I can suffer a lot of stuff when it comes to b movies, but I expect them to at least be semi plausible or sensible in SOME way. But about 15 minutes in, their space ship gets split in half IN ORBIT (actually it is still out in space) and the main character happens to fall to the planet from orbit, and land in a lake and be unscathed, not even wearing any protective suit or anything. Furthermore, about 10 minutes later she is on the beach with some other survivors in a desolate environment, and all of a sudden with no preamble, there is a battle between villagers and villains only like FIFTY meters away, none of whom where there 30 seconds earlier. That was basically it, too stupid to continue. How can have the ability to organize a movie, actors, props, special fx, etc, and fail so miserably on SOMEWHAT sensible script? Wouldn't that be the EASIEST thing to do right? I really just can't fathom it, which is why this message is so big for an otherwise piece of junk movie.

Plot holes: (Spoilers! Duh!) This wasn't the aftermath of an ecological disaster: No matter how much you mess up the atmosphere and the climate you could not get the earth to “fall out of its orbit”. Of course how do you fix that with particle accelerators? And how do particle accelerators create “wormholes throughout the galaxies”? That does sound like a terrible disaster to inflict upon multiple galaxies, just to try and save your own planet. So there are 7 ships traveling around looking for a new home planet. “So far we haven't found one”. This implies they have seen several unsuitable planetary systems, how did they do that at sub-light speeds? Young protagonist things they should use the wormholes to explore faster, old guy says they are too dangerous. But then they detect a distress signal in a wormhole and old guy says OK, let's go through the wormhole and check it out. Suddenly they are not so dangerous any more? Wait! They are! The shuttle breaks in half and crash lands on a habitable planet. What a stroke of luck! But wait, how did there happen to be a wormhole nearby that was close enough for the shuttle to get to at sub-light speeds? What an incredible stroke of luck! So the planet is habitable and already inhabited by Eloi (who want to kill our heroes) and Morlocks (who want to eat everyone). Tough luck, but fortunately the Morlocks wait long enough for the important characters to be rescued before eating. This planet also has horses that are already broken for riding. Which is a relief since half the movie before the horse is scenes of our heroine running from one place to another. The Eloi look like extras from Mad Max wearing rags, motorcycle helmets, ski masks and gas masks. The Eloi take off their helmets at last and turn out to be human. Turns out this planet is actually Earth! The Earth has magically been restored to its orbit hundreds of years in the future and some of the Eloi still speak English and are expecting the 7 ships to return. And our hero's ship does return, presumably through the dangerous wormhole without getting broken in half (I wonder how they did that). It is also apparently capable of flying through the atmosphere, which a generation ship should not be capable of doing… The End.

I am just tired of wormholes. The ship finds a habitable planet with a second or third generation crew, They crash, Kate saves lives the crew are attacked by roving primitive humans, the primitives are attacked by a monster resembling a Yeti, Kate wakes up alone in a cave escapes the Yet and goes to search for the missing Captain. I am okay with generations of people aboard a vessel, the crash would have been better if each had a pod or something other than skydiving, the primitives were a great touch and the aliens well done. This is one of the few with great technique of little dialogue in beginning The aliens resemble Yeti Abominibal snowmen this is a good costume, but there is just a little too much Wonderwoman in the characters role, sure this is a sci fi flick but are we not watching humans.After escaping the creature she does not need to run, it would be more realistic if she slowed down a little.. On second thought perhaps Kate the main female character was bioengineered, just add a little information 20 seconds early in film about bio engineering could work and I wonder why Kate dd not give the Captain, once she found him a little water and berries or pick up some jerky when she took out the humanoids little things like this bug me. On her way to find the medical kit, she reencounters the Yets, takes out a bow and arrow scored from the humanoids and picks off monsters in a 45 degree angle from the side of a cliff. Oh, this is a Spaghetti Sci Fi,.... enough already

