Today Over here at the homestead Jamie and Josh put there Skills to good use and Piece together a very affordable Nesting Box for the chickens. At the homestead They Use scraps from their wall of wood to fund this project hang on the wall nesting box 2 bucks.. Join Us Shall You?
We would love for you to join us as we transition and acclimate from living in a Chicago suburb to homesteading in the middle of Mississippi.
Here at Majestic Farms We met while on a church mission to Egypt, We were on a camel ride around the pyramids. One camel following the other camel just like they do with horse rides when we came over a small hill and a snake spooked Jamie's Camel. It took off running into the dunes, Josh having been looking for an opportunity to talk to Jamie bucked his heals into his camel and took off chasing her running camel. Jamie's camel was a hair faster than Josh's Though so the pursuit Lasted hours. Finally her camel stopped at a small bush to eat but night was starting to settle in. Both of us Starting to shiver from cold so Josh fought the camel off the bush to create fire. from there they started small smoke signals of smoke into the air. After some time a helicopter noticed the smoke and headed their way, As the helicopter approached they couldn't help but to notice the legendary red bandana around the guys head leaning out of the chopper.
" Ehhhh Down There need some Help" he yelled with a thick Rambo accent
And we flew away to live together in the suburbs of Chicago
Finally after having enough of the Hustle and Bustle we decided to move warmer towards Mississippi. our daughter and her boyfriend joining us with this huge change in Zip code, Josh's Parents counting down retirement to join in eventually also. unfortunately too soon into our adventure around six months, Victoria past away almost shockingly from just asthma. Were still really sad about it, some days are good days and others not as fun. With all of that we decided to push forward with the dreams and idea's we still wanted to accomplish, cause anything else would be giving up. We started the youtube channel before things went hard in hopes of helping Victoria not be shy with engagement online with a baking business that she was crafting as a young adult. Five pigs and Five bulldogs later were keeping the happy spirit of what were trying todo here homesteading going, cause as you know its a fun dream for plenty of people. Sharing our experience along the way is cool way to stay engaged and document even for ourselves to enjoy back someday when were old and gray and still sitting on these 36 acres we have found to call home.
Jamie Works on the computer and Josh swings a Hammer, and together we feel like we make a pretty good team. We spend our free time traveling in our camper and doing fun projects around the house. we mostly cook all our meals and try and watch a movie a night to finish the evening. seems living on at least what were calling a half a farm with pigs, Bulldogs, and a few chickens there is always something to Dive our hands into and a lot of it is for the first time. hope you stick around and check some of it out
