Thank you so much for the tutorial. I bought a Singer Tradition for my daughter for Xmas and had no idea how to get started. Within 5 minutes of watching this we created a pillow, and she is one happy 6 year old!
Your videos provide the clearest instructions. I’ve had my machine a long time but, occasionally forget things and go back to your videos to remind me. For a lot of people it can be small errors that cause major problems, so it’s good to double check sometimes in case something slips your mind. I’d like a heavy duty machine but, the Singer doesn’t have good reviews and I’ve seen it demo’d and it’s noisy and jumpy. Janome seems like a good option but, access to machines to purchase in the U.K. seems limited to certain models I don’t want. Suggestions welcome! Budget wise I’d pay: £250-600.
Oh wow! Ok, I bought this sewing machine years ago and it just kept jamming, so I gave up after I poorly made a dress. Thanks to your video, i realize that I'd had the bobbin case in incorrectly this WHOLE time! Thank you x a million!
I had a problem with my Singer, I was trying to fix it for ages- the thread was bunching up on the bottom and I couldn't understand why. I was ready to get rid of the machine (I have it for 9 years with minimal use) I watched your video of how to put the bobbin correctly and hurray it solved my problem after 10 min. I wished I've seen it sooner, thank you very much ☺
OMG I have been trying to find something like this for over 2 weeks trying to get to sowing a dress for my little cousin!!! You don’t know how much this helped me and it made my mother happy that I actually found something that worked!!!!
OMG I’m a beginner and my seams on the underside were so nesty, it’s only from watching your video that I realised I shouldn’t put the bobbin thread straight through the bobbin eye, but I should thread it like you showed. Did it now and my sewing is looking so much neater. Thank you!!
Basically you turn the round handle on the right side of your machine, which then moves the needle into the needle hole (not sure how to name it 😁) and when the needle gets back up (from you continuing to move the handle) the thread from the bottom compartment is being pushed to the surface out from that needle hole. Now that you have the 2 threads (from bottom compartment and from the upside of your machine) you need to move them to the back left side so you can saw. Also the machine needs to be on - plugged in and also button on the right side pushed to "on". I hope this helped a little! 😊
For those who are having trouble switching back to sewing after filling the bobbin: Slide the bobbin switch over to fill bobbin and back when your done. It switches between powering the bobbin winder thing to powering the needle.
You and your channel have been a GODSEND lately!! I got this exact machine from my sister just a few days ago. I received it used so a manual wasn’t included. Pause the video after each individual explanation. No offense, but she’s making these videos for a broad range of people with varying levels of experience and can’t exactly go in slow motion just to accommodate one or a few individuals... I didn’t get the whole hang of it either after watching just once. I rewatched it and paused it after each step. That would be my suggestion to anyone who feels that the pace is too fast... just saying!
Change the playback speed from normal to 0.75 and that will make it look and sound normal. LOL Go to settings at the bottom right of the video (if an ad is playing have to get out of that or the settings can't be changed for the video). It's suppose to look like a gear but it looks like a flower to me. LOL
I have that particular machine and have to get the supplies, thread, and material I need to use with the machine and see what else I may want or need to get to working. I am a beginner and have never used one before even though I have an old machine which belonged to my grandmother at home.
I have been having problems to get the machine to sew at all and have not been able to sew on sample material due to the machine not sewing the material even though the material is going through like it should.
For those of you without an auto needle threader, you need to feed the thread through the needle from front to back. It’s self-explanatory but, with such a tiny needle eye it’s easy to struggle to see where it needs to go.
For anyone who thinks the pace of this video is too fast: PAUSE THE VIDEO AFTER EACH STEP! You’ll probably have to view the video a couple of times before fully grasping what she’s saying. I just don’t understand how she could explain and demonstrate it any better than she already has! I personally think she did a fabulous job explaining every step 👍❤️😊
My singer tradition was working nicely and suddenly after I did the bobbin with a new thread color the light is on but matching is not working when I press the foot pedal what could be wrong?? Plz help
Thank you for these videos. I am having the jamming issue where there are no stitches and the thread knots beneath the fabric - which pretty much everyone seems to diagnose as poor threading on the take-up lever. But I have been retreading over and over and I am pretty certain I have it right with the thread latched around the take up lever, yet I’m still not able to stitch anything (jamming issue). Do you know what could be going on?
Hold with left hand a flip the bobbin over And in the mechanism then it should turn clockwise Got it thank you Haven’t used this machine since last year 😂
I can’t believe I have been using mine, and when I needed to replace the bobbin I couldn’t get it, I saw this video, doing it and still couldn’t get it. I have spent 2hrs trying and waited until next day to try over again and 👎🏻 I really need to get a close up with high quality video footage to see what this bobbin is doing PLEASE
I'm wondering why the company stopped making the machines so that the left compartment opens to the side? We are threading this blind. It feels uncomfortable.
So when I thread the bottom to the top and I begin to sow the sowing machine gets jammed after a few threads. It looks like it’s getting the thread from the bottom and creating a huge mess still. Any thoughts?
I can’t figure out why I follow all the steps but then when I put fabric between to sew .. it just tangles. Is there a certain way to grab both the bobbin string and the needle string and put it between presser foot?

I could help through this comment section, but it's not actually the best venue for problem solving about catching bobbin thread etc. Although, a few things that are typical issues are: using hand sewing/hand quilting thread or thick thread like for upholstery or button hand sewing, using the wrong needle for your machine (can not use size 18 needles), turning the handwheel backwards, not turning the handwheel a full rotation, not having the uptake lever at its highest before trying to draw up the bobbin thread, not holding the upper thread taunt to pull the bobbin thread up among other things and having the bobbin case threaded incorrectly.
