This song is a masterpiece.
like pretty much any zep song
@@michawiechowski6275 not really, there are tons of meh songs and lots of stuff they ripped off directly from black musicians who weren't as well-known. this one, however, is among their best.
we're here . peace always ❤️
@@michawiechowski6275 I wish you the best. every day
@@kdchmln The sounds of interpresedence is another meaning. in inauthentic interpretation . words have no meaning for strong people
Love watching Jimmy Play, whether it’s 1969 or 2009 he keeps on kissing the air
How can you not love this song pure genius
I've read some criticism of Plant in these comments. Saw LZ in 1970, 75 and 77. Saw Robert solo three times since, most recently with Patty Griffin and Buddy Miller in 2011. On occasion, his voice was somewhat off, due to the strain of touring and multiple performances. But even on an off night, he stood feet above any other rock singer of our era....In 2011 he hit all the high notes and blew the place away. Yes, he's not 25 years old anymore...but he is a vocal master who knows how to use his voice like no one else. There will never be another Sinatra, and there will never be another Plant.
i know a lot of people that prefer not to hear plant's voice on led zeppelin records. i mean a lot, compared to other this much famous bands.
This one is my all time favorite song by Zeppelin so great 💕💕👍
@Bubba Hubba I meant all time lol
ABSOLUTELY Marvelous amazing
Just reached one million times on my total for listening to Ramble On !
Finally a drummer that plays this correctly…
Whip those fucking skins baby!
Most people really won’t understand the intricacies of the significance of a level of talent that makes a live sound like this due to a lot of modern live performances being pre recorded, this is one of the reasons Zeppelin is one of the greatest of all times
This isn't rocket science, this is music. You feel it in your bones.
"The intricacies of the significance of a level of talent" 🤓
God if i could go back in time to witness a time when music was made with this much spirit and greatness i would be so happy
I was fortunate to see 3/4 Zep members play back in 96..high school was still good to me with amazing artist's.
Got to see them at the Forum 1975, haven’t come down yet!
You are so lucky
Saw Zeppelin in Tampa 1974. Fantastic concert.
Do you mean ‘73 or ‘75 cause they didn’t tour in 1974
Tampa Stadium I was there!
Was able to see Led Zeppelin twice in Houston. 70 something . Best two concerts ever. hands down. And I have seen alot of concerts in my 67 years.
Fellow Houstonian here! Hope you were there for the both of us, I was born about 30 years too late to be there with ya!
I never saw zeppelin live I did see page and plant when they toured together with Egyptian ensemble spectacular
Sebastian Suarez my
There’s Zeppelin, and then the rest. 🎸💋🎩
Great! Was fortunate enough to get to see Led Zep in concert. Don't remember the date. Too stoned in those days to remember dates. But I can tell you this! It was magical!!
I saw them in July 1977 at the Oakland Coliseum , Day On the Green concert. I was one of 80,000 people that day. They played for over three hours.
Was fortunate enough to catch Page and Plant in Tacoma Wa on his tour. Was doubly good because the previous day saw the Greatful Dead the previous day at Memorial Stadium in Seattle. My ears rung for several days in the most pleasant way 😊
Page & Plant ... and the Greatfull Dead
..... beyond epic
Swear to the drum gods M Lee was meant to play this music and inspire us to achieve higher goals. So much power and ferocity in such a short time, and then he’s gone just like that...He was so awesome. RIP
I saw this on the '98 tour. I cried as I saw my dream of seeing Led Zeppelin happen. Beautiful night.
MAY THE GOOD LORD BLESS AND KEEP OUR NATION FREE!!AMEN!

This is at least one of my favorites...very nice to hear these people and their style that sets them apart from all musicians
I’ve been a LedHead for like 40 years ⭐️
I'm more like 50 ;-)
Phenomenal, the best song✌️🌿
IT sure was, and plant is a great singer lass !.
Nelly, you look great too !!!.

Unprecedented..... past, present, future!!! Will "remain the same"!!!
Dallas 1975. I was 18. Great show.
I WAS THERE!!!!
My selfish wish ... one more tour...!
"Our" selfish wish 😉😎😉
What a great song. Page practicing hours on end as an early studio musician backing up bands and eventually starting Zeppelin.
One of my faves
Keith Richard said: Page is one of the greatest guitarist off all time..hes the cornerstone of led zepplin..
