      Same if the disease can only be spread through specific avenues such as STDs, and even then those often don't immediately kill anyone.

    Just so you know, Ebola can't be transmitted by routine contact with surfaces touched by others or by contact with unbroken skin. Just another TV show using Ebola as a vague "big bad disease" which is honestly a bummer

    • @Sassmouthin
      @Sassmouthin Месяц назад

      No, but Ebola is primarily spread through direct contact with the bodily fluids of an infected person or animal, including blood, saliva, vomit, feces, urine, sweat, breast milk, and semen. It can also be transmitted through contact with contaminated objects, like needles or medical equipment, and through the consumption of infected animals, such as fruit bats or primates.
      The virus is not airborne and can not be spread through casual contact or by being near someone who isn't showing symptoms
      That being said, I can see your side and agree with what you said while knowing that it's not impossible for ebola to spread like wildfire given the chance.

Monitoring? Sure! "Here's this number. It will call you every day to ask about your symptoms, if any".

    Ebola didn’t even spread in Nigeria. The first case was a man who flew in from Liberia. The spread of the Virus was limited to the hospital the man was admitted to. We had 20 cases and 8 deaths. One was the man himself, a second was a nurse, a third was a doctor thay treated an ebola patient. Another 2 worked in the hospital. One was his friend that was on the plane with him.

      When it comes to Ebola, that’s merely pennies, relative to how long you have. The parasites begin to eat you from the inside out, and even someone grabbing forearm skin and you pulling away could literally rip the skin off the bone if not treated within the first couple weeks of exposure. That doesn’t even begin to dive into the severe internal bleeding that’s also happening simultaneously….

    Why Nigeria?. The countries that Ebola affected seriously weren’t mentioned. Nigeria was able to pick the guy traveling from Liberia that was bringing the infection to Nigeria. The doctor that attended to him and the initial first responders ( May their gentle souls Rest In Peace) bore the brunt of the infection. The government of President Jonathan Goodluck took adequate and appropriate steps to handle the situation.

      In no way is protecting public health violating anyone's rights. Every effort is made to do such contact discreetly, but public health and law enforcement can take actions similar to what is depicted here if absolutely necessary. They have in fact had such authority for years, but was never to the extent it was during the pandemic. While the legality of the pandemic response may be in question, there is no doubt that what was done saved a great many lives, and may those we lost rest in peace. Ebola and Marburg are far scarier than Covid ever was, with no known cure or vaccine. With that being said, every region of our country is prepared to respond to such diseases if needed. The best preparation we as a society can make is to educate ourselves and others with proven scientific facts, to minimize panic and ensure preparedness.

      Unfortunately there’s only a small gray area for trying to get an incredibly deadly disease under control, or letting people just walk around with it, getting everyone killed that didn’t ask for it either. Temporarily take the “freedom” away from one person in order to maintain the freedom for thousands of others is not an easy task, especially with a population susceptible to believing conspiracy theories, and anything they see on social media or TV.

      He kept his cool because he's an actor acting out the part of someone who's being calm.
      The amount of mentally challenged people on this Shorts comment section is astounding.
      Mostly thinking this TV show is real life and real people, also thinking Ebola is transmitted by touch or airborne.... It only transfers from body fluids.
      Would need to be kissing or more intimate activities or touching open wounds etc for Ebola to spread.
      This show VERY poorly demonstrates the ignorance of people watching it who believe TV is reality.
      I watched a movie called Star wars once - I don't believe that Darth Vader is a real person and that Chewbacca and all the other aliens are actually real... Maybe a lot of these people here would believe it though.
