- After dropping passengers off in Dtown Birmingham Frisco 1522 heads north to the NS Steam Shop in Irondale, AL 1994...She just STORMS up Woodlawn hill on the NS AGS South......The sound is incredible.....
Dad loved the Frisco, I do too. Bring her back to life..... she's beautiful.
awesome! Would like to see this again! I was 4 in 94 and still remember seeing a steam engine on the AGS South end. That sounds good and looks good!
Great to see her under steam again, even if only on a vid. My parents worked for Frisco, but I never got to ride behind her. Did get a private cab tour at NRHS Conv and saw her run a few times. I wish she could get under steam again. She looks sorta sad just sitting at the NMOT.
Oh that whistle is just downright awesome sounding! BRING HER BACK TO LIFE!!!! If there's any steamers that need to be brought back to breath fire again it's Frisco 1522, Norfolk and Western 1218, and 611!! Bring them all back for another railfest and have them all meet! That would be friggin cool!!
10:47 I've never seen Frisco 1522 bell's spin
no diesel helper YEAH YOU GO 1522 SHOW EM HOW ITS DONE!
It's a little weird. You see 1522 doing UP excursions, You then see her working for Norfolk Southern double heading with 611, But then in 2001 she does a BNSF excursion. Would various railroads rent the locomotive for their events?
Well the BNSF is clear: Frisco railroad merged in to Burlington northern which then merged to SF so that’s probably why
Wow! Beautiful. SHe doesn't still run does she?
yowza!, pretty sweet seeing the 1522 under steam& underway got to see her here in Tulsa coulpe years back, burned up three tanks of gas,& shot five rolls of film stalking her between pot yard and sapulpa wye, last I heard she was laid up with some type of frame damage, something I presume would be pretty involved effort to repair
Nice lenghty coverage.
FRISCO 1522 HOW MANY OF THESE ENGINES HAVE THEY GOT ANY WAY
@Weiberts Unfortunantely, no. She's at the National Museum of Transportation in St. Louis
addendum, she was pulling a BNSF employee special
Shame 1522 will never run again
A lot of smoke for an oil burner.
