I dry the preparations in the open air under a canopy. The final moisture content of the workpieces should be 18-22%...

Is there a specific name that the router bit has that you use to cut the notch on the inside of the top and bottom of the barrel for the lids?

I have a question about metal hoops: what should be the width and thickness of a steel band for a 10 or 15 l barrel? Will 30x2mm be ok or 30x3mm will be better? Do you only use stainless steel strip or also black carbon steel (for the final product)? It might be a good idea to make a video showing how to oxidize steel to get black rims.

To make metal hoops for a wooden barrel with a volume of 5-6 liters, I use a strip of stainless or galvanized steel 20-25 mm wide and 1.5 mm thick. For barrels with a volume of 10-15 liters I use a strip 25-30 mm wide and 1.5 mm thick. You can also use a strip of ferrous metal...

What moisture content do you aim for? Just air dry to equilibrium? Or is wetter/dryer preferable?

Also, why not a tongue and groove joint for the caps? Does that just not seal well enough?
