100% agree with taking it easy on a new board. I made the mistake of going a bit gung-ho on a borrowed board - a fairly short, reverse camber, noodle of a board when I'm used to a long, stiff & full traditional camber ride. It did not go well and I got hurt fairly badly early on in my ride.
I'm an intermediate and waiting for my Burtom Custom Camber to replace my Rocker - camber - Rocker (beginner board Rossignol Evader). I'll ride like a 80y grandma first hour 😂🤣 I love carving 😍
I was just going to say “stay tuned” as in “keep watching” but realized that might be a bit confusing 😂. But yeah, keep an eye out down the line, got a whole series of board maintenance videos in the works! 👍👍👍
You do not, new boards come waxed from the factory. We actually have a video about exactly that scheduled to go live on the 3rd. As for the edges some people like to do a little "detuning" in some areas (video coming soon as well) but it is not something that is needed.
Just do like Matt said in the video. The transitions won't be too hard. Most rentals are usually flat/rocker and the DOA is very similar with just some camber in between the feet and rocker in tips so a little more aggressive.
that beautiful feeling of strapping to a different snowboard and figuring it out 👍🏽

Good vid! What year genesis binding is that?
It’s an older Genesis with Malavita highbacks
Funny, I literally ordered a new board yesterday. What board is the white one with the skull on it? Looks sick!
That is last seasons Rossignol Juggernaut
do you have to wax a new board or do any tuning?

@@PeterGlennSports looking forward to the 3rd! Same day my new board shows up🤘
Just got my first board with the CAPiTA DOA. Any recommendations on how to shift to riding the camber from only riding flat rental boards?

what bindings are on that board?
It’s a pair of Genesis EST’s but I added a Malavita Wing highback.
@@PeterGlennSports aaa k, thanks. they look cool 😎
