Hey Ryan thanks for this video, i will also thank you for all the videos you made about Quant and financial mathematics, i always wanted to have a CFA charter but well, i could not due to many reasons, but still did my masters in Financial mathematics and cleared 4 rounds of interview for a Market Risk job at a large investment bank and i cant thank you enough for your videos during my interview prep. Just keep creating the great content.
Thank you so much for filling me in on the value you have gotten from my videos! It really inspires me to keep making more. Best of luck with your new job and congrats on the role
Hi Ryan, Great video as always. I was wondering if you have any knowledge of the financial models used for investing in Non Performing Loans. I've an interview in the area coming up and I've no real background knowledge or experience. Many thanks,
Thank you! The closest video I have made to this topic is a video on Probability of Default, Loss Given Default, and Recovery Rate for loans. I hope this one can answer some of your questions: ruclips.net/video/otZ2C2KjdVM/видео.html
Not sure if I agree with your guys point on failing CFA Level 1. I have heard a lot of people say “if you fail once you should just stop”, “the program is likely not for you”, etc. After passing Level 1 on my 4TH attempt (!) I can say it’s all about process and how you prepare, not so much intelligence. I have a finance background, but most of the material was not covered in my undergrad and I did not work in a portfolio management position until I passed Level 1. So, I think it comes down to finding your own way to prepare, and then apply that to the rest of the remaining exams.
Wow, congrats on passing Level 1 and landing the job in portfolio management! Have you gotten through Level 2 and Level 3? If so, did you not find Level 1 to be quite easier than either of those levels?
@@jaker5230 Good luck with Level 2! You will have to come back after you have taken the exam and update us on whether you think Level 2 is more difficult than Level 1. And thank you for that, I appreciate it!
@2:22:00 - without asking for specific financial advise: wouldn't it be wise to setup an company in a country like Luxemburg and run business over there on paper, to avoid capital-lockin?
I respect Mark and his videos, they definitely helped me in level 1, but @1:37:53 just seems way off base. Level 1 has gotten easier but yet passing rates have gone down? And I don't think it's responsible of you to speculate that CFA is compromising the integrity of the program just to get more people to sign up for level 2 registration fees.
He is intimately familiar with the curriculum (more so than just about anyone else), so he is pretty qualified to notice if the curriculum is changing in a way that it becomes easier. And while it may seem contradictory, the pass rates could be lowering, while the curriculum becomes simpler, simultaneously. This could be explained by the average candidate studying less or being less prepared overall. Or the minimum passing score being raised. As for my speculation, that was just a fan fiction tin-foil hat theory not to be taken seriously.

It’s really clear how much he loves animals. DOGS AND CATS! Lol
Haha my friend said the same thing!
Just noticed the check mark on Mark's hat is pretty hard to see. He should change the colour of the check mark, or the colour of the hat!

All I'm saying is that the videos on MM level one videos that aren't MM I don't rly listen to.
This is some very valuable feedback. I'm curious to see how well the company will do when he is gone
What percentage of them aren’t MM? Wondering if the course is even worth it considering if mainly be buying it for MM videos
isnt his latest video him still?
