- Pablo and I went back out in the M Engineering tuned McLaren 720S to meet with the owner of the AMS TT Audi R8 after he got some transmission upgrades and more power. Both cars are very impressive in their own right.
Thank you to the R8 owner for the runs. Maybe we can do round 3 next time we meet. Race gas and 2nd gear during the day time?? Hmmm...

Thank you. I am not sure about the next steps just yet. I just got tuned on E85 (1 day after this race) so I am gonna enjoy that setup this upcoming season and then think about next steps later. I’ll make a video soon showing the difference in power from MS109 to E85. Blew my mind! 😳
@@BoostITFORward I can’t wait to see difference, e85 tune by m engineering? Also do you gotta run the tank empty before filling up e85 or can you just switch from gas map to e85 map while still having a little bit of gas in the tank & vice versa??
Yes, M Engineering tuned the car on all fuels. I have map switching - easy to switch maps. But when running on kill, whether it’s to fill up on E or MS109, you should always run the 93 fuel out as much as possible. It’s a hassle just driving around to get the gas out, but it’s playing it safe.
@@BoostITFORward what about switching back to pump map with E or race still in the tank? No hard accelerating?
That’s ok. You can run 93 tune while having race gas in the tank (as I did the last two races). You can also run 93 tune if you have E in there, but only a few gallons of it. Can’t run 93 tune with a full tank of E. You’d be asking for trouble. Couple gallons of E with 10 or so gallons of 93 on 93 tune is fine.
Good video as always .. Really impressive that the 720 was still able to pull on the TT R8 like that .. can’t wait for it to get warmer out for traction. Your gonna be even more of a problem in Mexico..

I hear some shops are using the motec ECUs with the 720S now, those active traction control systems work much better than any stock computer can do. I’m sure you’d benefit a lot from one as you increase your power
I only know of 1 other shop that’s using an aftermarket ECU, and it’s a Syvecs.
@@BoostITFORward Have you checked out Ninjaneering aka Collin Murphy on instagram? He's calibrated a motec ecu on a Calvo-built 720S. Last I heard, the car was making 1300-1500whp and will be at TX2K21. I believe the owner of the car is mr_driyagi on instagram.
I know what you’re talking about and I saw a video of that car idling, but that’s about all I saw. I look forward to seeing more of that car with the Motec ECU. 👍

audi did well being AWD from a roll, which favors RWD. your 720S is incredibly gorgeous, i truly mean that,and is certainly the quicker car. is this the limit for mods for you in the 720S ???

Thank you Brian. The car isn’t tapped out, but for me, it is. Only so much you can do with 3200 lbs and rwd. If I feel the need to go faster, I’ll be going back to AWD/DCT platform, but for now, I am really enjoying the 720S. 👌

@@BoostITFORward I m not so sure. Should be close that Zr1 is a beast .Very low 9 second car for sure as is yours .Who knows a glory run maybe you guys see an 8.9 at over 150 mph.
@@camirocz now the Zr1 has 1000+ whp but back on its old pump gas tune that made 850 whp was able to gap a stock 720s and so I’m sure this race would be legendary but I’d give it to the Zr1

Fabspeed , I tried reaching out to your tuner but they don’t have a tune for the Mclaren GT yet , had to go with Fabspeed for everything .
I am sure M Engineering can tune your car. Make sure to ask them.

I got Fabspeed Catless Downpipes and tune on my Mclaren GT only about 100hp bump Over stock
Will get M Engineering tune and 1300 injectors this summer with VP109
It should wake up the car

Most of you won’t know the pain of pulling up to a “stage 2” 720s in a 700 hp car only get get left like I was standing still. The sheer acceleration of those cars is life changing. Videos will never do it justice 😭😭

Gotta respect those McLarens. I thought the AMS Tuned TT Audi R8 would put up more of a fight. That engineering is something else from McLaren. Makes me wonder how my Tuned 16' E63 AMG S from Renntech would do against both cars. McLaren I know would smoke me, but I can probably eat that R8 up like I do with 99% of other cars out on the road.. R8 Owner needs to go elsewhere for a tune

@BoostITFORward question, what power are you running to the wheels on pump gas? And was the inlets really worth it? If I plan to keep my 720s on pump only not race gas
I never dyno’d on pump gas but I am assuming it’s about 820 whp. The inlets are are not a power added but more of a safety precaution given that the stock inlets fail (plastic screen inside of them separate and can potentially damage a turbo). All you need for this car is down pipes and a tune. Done!

I don’t have experience with them but I know a lot of people use them, so you should be good to go. 👌

Nah...I passed him at a much quicker rate of speed the first time than now. His car got a good bit quicker IMO, just not enough to pull the 720.

We will see how this season goes. A lot of the races are from a 50 which requires the 720 to be in 2nd gear. If it becomes too much of a problem I may have to go back to my ex girlfriend. Lol

It is an AMS car and they are pretty reputable so I very much doubt they are lying about the power. Their own website says 950(w)hp on 93 octance and 1025+(w)hp on 100 octane. The 60-130 time (according to AMS) is 4.33.
Why don’t you take all the vehicles you put your 720s against and take them on a real track.
Just take it to the track with no add on’s

720s are impressive, no doubt; just can't trust them.
If your goal is to have a car for Mad Max runs, then a well maintained & cared for 720s is for you. But if you want an all around fast car that you can trust, then the 720s is not for you.
Regardless, only 4 mods with great technology can equal to good ROI in the hwy racing dept😗.