It's Keith Richard Dude. Ramble On 😂
@@Twins1964 Of course 😂🙈
Every October I play this song ..perfect
absolutely the best rock and roll voice EVER heard through human ears! One of if not the BEST rock and roll band of all time,,,so influential in our modern day world to this day. Jason has his fathers licks down to the tee...when the drums come in here, they are thunderous...no doubt about it. Johns sincapated rythems following the guitar are brilliant and Jason was right long John all the time when he was playing. Talking about a role model! Rock on Ledheads!! Rock on
Born too late and too far to ever watch them play live. But in 2017 i saw Plant with the sensational shape shifters in Cymru, went there from London with my my bedsheet saying "i travelled from the valleys of Kashmir to see the golden god sing me the tales of Gollum and the rings"
Best band ever
One of they're best. Love it.
It never gets old.....yeah....
A singers voice will fade but a legendary guitar player will just get better.
Happy and Lucky to have seen them during this tour!
Man, this takes me places I wanna be...
Excellent showmanship page and plant the plant page guys 😅
Best version of this song in my opinion
Jimmy. He fucking loves ripping on this one.
Half my heart is happy when I see and hear Page / Plant. 💔 The other half complains: where's JPJ? where's Bonham? 💔
Bonham died in 1980
Gin Rudy I know he died. I meant I love to hear Jimmy and Robert but I love to hear the four of them playing together when they were Led Zeppelin
Bonham was dead and it's my understanding that they didn't invite JPJ. Just what I heard. I don't know
@@marciashiraishi5891 Marcia darling :)
Tonya Elliott I would like the three to play together - Jimmy, Robert and JPJ ... it would be wonderful to see and hear JPJ
Awesome!
I need more now !!!
that guy with strat looks like Bruce Willis, Vin Diesel and Kane respectively.
That's Porl Thompson, who has played with The Cure before... and after
"In days of old, when magic filled the air"... indeed. Thanks for posting this evergreen classic. Nice to see how this song evolves in all it's versions on YT. This one particularly evocative of the tradition of romantic English folk music. In one of Page's solo and harmonic accompaniments, shades of John Renbourn, Burt Jansch and Pentangle (1:02). And haha at other harmonic interludes, The Doobie Brothers was weirdly present (2:41) :))
'Doobie' Brothers. I see what you mean but this predates the Doobie Brothers so they would have taken that kind of harmonizing from Zeppelin (and others). So glad I got to see P & P (three times), great shows.
@@jpsullivan4845 Yep!
This song is a masterpiece really !!!
seen them on 1977 in ft worth

Just heavenly!
Soundtrack to so many lives, thanks Zep!
Love it!
Wow!
Love this, but if you want to hear them at their best, go back to their early days, much like the Doors and the Stones.
Agreed, but I can't find video footage of an earlier live performance of this song. Do you know of one?
Music doesn’t get better.
Why does Jimmy need a second guitar player ?.. he’s a one man guitar army 😀✌🏻🎸
Jimmy page back in the days he overdubbed his guitar sections one at a time
Sir Tristan - lol! He wasn’t ‘that old’ back in ‘90’s! 😂
Sir Tristan - Yes it sadly does but this was about 15 years or so earlier from when Page & Plant toured throughout the ‘90’s.. I myself have had friends fall into the H addiction in younger years. Lost a couple & thank god a few made it through with recovery. As time went on you’d never know it. Sometimes I think because Page being in such a spotlight situation people just like criticize & make something out of nothing.
I think he looks healthy & he’s one of my fave guitarist.
Have a great day!
Watch “It Might Get Loud” and he plays all the parts himself ✌🏻🎸🇬🇧 Jimmy is just fine, one of the greatest ever 😎
@Sir Tristan I don’t think he was old because in 1995 he was 51, the problem was the life those rock 🎸 stars had, non stopping parties, drugs, tours, a lots of women, concerts, sleeping few hours, I don’t think it’s easy, but they chose it, they knew it.
Saw them in Cincy when laser effects first came out and they surrounded Jimmy
I see Pol from the cure. Saw PP at the LA forum Pols guitar work was stunning
Led Zep were magicians
2020 Covid and the Zepathon. Sitting my ass down.
RAMBLE ON A LEGENDARY SONG ABOUT LED ZEPPELIN 2 EXCELLENT RAMBLING ON.....
Still love it, but not the same without JPJ. He is The King of the bass! He made thing song with that bass line.
Crying...😊❤️🎶🎸

L Z music will live on forever. Can't say that about that rap crap!
You can like one thing without using it as an opportunity to put down something unrelated. Rap has good and bad performers just like rock does,. It’s not a competition, there’s room for both.
It's funny how some Zep fans are close minded when the band they worship looked to the far reaches of popular music, blues, folk, rock, and eastern in order to create their music
In 50 years rap has produced how many great musicians?
