks for watching.
Don't sweat it mate. You are extremely lucky have such a wise and calm missus. She gave the best advice possible while in flight.
She did. I love her. Probably saved my life a dozen times.
We've all done it 😂 I've flown an angry circuit before now wondering why everyone was flying a different one, character building fella.
Nice vid by the way
Mr Orange
Thanks O.
Interesting drop tank looking thing at 11:57
Isn’t it though?
In my humble opinion the best place to cross the airport is right at mid-field - Good work BushCat Tom.
Thank you Darrell

Human factors, everyone faces the mystery sometimes, no one is immune, just learn from it and try not to repeat. 🤷♂️
I will not repeat. I will NOT repeat!
Got the aviate part down at least lol. Love everything about your videos.
Thanks
We would all be so blessed to have someone like Sharon to be our encourager.
You speak truth.
You should be proud of the Rotax sound and not generate an artificial engine noise.

@@bushcattom I guess I couldn’t tell, but I do know the sound of a Rotax and it sure didn’t sound like one.

What altitude where you at when you flew over?
Pattern altitude. Scared me to death!

@@aviatorjoe4153 You got that right. For example, you’ll never see me exit the plane before landing ever again!

It’s gonna be the best Osh ever Tom.
Can't wait!
