I've been fighting how to make a door for two days, this is by far the best tutorial on how to make this! I was using flip flop, and timelines so if fit perfectly! Thanks!
The way u explaining everything is what everyone needs to start do. It helps not just to copy paste the nodes, but to understand the nature of it...and why it works or doesnt work =) pleasure to listen
I have fought for hours with this. I kept running in circle using hit boxes. If you run into issues with your door mesh rotation being wrong, you can just add a scene component and drag/attach your door onto that, then use the Scene component for the Set Relative Rotation node instead of the Door. It will save you having to fix the mesh rotation.
Hey dude, Loved the tutorial! Great explanations, I seem to be running into an issue of the door not opening away from the player. I can drag two identical blue prints into the world, one door opens inward , the same exact blueprint next to it in world opens the opposite way of outward, any ideas? haha
Not sure if you're running into the same thing I did -- but I had imported my mesh incorrectly (so the forward direction was the "side" of the door), and as a result, the door would open in different directions depending on whether you were on the right or left of the hinge, not the front or back of the door. I resolved this by changing the import rotation setting of the mesh itself, then re-imported.
i have an issue with this it kinda works but only if im in the middle of the door if i interact with the door from the left it thinks im behind it but im not and vice versa, what could be causing this? edit: i fixed the problem didnt take into account the way the model was orientated thank you amazing tutorial
Haven't really done timestamps for tutorials yet, but here is a basic outline of the video 00:00 Intro 00:50 Tutorial 13:14 Outro Will consider doing them for future tutorials.
