Diablo 2 - Original vs Resurrected (2000 vs 2021)

- Today the remaster of Diablo 2 was released, twenty-one years after the release of the original, and I show my comparison video here. Blizzard considers "Diablo II Resurrected" a remaster and not a remake, because even though the graphics look new with new models, animation, effects and lighting, the old engine is used as the basic framework. So you can switch seamlessly between old and new graphics. Also, an attempt was made to keep as many design decisions from the original as possible, even a known bug. There are some new comfort settings, such as automatic sorting of the inventory, automatic collection of gold, clearer item comparisons, a better automap. The cinematics have been remodeled, animated and rendered, but keep exactly the style and dynamics of the original (if you want to see the original cinematics, check out my video with all Diablo 2 cinematics).
The Lord of Destruction add-on is also included in Diablo 2 Resurrected. If you haven't played the best part of the Diablo series yet, you can buy the remaster with a clear conscience, because getting the original Diablo 2 to work on today's PCs is not that easy, even via Battlenet (it took me some time).

D2 has tcp/ip and a pc lobby system, to me the classic look better، plays better, has a huge modding community, there's no competition.
All d2r ads is more updated graphics which means nothing in a a-rpg game, and 60 fps.
Stable 30 fps on any pc > 60 fps on a modern system. Don't forget much slower loading screens which plays a big role in farming.

Is that all it is new graphics? I play Diablo 2 at least once a year for a few weeks at a time, I have not played 3 in years but 2 I last played in July. Most remakes have new quests, characters mods, will this even have mod support? This looks like a good crash grab for people who never played the real game, but it sure does not seem to offer anything for a Diablo 2 vet that really does not mind a couple black lines on the sides of the screen to keep the ratio right.

I have watched video and played the game myself. you have more space in the chest. you can auto pickup gold similar to D3. the gamble shop has a refresh so you don't have to keep click back on the shoper and you can buy the same item from that shop without it going away. you can move alot more better when it comes to hit and run with bosses. as for online use. I'm not sure. they still having a bad issue with it and still trying to fix it. but offline is just fine. so it's been mostly single player for a little while now. besides that it's actually kinda worth getting.
This is not a remake, it is a remaster.
@@CLOYO Okay re-read my original comment but replace where I called it a remake, with the word remaster since it should be clear that was what I meant, and it sill holds up to what I was actually saying. I was comparing it to games like Baldurs' Gate Enhanced, and not like the Bard's Tale remake.
You are arguing semantics here, when you should be arguing the context of what was said. Then you might have something useful to add.
@@colmortimer1066 a remaster is just a graphical upgrade thats all this ever was, look at halo 2 anniversary, its just an update for new fans
I want to buy the original. I have downloaded the original, but they ask me serial key. I ask the Sopport how to buy the original, and that *** ppl from support gave me a page to buy this *** Ressurrection. I hate this Ressurrection one, and that *** support who dont let me buy the original Diablo 2.
You can find your key in your Blizzard account page under - Games / subscriptions i think. Scroll down till you find D2 and there should be serial key too.
why do you hate it it’s pretty damn good only reason why someone would hate it is because they can’t hack on it and we don’t want you on resurrected anyways so have fun
