Another fantastic video as always! I love seeing these come together! What was the reason for routering out the center of these staves? To help with bending? And you wouldn't happen to have plans anywhere for those barrel stave router jigs would you? Being able to repeat tapering and shaping the staves the exact same way every time is brilliant! Thanks for making these videos!

Very interesting, I've never seen a jointer/table saw combo before. Nor a miter saw quite like yours. Different parts of the world have their own unique tools.

Stupid idea but as a terrible craftsman in general and without proper tools, would it work if you kept the log intact but empty out the inside, char the inside and cover it up with a lid and a spout?

14:46 I’m curious about how this measurement with dividers works? It doesn’t give you the circumference of a circle, rather the circumference of a pentagon or hexagon or similar. What does the measurement tell you?

Might as well order a whiskey barrel while at home and claim you did it with only two fingers. Not griefing on your workmanship but on your presentation.

Hay Cooper, can you make a keg, 7'-8' tall on the oval? I made a keg. Oval not round, for my dog. Like on a St. Bernard would carry, Only my dog I made it for was a Rott'nDane. Walnut/oak striped staves. I pre-bent the staves, Boiled them in a pot and bent them over a nail peg board in an arch between the nails. This was 30 years ago and there was no YT/internet. I have to figure it out on my own as there were no coopers around. What neck of the woods are you?
