Respect to whoever decided to start these dev streams & keep them going throughout. It's always very interesting to learn about many area's of development, the complexities & see teases of upcoming updates. Made better by the fact all people involved are likeable & passionate.

I agree, I look forward to hearing from the management team and Jayne. Nobody takes the time to dedicate to running a professional panel in a community dev update. It highlights the issues faced and all the projects underway in such a large software product. I applaud the effort and the result that we enjoy.
Nobody goes through the KPIs, the top issue tickets, etc.
If a company does, then they stop because it can show you to be making no progress or not addressing concerns. (Fdev with Elite Dangerous for example). MS/Asobo has not stopped and is the gold standard for transparency and community involvement. This is on top of the fact that the rate of updates and improvements is staggering.
Absolutely agree, and they are consistent.

It's amazing how many people trash Asobo. I thought after FSX that the flight sim franchise was dead. Then they brought it back and it is amazing, but so many people just take it for granted. People don't realize how fortunate we are, and by the way Asobo has been consistently updating, and keeping us in the loop on the future of flight sim. They have actually listened to community feedback which is so refreshing. I for one am grateful and appreciative for all the hard work they put in.
It's a shame that Microsoft pushed them into releasing such a poor quality product initially though. But yes, credit to the team for the beautiful sim it has become.
I understand your thoughts … the human being never will be satisfied in the whole way,… always will be people who push beyond common sense.

@@mro9466 The flight model is excellent. I suggest you watch Emanuel Hagen's RUclips videos. A330driver He is a first officer on the Airbus A330 and knows his stuff.
As far as I can tell, the people who complain about flight simulator are wildly ignorant about either aviation or simulators.
I can’t thank this dev team enough for all their efforts.

One easy way to bring the world to Life is simply add a lot more "people"/ human avatars.
Not just within airport terminals or inside planes cabins but flying a ga plane over a baseball, football or soccer fields & see people on fields. Walking on sidewalks especially in big cities.
Visably see people walking around the blocks on sidewalks.
It will add much needed "scale" & height seeing tiny humans below.
When I fly past statue of Liberty most times it feels like a toy model because it feels small. But seeing sight seers & visitors walking around the base might create that missing scale piece we automatically get flying in real life.
Bring a "little" Life to this sim with 2024.
Thank you for continuing to make this the best flight sim ever. We all know things aren't perfect, but having been a player since FS2000, I am constantly amazed by how good we have things these days. This time next year, with 2024 and all the new payware planes coming out it's going to be another big leap forward too. Exciting times.
As someone that had FS 2000/2002/2004 & until Nov 2020 hadnt played on FS since 2007, then Im now on 2005 hrs after 3 1/2 yrs of flying the 747 & until the WTT AAU2 update the Salty 747. Thankfully the community modded the 747 into Freighter early on & in 2022 modded the "Model" into a Freighter. Since that point Ive been flying Real Cargo routes.
Ive been able to fly places & see sights from the Flight Deck that I never would be able too in real life.
Thanks for everything you & that goes to alot of the Community.
This is so nice to have such regular communication / exchange with both MS and the devs. That's kind of unique in the gaming industry ! Thank you so much and please maintain this !!

Please rework the sdk to allow users to attach multiple jetways to different doors on our aircraft. Or to select which door our jetways connect to. This in my mind should not be hard to implement with a few changes in the jetway attachment logic, however adds so much more in immersion.

I was usually a GA flyer..... but I spent some time learning how to fly the new A320 from Ineos and it's great.

Allow xbox users that paid full price for the sim to have "Sliders" in settings for objects rendered in distance.
Add Manual Caching for higher detail of certain areas we fly often.
More times than not i would choose less FPS for better details.
I have yoke, thrust & rudder pedals for xbox. I also have external storage. Allow manual chaching for folks with extra external atorage to cache areas of choice to save.
A couple of simple suggestions that should be easy (relatively) to Implement since the data is already available and packaged in the AIRAC data:
Flesh out and improve the default ATC for full IFR or mixed IFR/VFR flights, particularly in the area of SIDS/STARS. (KATL examples “… expect the NASSA 2 RNAV Departure…” or on arrival “…Descend and maintain 12,000ft via the OZZZI 1 arrival…”) and also use regionally/FIR accurate transition altitudes and levels instead of the FAA/US 18,000’msl/FL180. I’m in the U.S. so domestically it works out fine, but when flying to overseas destinations on ETOPS/NAT track flights this would be a cool improvement. I know one of the difficulties is getting the azure engine to correctly (or at least semi-correctly) pronounce the names of the departures and arrivals since the spelling is often truncated or transformed to match the 5 letter name of the RNAV waypoint or intersection at the terminal transition of the procedure, or it’s something odd that’s based on localized language… but there must be some creative compromise here that can be hashed out. 🤷🏻♂️😎
Also, and I’m sure this one isn’t as trivial as I suspect or it would have been done already. But a huge improvement would be adding more voices and accents to the ATC controllers. I know the OpenAI architecture and service algorithm azure currently uses can synthesize many different accents and something like 400 voices since it’s utilized for things like generating spoken translation during text to speech, I know that one variant of the service only has 6 voices available… but even 6 would be better than just Aria and Ryan (:

If you see the "crash free sessions" out of context, it could be a metric of how many players are crashing their virtual aircraft.
Always excited for these City/World updates and enjoy flying around and marvelling at the work that they do. Looking forward to checking out the Washington DC update once that comes out as well.
Just sad that there hasn't been any updates in Africa yet. Plenty they can do around Egypt, Suez, etc. for a North East Africa update, and some cities around Southern Africa. Guess it all comes down to demand unfortunately - and most Flight Sim players are probably in North America / Europe / South East Asia.
With respect to the simobject limit, in VR, its especially heinous because you lose your menus as they are objects, whereas in monitor play you're just losing taxiways and non-critical things like that. It would be great if those were always secured an allocation so your limit never means losing critical items. Also the fact that it impacts the VR menus suggests Sebastian might be wrong about there only being a per-addon limit. Its impact the main menu being able to be drawn.

Thanks for Flight Sim 2020, and especially thank you for it being on Xbox. Before, I'd only flown something like Falcon 4.0 and now I have ~250h in 2020 on Series X. Love zipping around in jets and starting cold and dark in airliners. Here's to the next 4 years in Flight Sim 2024 and beyond

For PC users: Set cockpit shadows to 4096 in the cfg and wonder why ASOBO doesnt allow us to set it via in-game-settings... (works great with RTX3080)

The point is for most 4096 works well without hitting frames and the OP was asking why that has to be set in a config file rather than a menu setting.

As somebody from Windhoek, Namibia on the African continent what I want see is developers of the sim atleast try to Create versions of Capital cities of All African countries. I hope it is doable. I dont expect them to develope the villages, but at least get the Capital Cities right. It is an eyesore to fly around what is supposed to the capital of your country, just to painfully realize it is a random place with identical buildings plugged together, labelled as Windhoek.
Please, you have users all over Africa in their thousands. ❤

Jorg wasn't exactly subtle about more info coming at the Xbox Showcase on Sunday. A trailer with a release date i would expect then more info at the FS Expo at the end of the month.

They are cutting server costs - that is why the LOD is reduced, downloading is slow, there are stutters and why it varies by region and between sessions.
The answers about weather API and marketplace freeware would make the politicians in DC blush! 😂

About the weather radar, it's simply not working right. I don't see how the sim couldn't generate it by simulating an actual radar based on the weather in the sim, should be very doable, right? I don't see how we'd need to access the API, the sim itself should be able to provide an accurately simulated radar image based on the weather data it already has access to.
Currently, the weather radar in the sim gives a top down 2D view, for it to be accurate it needs to be a scan from the aircraft's perspective in 3D space.

Consoles and their issues with the lack of power to run game like MSFS really hindered/ruined the development of this game what it could have been...
Series X runs it just fine.

That's incorrect. SU15 is exceptional on my Series X.
@@theaustralianconundrum Allor a it means you don't use enough msfs to notice the differences, there is a huge difference and decrease in textures after the Xbox update where they literally said that to decrease crashes the resolution will be decreased and it was done aggressively, there is a whole topic in the forums recently opened where more than 50 people for now confirmed the change after su15 👋🏻

That's why you didn't deal with MSFS 2020 and left it with a bunch of bugs, because you were dealing with MSFS 2024!
And now, MSFS 2020, has that bug when opening, that it stays with window mode! Horrible!
I get the feeling that the planes in Microsoft Flight Simulator2024 are going to have the same quality as paid add-ons, because the companies that make those paid add-ons are already making planes that will already be directly inside the new simulator.
It's like PMDG put their 737 in the vanilla game.
To date no other simulator has done this and this shows that Microsoft Flights Simulator is in another league in this regard.

[Xbox Users Warning] Many people are reporting big problems with FS, no more access to the store and updating the game. So-called problems with the game's online service system. Be very careful because if you are faced with this you will have more to do Nothing. And your profile will no longer be able to access the game service because of disconnections - loop connection. aparently even PCs are subject to this
So, the weather, ATC, and several other questions/bugs/issues remain open as far as 2024 goes - more of the same in Screen Shot Simulator 2024, with a career that won't matter, because ATC and weather (vital to be at least somewhat realistic!!!) don't matter enough to DO something about it. Meto blue is given the authority to make MS/ASOBO appear to be totally helpless. This whole circus is full of HYPE and EXCUSES even many years into this...still all about screenshots; not much else. So much talk -data this and data that but saying nothing of value to us (all that "data stuff" is their problem NOT our problem!!!), and accomplishing even less, except screenshot material🤢🤮
Meteoblue responded to my recent emails regarding no hurricanes, storm cells or tornadoes..... Their reply. "We deliver weather data to the Microsoft MSFS2020 engine in a 30 km raster, then downscaled to visuals showing local weather conditions. However, the 30 km raster may not display some hurricanes, small thunderstorm cells, or tornados, and this is a technical limitation that would require a massive data volume increase.
The same technical limitation applies to using a TRUE weather API (which exists).
Please enquire with the Microsoft MSFS2020 team on what the plans are."
