Cars have to have an annual MOT after they are 3 years old. So if you buy a new car you're exempt for 3 years. Love your Welsh accent btw!
I learnt to drive in Cwmbran which when I was there was the no 2 Roundabout town in Britain, after IIRC Milton Keynes. Average mileage in Canada is about the same as in the UK, 9000 miles. Traffic lights here, and in the US are same as in the UK , except there is no amber & red to 'Get Ready'. In Canada though, and very occasionally in the US, we have amber warning lights a few hundred yards ahead of the regular lights. If you see them flash, you will not make it in time, if you don't see them flash , just keep going. They work really well on fast dual carriageways that have lights!
Oh my goodness, Cwmbran is full of roundabouts! I had the option of doing my driving test either in Cwmbran or Newport and I chose Newport for that reason!

I live in Carmarthenshire - omg ppl park literally everywhere! Even almost on roundabouts! And you always have to wait for people coming from the other way/you have to rush.. it’s a nightmare 😅

Hi Ysis! I’ve found the really best Waco defrost windows is to used “WARM” water, that is hand warm NOT I repeat NOT really hot or boiling water it will crack the windows. Warm water will warm the window sufficiently to get rid of ice on the out side but more importantly on the inside too. If you use the spray it will defrost the outside and then because it’s alcohol based will evaporate quickly and freeze your breath on the inside. Warm not Boiling. I use the water out of the shower into a jug for pouring.
I have lived in UK for a year now and have found similar suprises about roundabouts, parking and middle lane hugging. Also I was suprised that the roads can be quite narrow.
I have Estonian (Europe) driving licence and usually my spouse drives everywhere. I can drive here with my licence, but I'm still planning to take some driving lessons, because I'm quite anxious about driving here and traffic on the other side 😅
