Signas, Douglas and Alia feel like real characters? Cooperation with NPC's? Hard but fair battles? A pissed off X that knowns when to smile and is as badass as Zero? This game looks fantastic!
Good writing was never a strong point of the X series, but what the characters should be like was conveyed well enough. That's all the fans need to pick up Capcom's slack.
Did you see how X and other characters have different expressions on their faces when they're talking IN THE SAME DIALOG BOX? Did you see that the guards keeping an eye to the imprisoned Mavericks are clear references to Daft Punk? Did you see that the fight with Strike is way harder and challenging and thus more fun that the other intro stage bosses in the original games? Did you see how every NPC has their own mugshot and they are not just copies of themselves? Did you see THAT cutscene in the intro with X flying in his Ultimate Armor? Did you see how the dialogues with the Mavericks immediately give them personality and you can see that they're spiteful or cocky? Can you even grasp the amount of time and effort this man has put on this game, just to release it for free for the fans? I'm extremely excited, happy and moved by this game. I was on the verge of crying. Thank you so very much for this, in this so weird and chaotic year. This definitely makes a perfect closure. Thank you.
I don't know why, but I actually felt as if the game had proper Japanese voice acting work. I mean, I almost *heard* what the characters were saying, even the low-ranking Hunters too! There's a certain flow and elegance to this intro stage, and I'm glad JKB put all of his spirit into it. I hope that the rest of this game turns out great. 😊👍
You right with all of this but one thing. This does not need to be the closure. I hope that it gets the Street Fighter Cross Megaman treatment or the Sonic Mania one. THIS SHOULD BE SUPPORTED BY CAPCOM!!! Sorry for caps but it had to be said.

I think X being this mature is also in line with him transforming after the x5 events, I think him keeping the ultimate armor after the eurasia events is a clear reference to this, zero is dead, but he has to go forward and face his biggest fears, one of said fears is having too much power on his hands. This is what makes his parallel with Strike so strong, X doesn't want the power but uses it for the sake of humanity and reploids alike, but even fears said power, meanwhile Strike seeks power above anything else for selfish reasons.

I dont want to grind an unnecessary amount of times on a short single level. There is no need for such complex upgrades that affects your progress in the game. I just want a simple plantformer. I want a megaman game. Megaman X Dive is not a Megaman game to me.
the amount of details, you can see at 1:25 how X start speaking kinda "happily" with his mouth when asking how the reploid is, and then get serious when talking about the situation, and that's literally into X's personality, just the best game ever
The zero series are also part of it i think, but still amazing game zero 1-4 and zx series are my favorite megaman games. But especially 1-4 is mostly my favorite.

I agree! that's what hypes me at the beginning.. Back in the days, we only got X2 and X3 introstage that didn't have that 'usual teleporting' thing, BUT this ONE IS AMAZINGLY CREATIVE!
@@MegamanX25A I think JKB and his crew needed the fans's subscribes so that RUclips can pay them money inorder to make this game.. They needed money to buy expensive computers and such technologies and engineering to keep making the game better.
Or you guys could just praise a fan game, without bashing the company associated with said property. Also, that's not even taking into accounts stuff over the past few years that Capcom has done stuff like Monster Hunter World, Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil 7, The Megaman Zero Collection, the Resident Evil 2 and 3 Remakes, and they also have a Mega Man game in development. Are they a perfect company? No, but we're no longer stuck in the days of them constantly making terrible decisions.
To be fair, the reason Zero would generally get more love in the old games is he was originally meant to be the main character. X is more of a placeholder main character that was only created because at first they thought Zero would be too different of a character for fans of the classic Megaman to enjoy. Little did they know.