@@joeyhuebner10As close minded rocker, I can't think of one. 🤔
I want to hear Vic Flick give it a try
On his Strat🤘😎
Is this the Walking into Clarksdale tour? Brings back memories
Listen to the guitar here then go watch Page from "It Might Get Loud" Exactly the same tone
1979 USN Med cruise
Tolkien would have been proud of this!
Hola
Silver Dome 77
Silverdome you bet
If only they could have built a gravity wave detector in the 1960s or 70s. I wonder x
Where was JPJ?
A voz de Plant em 1995 já era catastroficamente empobrecida . Dizem que canta até hoje , meu Deus !
Yeah he does & he's badazz.
Phew
I think pages voice is decent , but never liked how he changes the songs from the albums version . He created great unique phrasing on the albums , then live he improvises.
I thought that was just me !
ジョン・ポール・ジョーンズ抜きでは寂しい
Savage palm mutes. (Jimmy needed to be amped louder in the mix. This is a guitar-driven song.)
Hmmm...can’t touch the 02 version.
Plant s voice In O2 was awesome
Les paul?
I was surprised how nasally his voice was here, cool performance tho, jimmy still great
Robert Plant, in his prime, was one of the best vocalists in rock'n'roll history. You can hear his voice starting to go around "Physical Graffiti" timeframe. Truly, I wish we could have heard the greatest double LP of all time (Physical Graffiti) performed with Plant's voice from the earlier days. Alas, if wishes were horses. This is a nice performance for those who missed LZ live during their prime.
His 90s voice was trash, no lie.
@@charlesdjones1 compared to 1969 yeah for sure but compared to now its good
@@allenstevens9943 that seems fairly early for his voice to leave, damn
@@charlesdjones1 Nope.
My favorite Led Zeppelin song. Too bad Robert Plant had lost his range by this time. Same thing happened to Ian Gillan. Joys of aging I suppose. Jimmy's guitar work top to bottom on LZII is flat out genius. So creative.
Show me any person on the planet whose vocals don't change progressing from child, to teen, young adult, middle age, to elderly?
What's your next kernel of wisdom, Plant looks older than he use to?
He could have had a virus that affected his vocal range.
@@jeffwisener1378 Sammy Hagar comes to mind. Still has a great voice at 70 something!
@@dirtyharry4649 listen to led Zeppelin 2007 reunion concert at the 02 arena in London. They nail, For your life and Kashmir and Plant sings his balls off whole show.
@@PageCrowes- They lowered the keys for most of the songs so Robert wouldn't struggle at the 02. I don't understand anyone who says he lost his voice, though, he just lost a bit of his high range.
A lot of the later concerts from 96 to 98 showcase Plant singing at the top of his range, blowing this version of ramble on out of the water. It just depends on the night.
Wish they would write some new stuff. Plants voice is gone though. Still, with some creative adaptations, it could be interesting.
I wish they wouldn’t improvise so much. Just play the song how it was originally recorded for fucks sakes.
Go play the fucking record then if you don’t like it
This song is nothing without the bass line and you can never hear it live. It's should be 3x louder than the guitar!
AMY C BARRETT FOR SCJ!
Blew his voice out years ago...
Yeah, he’ll never be anything now 🙄
Doug Zbikowski - Funny, he’s still been preforming up till pandemic & sounds great 🌟
In a strange way this seems like they took Robert's doppelganger and put him up on stage, seems off
What's wrong with his golden voice here?
Plant was already a mess here
Plant sounded like he had a problem with his vocals, maybe he had the flu that evening though!!!.
But still he made a good effort and though it was an excellent performance, so keep it quiet guys.
We had seen worse concert performances in our lifetime.
ya you can join the band but you have to dress like harry krishner
Did Page do anything noteworthy after Led Zeppelin ended?
The Firm, Coverdale and Page, Plant and Page, tour with the Black Crows. Nothing to the profile of Zeppelin but then again how can you top zeppelin
No
Terrible Robert performance. I get the nostalgia part, but this is really not the Robert who broke minds with the original.
KEEP AMERICA FREE!VOTE DONALD TRUMP 2020!
Saw this in LA '95. It bored the crap out of me. Plant's new moves were annoying. Voice gone. Some Egyptian wedding band on the side of stage. It was so goofy. Hated every second.
"...Some Egyptian wedding band on the side"... fuckin hilarious! It is pretty goofy. They were trying to be a little different and unique and it did come off as silly and a little pretentious. I didn't hate it but I definitely didn't care for it... but it's what we got for as close to Zep as they cared to give us.
