They deserve that death. When I leveled our lock and priest were banned from using fear in dungeons. We didn't die. Stupidity kills.

For Paladins its the Seal of Justice, if you judge it the mob is not running away too. What i dont know, if Priest can stopp a fleeing mob by mindcontrol him and sending it back to the group.
Maybe I'm too cynical and in a "nothing ever happens" mindset but this feels super scripted and on purpose to me. No way people like Ozy and especially sardaco don't know their way around sunken temple. We are a couple of days away from onlyfangs and fresh HC, all of this just screams dying on purpose for content to me. And then Sardaco's duel against the warlock afterwards which is close to unwinnable if the warlock is remotely competent. All of that just screams engagement-farm to me.

Classic Lock should always win over a Classic Mage assuming equal gear and skill. They just have the right toolset to shut mages down, and a hefty hp pool since Blizz had 0 clue how to itemize locks back then, so they ended up with a ton of Stam on their class gear, sometimes matching tank level of hp.
This was a SSF lock though vs Sardaco's full pay to win mage with 2 epics, spellpower enchant etc. So he definitely had a chance he's just not comfortable on a mage and specially not in pvp.
I feel like people commenting don’t ever watch Ozy’s streams. His entire bit that he’s clueless. That’s his appeal as a streamer. He doesn’t really know much. He’s just a guy playing classic wow. He doesn’t have any accolades or prior history of success (r1 glad / speed runner/ parser). This is honestly pretty normal behavior from him. mage loses this fight against warlock almost always, you can't kill the pet, it's SUPER resistant to all magic, it silences you, fear, death coil... counterspell? nah, deathcoil comin' for yo ass and THEN fear, then silence before fear, when can you counterspell? only when they're not fearing you basically, spend the entire fight running away b/c the enemy has a spammable ability that makes you a coward, fear, fear, fear, then just some DoTs and they can sit there eating their snack or w/e while you just die
In the grand scheme of things it’s likely all for content, none of it matters they will just pay to be boosted up again and keep being garbage players.

Not only warlocks can stop mobs from fleeing. Palas also have a seal that they can judge to make mobs stop run away.
Felhound has high resistances from memory, probably hard to burst it down as a caster.
The shaman dying to a flame nova is some final destination stuff

Fire resistance totem probably wouldn't have saved that shaman, but it could have.