And Inafune wasn't satisfied enough so he created the Zero series and made X dead. Keep in mind that X was meant to the antagonist. But thanks to Capcom, it was scrapped because it was too hurtful for his fans.
Okay, so when talking about Zero’s and X’s spotlight, I was fine with Zero - a side character - playing a big role in the series and even getting his own sequel series. Those two concepts are normal. The thing is, Inafune focused too little on X story wise to make up for it, so in the end I and many others feel that X as a character had missed potential. The sad thing is, Inafune himself wanted to fix this issue with the Mega Man Maverick Hunter X remakes, giving X a more fleshed out role. The first and currently only entry of that had X being the central focus, having him being the reploid with the most human emotion particularly in his ability to care and worry. The ending cutscene of Dr. Lights last words and the prequal movie emphasizing X’s large importance in connecting robots to humanity. X in that version was also meant to be the one to cause Sigma’s eye scars in the unlock able prequel movie, where as in the original canon it was revealed in a flashback in X4 that Zero gave Sigma his eye scars. It’s kind of upsetting that Inafune never got to make up for the mistakes he _wanted_ to fix. Here’s hoping that the possible Mega Man X9 somehow makes a good story around X, or maybe we’ll even get to see those Maverick Hunter X sequels make Inafune’s wish come true, although it’s unlikely to happen.
@@slysamuel5902 Capcom is currently making collaborations with other games to introduce more people into it. When there's enough people who are familiar with Megaman X, it's more likely to get a sequel. It's more of a business thing to advertise the game first then make a one!
You know I watch this video from time to time just for the soundtrack. What really strikes me is, as X goes through, you see more enemies, post alarm the enemies digging through the hull of the airship. It creates a nice effect of, even though X is destroying every enemy in sight, the battle feels like it is being lost. The situation is deteriorating. He is a god tier hero, his allies are recharged seeing him, but the sheer volume of the battles defeats him. His is powerful as possible, but it is not enough this time. Great storytelling.

That's because it actually is; there's a functional lighting system in this game. Things like charge auras, buster shots, saber slashes and dash rockets illuminate the area around them, if it happens to be dark at the moment.

This is really good. The dialogue and the whole rogue gallery thing, you're obviously trying to make each scene as engaging as possible, while keeping the old aesthetic. Very cool. Keep the quality for the rest of the game and you could have the best mega man game ever made on your hands.

Actually, I want X in a Botw type game with genshin impact style character switching, an over the top budget, and controls like z.o.e. it'd be a perfect fit for the franchise and bring them into the space they've wanted for so long lol a 2d platformer would be fine though. Megaman would be fallout to zelda's skyrim.
X absorbing the energy of the ship's core at the end to protect his friends. What a hero. And what a cliffhanger. I feel that's a cool reference to X1 manga where X absorbed energy capable of destroying Japan into his buster. Just my assumption but I guess this is where you lose the Ultimate Armor somehow but later reclaim it through some awesome dialogue which shows that the alternate Ultimate Armor that got destroyed was just to get X adapted so he could materialize it at anytime via energy.

It gets stolen by strike. Has already been in different, earlier videos. The only unknows are how and when. Though based on this I guess X blacks out and Strike teleports back in to take it from his body.
Hunters fighting alongside X, dialogues, incarcerated mavericks awaiting trial, details that bring life to the game and tell us that we are some kind of police, the games didn't make much about it.

One detail that I really like about this, is that it shows other Reploids actually doing something instead of just waiting for X or Zero to show up. High five, this is awesome! And what is this? A possible explanation why X doesnt start the game with Ultimate Armor? (the engine blowing up)
@@jess648 well from. What I saw in the streams, X will lose his ultimate armor after the intro stage due to the power core, since it's explained what happened when X wakes up at the base after the intro stage. But we still don't know when Strike will steal the ultimate armor.
I think it will have something in relation with the "Corruption" part of the game cuz some corrupted wily stages exist i think,and if i remember there is even a corrupted armor that is basically the ultimate armor but corrupted and if you equip it you Can't unequip it for the entire game

Oh my, X has a personality that is heroic and assertive instead of just being a passive soft boy who wishes he didn't have to fight. 100/20 best X plot by far.
X's intense pacifist nature is probably the biggest part of Dr.Light's hundred year conditioning. I think that not wanting to fight under any circumstance but doing it anyway is an incredible part of his character. Very rarely in a shooting video game do you have a main character who personally regrets every kill. Not everybody can be saved, but you can't judge that when you're looking at someone on the worst day of their life. X knew that - and that's incredible. People rag on pacifist heroes in action settings without appreciating how complex they are. They're not pussies and they're not soft - in a world ravaged by war (irl and not), pacifism is not neccessarily inaction, indecision, or naive. Very rarely is it cowardice.

