For drone fueling I often just set up a network of fuel drones as needed, and then 1 of any pair of ports will have a companion port that only exists to bring it fuel.
I use 4 drone pads from a single mk3 miner on a pure bauxite node to transport aluminum around, if you have a drone ok each pad to double up then you get a pretty constant flow
Batteries are pretty good actually. Here's why. 1. Provides the same speed with packaged rocket fuel (37m/s) 2. Only slightly lower fuel value than rocket fuel (Battery: 6000MJ, Packaged Rocket Fuel: 7200MJ) 3. Much more simple to produce only requiring bauxite and sulfur. The thing about oil is that coal, sulfur, and nitrogen nodes are always far away from oil nodes. The only instance I would use Rocket Fuel is if I already have the infrastructure for production already built but that is hardly the case since I mostly just stick to basic fuel and just making more of it.
@@rekales5826 like the other guy said, blue crater lake is prime candidate, I even made 600/min of ionized fuel, 600/min of rocket fuel and some leftover turbo fuel from less than a single pure oil node (ignore the like 2000 coal lmao
This is a crazy take. Rocket Fuel does not require coal (coke recipe). It's easy to get sulfur and nitrogen to virtually every oil dump. Rocket Fuel absolutely dominates batteries. It's arguably the best power source in the game, and you can make it easily in enormous 2000-5000 quantities. At the moment, Rocket Fuel recipes and the diluted fuel recipes that precede it are almost definitely the most overpowered recipes in the game. One large oil plant at one oil deposit, plus a medium aluminum factory, can solve your power + drone needs for the whole game and map.

Drones are simple. Every time you want to output something with drones, feed it into a powered drone port with no drone. Every time you want to input things with drones, build all the drone ports you need - all with power and drones - and then one more for the drone-power-source you're using. Kickstart the power-source input port by hand feeding it power source items. Connect its output to the power source input of the other ports. Done As long as your output drone stations never have resident drones, your ports will never lock up waiting for some other drone to empty. Drones do not work in sequence, so there is no Point A->B->C->A; there is only (Point A -> B)+(Point B -> C)+(Point C - > A), which means all 3 points would have to have a powered, unmanned output drone port, a powered and manned fuel input port, and a powered and manned resource input port being fed by the Fuel input port, for 9 ports total.
I implemented this setup on my save file. I noticed that every time I log off and back on (dedicated server) all of my drones stop at their source depot. When i log in I have to travel to every source depoy, all over the map and jumpstart the process again. Anyone else having this issue?

I did use. I just built one big batteries factory, and was distributing batteries with a few ports to other ports around the whole map. But now it becomes indisputable more convenient. In many cases it may be possible to produce fuel just next to target consumer port.

its better to transport quickwire instead of the ingots, they stack to 500 instead of 100
