The Final Run of Frisco 1522, Newburg to St. Louis, MO, September 28, 2002 (Part 2)

On September 28, 2002 Frisco 1522 would make her final run of her 20 year excursion career which would come to an end because of rising insurance costs and limited chances to operate. This would be the first train chase I ever went on with my dad and is the trip that sparked my interest in trains from a very young age. You can still see Frisco 1522 on display at the Museum of Transportation in Kirkwood, MO where she pulled in under her own power after this final run. Even though it’s unlikely she’ll ever run again, it’s great to know Frisco 1522 is in good hands at the museum right?
