Got a number of Aqara devices, and they actually saved my a$$. I had the hot water heater rupture, the Aqara water leak sensor picked it up immediately, sent a phone notification allowing me to shut the water down before it damaged the house. Oh and this camera looks awesome.
Hi Craig. Your video captures the myriad of reason why I purchased the G3 and why I recommend it to friends. It does so many things! The video quality is great and my kids love the tracking (it’s right behind one of our in-wall iPads dedicated to our Apple Home management, so they can watch it track them). I originally purchased it to get an Aqara hub, and that’s still a great reason. Aqara has a ton of different sensors that work really well and are ideally priced. I originally got this for a vibration sensor on my mailbox that runs a scene telling me when “You’ve got Mail!”
I bought one today. One thing to mention about HomeKit that everyone else mentions in their reviews.. When you enable the secure video. option for HomeKit it reduces the video to 1080p and it also disables a lot of the features of the camera.. I've not seen anyone show exactly what is disabled, but it sounds like a good amount because unavailable. I'm not sure if you just lose the function to control it through HomeKit but still can in Aqara, or if it disables the features all together which is what people have led me to believe.
Hi. So now that you’ve played with it for a while, does it complete disable functions when you enable HomeKit secure video or are they still available in the Aqara app? Are you able to utilise Siri Shortcuts with them? And just in case you’re able to answer my one other question, can you set the security system to Away and leave a dog in the house or will the dog set it off?
great elaborate video.. quick question.. since automations can be exported to Apple Homekit, is it possible to export IR device controls? For instance, can a non-smart AC temperature be controlled through homekit? or would it only give power toggle?
Nice video and you great information. Can you confirm if the camera, and any other Aqara hub/ device, can be connected to HomeKit and Alexa at the same time? Eg: the Security System can be seen in both?
What do you think about security and privacy with regards to aqara products, compared to brands like eve? Wondering whether you ever tried setting up aqara cameras (and other homekit-compatible cameras) with homekit router: restrict to home settings? Do these cameras still work properly? I'm a bit nervous when it comes to cameras and microphones.
This has human and animal detection? Can it turn on/off lights based on these? Example my cat walks into the kitchen nothing happens, but if a person walks in it turns on the lights for that room?
I just got my Aqara G3 camera, and the human tracking does not work. It is on, but it does not follow anyone around the room. I am running the IOS 17 beta. Would that be the issue?
Are you trying to use the Human tracking in the Aqara app or the Home App. You will not get movement in HomeKit, but you should be seeing it within the Aqara app if it is turned on in the camera settings.
Not quite sure why but it seems like there are times when the HKSV detects motion (I get notifications) but no video is actually saved to iCloud. Pretty sure that camera is configured to record any motion. Anyone else experience this?
@@CraigsTechTalk they readded after i complained to them that it was a useful feature to have. Check for an update you will be good. I told them the customer service is amazing. My water leak sensor got damaged and they replaced it no question asked then when i told them about the feature that was removed they promptly re added it
I would love to get this for my parents but I’m not a big fan of the company being Chinese owned. Guess I’m gonna have to hold out longer for a decent HomeKit wireless camera.

I love the G3! Just when I think I have a Favorites Smart Home Devices, Aqara comes out with a new hub!

Thanks for the great video! Does Aqara app allow viewing 2 Aqara cameras on two different locations on different networks?
Great video! Thank you! Can you tell me if it’s possible to trigger an automation to put my camera in privacy mode asking siri or alexa?
Nice video and you great information. Can you confirm if the camera,

Great video Craig! Looking at Aqara Hubs for Prime Day!

Hi Craig is it possible to turn on my hue lights with this acara camera
will it work well with my android phone
Awesome update. Pity it's not available via Amazon in Australia 😔
Can you pan and tilt though the home app?

When will it get matter update? Cheers
Thanks Craig. I have Aqara sensors.
Thank you Ron. They have great sensors. I love how fast they trigger.

Nice video
The New aqara update removed geo location 😭 it's too bad
Yeah I noticed that wasn’t an option. It’s disappointing.

Hmm this or Eufy 🤔
Because of the hub built in and more compatible devices, I would lean towards Aqara. I love Eufy, but the other smart home features aren’t as strong.
great rrewiemw!!!!!
I ran out of money or I would of tried this one. I picked up 3 tp 2k cams.
- my Aqara Camera Hub G2H picks me up as a package lol.
Wait till you hear that my Kasa camera picks my dog up as a human lol.
That’s funny that it’s not limited to just one manufacturer. AI still needs some work. 😀
The only thing that stops me from buying this is that it doesn’t have a separate screen so you can watch it without the phone or tv

I don't use apple for anything. I prefer google or alexa.
Thank you for sharing and watching.
Great video Craig! I’m looking at Aqara Hubs for Prime Day!
