  • In this #GlobalInspirationalWomen Series Dr Ruby Bakshi Khurdi, founder of RAY Academy Swiss is giving recognition to women who are doing phenomenal & creating an impact!
Ruby in conversation with Ms Hengameh Bolouri, an Iranian-American living in Berlin. She connects and influences the new generation of Iranians. In the past year, she had been sick mostly, diagnosed with Non-hodgkin B- cell Lymphoma Marginalzone in the brain. She had surgery twice in June 2019 and Dec 2019. She recently came back from a 1 month rehabilitation in Wolltzsee in February. She was able to connect with nature and do some self care. Her Journey now is to align my mind and body to stay healthy as both are required. A healthy mind is as important as the body.
What is the key to your success ?
“I am fortunate that I have 1 year to reflect on my life. I’ve concluded I’m a courageous in my life as I’ve not only traveled but lived in many countries. This itself makes one not only become open minded but also adapt quickly to situations. Both survival skills I created in my journey. Another skill I acquired as a hobby was creating networks. Whether it was at a Meetup or on Linkedin, I always saw the good in people. My network grew more and more in Sales after ending my Engineering career. I have 22 years of work experience of which 8 years as a software Engineering and 14 years in Sales . However the actual job as an Engineer was not my desire and talking to people in Sales I enjoyed the most not realizing that the people I work with matters the most to me.”
“I’m lucky to have had a year off to analyze these 22 years of experience and formulate how I want to move forward. I recently started an online coaching program with Jay Shetty. This is his first certificate program where I am part of the founding team and must provide feedback to him which I love to do. Being part of a team, I can orchestrate how to add others to the team as people’s energy is what’s contagious. During the Berlinale Film Festival, I joined forces with an Iranian documentary director and connected him with a Turkish-German producer.
The key to success is reevaluating yourself every 2-4 years and seeing if we’re on the right path before we make ourselves ill, frustrated, unhappy, etc.... Also there should be a balance in what we do. We need to become the best version of ourselves instead of find a niche we’re good at. I am not looking to becoming perfect in any particular area but I do want to master myself and offer a unique talent I can offer to others both in the film industry and as a coach. I’m not looking for a role I can fit in but more like creating the role and seeing who needs my services. I strongly believe the more we become in tune with ourselves, the easier life becomes. It’s all in the perspective.”
Hengameh says - “I can help other women by sharing my story and help support their journey. I most likely can help women with any type of disease or chronic issues.”