I know this won’t mean much coming from some random guy on the internet but wow. This is breathtaking, the amount of time and effort that went into this is absolutely astounding. This is on an entirely different level when it comes to fan games. And especially MMX games. This will undoubtably sit amongst the greatest fan games ever made when it is released. When I was a kid playing X on SNES I always wondered, "where TF are the other maverick hunters? Are X and Zero the only members?" So it amazed me to see other allies contribute meaningful firepower to the fight. This is the first Megaman X game that made me feel like the player is actually part of a tactical unit. The dialogue is great, the pacing is exciting, the music fits perfectly and the plot had me hooked. I also loved that the types of enemies were purposefully chosen. In other games it's like, "lolrandom here's a laser chihuahua." But here? During the siege of the airbase we saw attack copters, enemies designed to be tossed through windows, heavy anti-infantry platforms meant to suppress hallways and chokepoints, breaching pods with lasers to tear the ship apart, the works. Really added to the atmosphere that the base was under attack by a unified, militaristic group instead of just, "a collection of random @$$holes are here now. Shoot them, I guess." And being able to interact with the prisoners and guards along the way was icing on the cake. I finally felt like something epic was afoot instead of the typical, "now go beat this guy so you can change colors and beat the next guy."
Megaman X6 besides of having a horrible enemy placement, the enemies didn't match in some stages either like in the snow stage, there isn't literally a single enemy specialized in snow besides of the stage boss
This is great! I’ve never been too crazy about dialogue in megaman, but at least most of it is optional. The boss fight is very good and feels like a proper X boss, but cranked to 11. Really loved it.
I just really liked it when the maverick hunter called X captain X and it really makes you think of how far X has come from class B maverick hunter pacifist to a captain that people look up to as a sign of hope

All the parts of the game remind me my childhood in the 90's. Capcom should come back to make Megaman this way

@KamiSquad_X Although the concept behind X Dives seems alright. But the whole gacha system kinda ruins everything for me. I dont want to RNG ultimate armor X and black Zero. I dont want to grind an unnecessary amount of times on a short single level. There is no need for such complex upgrades that affects your progress in the game. I just want a simple plantformer. I want a megaman game. Megaman X Dive is not a Megaman game to me.
the amount of details, you can see at 1:25 how X start speaking kinda "happily" with his mouth when asking how the reploid is, and then get serious when talking about the situation, and that's literally into X's personality, just the best game ever

Also, that's not even taking into accounts stuff over the past few years that Capcom has done stuff like Monster Hunter World, Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil 7, The Megaman Zero Collection, the Resident Evil 2 and 3 Remakes, and they also have a Mega Man game in development. Are they a perfect company? No, but we're no longer stuck in the days of them constantly making terrible decisions.
Usually Zero gets more love out of the franchise, but god dang X was on fire with the opening this time 🔥
To be fair, the reason Zero would generally get more love in the old games is he was originally meant to be the main character. X is more of a placeholder main character that was only created because at first they thought Zero would be too different of a character for fans of the classic Megaman to enjoy. Little did they know.

Keep in mind that X was meant to the antagonist. But thanks to Capcom, it was scrapped because it was too hurtful for his fans.
Okay, so when talking about Zero’s and X’s spotlight, I was fine with Zero - a side character - playing a big role in the series and even getting his own sequel series. Those two concepts are normal. The thing is, Inafune focused too little on X story wise to make up for it, so in the end I and many others feel that X as a character had missed potential.
The sad thing is, Inafune himself wanted to fix this issue with the Mega Man Maverick Hunter X remakes, giving X a more fleshed out role. The first and currently only entry of that had X being the central focus, having him being the reploid with the most human emotion particularly in his ability to care and worry. The ending cutscene of Dr. Lights last words and the prequal movie emphasizing X’s large importance in connecting robots to humanity.
X in that version was also meant to be the one to cause Sigma’s eye scars in the unlock able prequel movie, where as in the original canon it was revealed in a flashback in X4 that Zero gave Sigma his eye scars.
It’s kind of upsetting that Inafune never got to make up for the mistakes he _wanted_ to fix. Here’s hoping that the possible Mega Man X9 somehow makes a good story around X, or maybe we’ll even get to see those Maverick Hunter X sequels make Inafune’s wish come true, although it’s unlikely to happen.