This film wasn't made in the 30's, 40's and 50's, it was made a few years ago in 2014. So I ask, "Why the lack of diversity?" This movie was also shot in the Philippines so there is a strong sense that some Asians were working behind the scenes, perhaps not in any substantial capacity but nonetheless, there was some participation in minor roles but not in front of the camera. It is one thing to accept those minority dollars to bolster the bottom line of your film but, from your view, it should not mean that any minority should be in front of the camera. Hollywood is suppose to be this institution of liberal ideals but it is not. It's vision is myopic when it comes to racial awareness. There was a white actor known as Warner Roland. His claim to fame was that he dressed up with Asian prosthesis and played Charlie Chan during than rum of film series. Mickey Rooney, another white actor, played a Japanese man in Breakfast at Tiffany's. And Scarlett Johansson played Asian in Ghost In the Shell, that bombed because of the practice of whitewashing. And you need to look back in history when it comes to blacks and their association with music and sports. It is replete with too many instances where blacks have been taken advantage by their white contemporaries through bad contracts and institutional racism. Blacks were paid 10 cents on the dollar in the beginning and it wasn't unheard of for a musician or an artist or sports personality to be living in poverty while white agents and managers reaped in thousands from their work. And the only reason why we have this thing called "black" films when in truth they should just call it a film, is that blacks and Asians and Hispanics don't ever get the chance to showcase their work because the studios won't green-light them. It's up to these respective groups to make them on their own and they sometimes find the mark and turn out good films. It's always the case about giving one the opportunity without prejudice.

Blacks were paid 10 cents on the dollar in the beginning and it wasn't unheard of for a musician or an artist or sports personality to be living in poverty while white agents and managers reaped in thousands from their work. And the only reason why we have this thing called "black" films when in truth they should just call it a film, is that blacks and Asians and Hispanics don't ever get the chance to showcase their work because the studios won't green-light them. It's up to these respective groups to make them on their own and they sometimes find the mark and turn out good films. It's always the case about giving one the opportunity without prejudice.

Much like the case of Jackie Robinson, I Think it is,when African descendents were finally getting into Pro Baseball along with many others later in Basketball and sports in general. They could not stay in the same hotel as Whites or had to use a separate entrance. Mohamed Ali is famous for refusing to accept "the norm" treatment of both Browns and Blacks. There was a very famous heart doctor doing research on heart transplants experimenting on Dogs. That had an African lab assistant that initially was employed to setup the experiments provide a helping hand then clean up afterwards. He ended up being equal in ability to the "White" Doctor making many of the breakthroughs himself. At the time when the papers were published and the Big announcement made at a formal dinner. He was forced to watch from the kitchen and received no mention.Only much later being recognized and given a professorship if memory serves. Another African did research on Soybeans for Pittsburg paint as a Chemist making huge advances and breakthroughs. His reward was when he moved into a white neighborhood of having a cross burned in the family's front yard.
That alone should speak volumes and point a finger of blame as to who what where when how and why there is so much Racism in this world. What are we the people from the time we are born into this world taught to believe is the truth of this world ourselves each other and reality is a lie. I took initiative, without being asked, to protect and prevent discrimination of middle eastern personnel in the early 80's till today. when Angola & Mozambique blacks slaughtered whites, US boomed Kadafe, Somalia exploded into total anarchy, Edie Amine, Pol Pots, & subsequent world and national events, including the LA Riots? I, a Christian, was attending mosque, practicing Ramadan, & taking every opportunity & effort that insure that like persons living in the US had support and venues for protection, safe havens & moral support - regardless of differences in race, color, religion, gender, sexual preference, age, ethnicity, etc.
Let's not forget that generations have passed since America went to a horrible bloody war with ITSELF for the sole purpose to abolish slavery and & provide liberty & justice for all citizens. Which BTW changed the tide for ALL nations practicing slavery. Stalin killed millions by execution & hundreds of "forced labor camps" of ordinary ppl pulled off the street. Today it's white slavery & pedophilia.

Not a total water of time but, I resent the lack of diversity in ethnicity of races & the unrealistic nature of the impossible events that occurred near the beginning when going into & falling out of the black hole occurred. Otherwise, some of the film seemed plausible. A sci-fi movie should at least be about scientific plausibility or it's a movie based on fantasy & not a "science" fiction movie a should be categorised as such when uploaded. Also, if it's older, it shouldn't be labeled as "new". Not cool.

this was a gr8 movie, entertainment for gr8 viewers who appreci8 grand cre8ivity, fantasy, adventure, action, and most importantly a gr8 cast. I'd give this movie a grade no less than a perfect 8, 9 being extraordinary and 10 Amazing.