You know I watch this video from time to time just for the soundtrack. What really strikes me is, as X goes through, you see more enemies, post alarm the enemies digging through the hull of the airship. It creates a nice effect of, even though X is destroying every enemy in sight, the battle feels like it is being lost. The situation is deteriorating. He is a god tier hero, his allies are recharged seeing him, but the sheer volume of the battles defeats him. His is powerful as possible, but it is not enough this time. Great storytelling.
Fully agree! For me, Sonic 3 & Knuckles has firmly held the crown for 2D storytelling with gameplay, but MMX Corrupted single-handedly dethrones it.

Just realized that whenever X shoots lemons, his sprite gets lighter colors, as if being illuminated by his shots.
that idea already exist in the original X4, X5, and X6 games.
That's because it actually is; there's a functional lighting system in this game. Things like charge auras, buster shots, saber slashes and dash rockets illuminate the area around them, if it happens to be dark at the moment.

This is really good. The dialogue and the whole rogue gallery thing, you're obviously trying to make each scene as engaging as possible, while keeping the old aesthetic. Very cool.

I feel that's a cool reference to X1 manga where X absorbed energy capable of destroying Japan into his buster.
Just my assumption but I guess this is where you lose the Ultimate Armor somehow but later reclaim it through some awesome dialogue which shows that the alternate Ultimate Armor that got destroyed was just to get X adapted so he could materialize it at anytime via energy.
Definitely going the Metroid Prime route and stripping the upgrades. Finding them is half the fun!
@@StevenCasteelYT Not the first time the X series has done it. X5 had you lose the Fourth Armor in Zero's Intro (you find X beaten badly), whereas Zero loses his Z-Buster if do X's Intro.
It gets stolen by strike. Has already been in different, earlier videos. The only unknows are how and when. Though based on this I guess X blacks out and Strike teleports back in to take it from his body.

Indeed even if it isn't terribly fleshed out it just gives that intro level a bit extra flair that no other MM has given us thus far.
Hunters fighting alongside X, dialogues, incarcerated mavericks awaiting trial, details that bring life to the game and tell us that we are some kind of police, the games didn't make much about it.

Oh my, X has a personality that is heroic and assertive instead of just being a passive soft boy who wishes he didn't have to fight. 100/20 best X plot by far.

Pretty sure he displayed assertiveness in some of the official games too though.
X's intense pacifist nature is probably the biggest part of Dr.Light's hundred year conditioning. I think that not wanting to fight under any circumstance but doing it anyway is an incredible part of his character. Very rarely in a shooting video game do you have a main character who personally regrets every kill.
Not everybody can be saved, but you can't judge that when you're looking at someone on the worst day of their life. X knew that - and that's incredible.
People rag on pacifist heroes in action settings without appreciating how complex they are. They're not pussies and they're not soft - in a world ravaged by war (irl and not), pacifism is not neccessarily inaction, indecision, or naive. Very rarely is it cowardice.

When I was a kid playing X on SNES I always wondered, "where TF are the other maverick hunters? Are X and Zero the only members?"
So it amazed me to see other allies contribute meaningful firepower to the fight. This is the first Megaman X game that made me feel like the player is actually part of a tactical unit.
The dialogue is great, the pacing is exciting, the music fits perfectly and the plot had me hooked.
I also loved that the types of enemies were purposefully chosen. In other games it's like, "lolrandom here's a laser chihuahua." But here? During the siege of the airbase we saw attack copters, enemies designed to be tossed through windows, heavy anti-infantry platforms meant to suppress hallways and chokepoints, breaching pods with lasers to tear the ship apart, the works. Really added to the atmosphere that the base was under attack by a unified, militaristic group instead of just, "a collection of random @$$holes are here now. Shoot them, I guess."
And being able to interact with the prisoners and guards along the way was icing on the cake. I finally felt like something epic was afoot instead of the typical, "now go beat this guy so you can change colors and beat the next guy."
Megaman X6 besides of having a horrible enemy placement, the enemies didn't match in some stages either like in the snow stage, there isn't literally a single enemy specialized in snow besides of the stage boss

to be fair we have a god damn parrot ship, but it kind of makes sense right? I think of parrots as a symbol of pirate ships so that's fitting

This is great! I’ve never been too crazy about dialogue in megaman, but at least most of it is optional. The boss fight is very good and feels like a proper X boss, but cranked to 11. Really loved it.
For the first time ever, X gets to his comrades before they ded.

I just really liked it when the maverick hunter called X captain X and it really makes you think of how far X has come from class B maverick hunter pacifist to a captain that people look up to as a sign of hope
