3D beast being 3D beast. His skills are absurdly high. I honestly don't know what type of mind is required to comprehend such material, put it together, construct a version of it and then TEACH IT at a very high level of accuracy.
This channel is a true tour the force on parametric architecture. I wish him full success in his career and THIS channel. I'm doing 3D every single day to reach such level of comprehension. It's the only way to get it.
Thank you so much kummer. Same wishes to you on your journey.
agree.
Excellent bro, you rock. Thanks.
fantastic logic, Right ON!
Thanks
GREAT WORK!
Thank you! Cheers!
10:26 I don’t think I have the bounding rectangle component! Is there an alternative or can I use bounding box?
Thank you for this amazing tutorial 3D Beast ! I still have a problem at 6:59 when I do the flip curve i have an error : "A closed curve cannot be compared to a linear guide" can you help me please ?
it was hard to do tbh because of one thing i coulndt find the bouling rectangle i was able to only found the the bounding box and it made the whole thing looks awful haha but i gotta try one more time i guess
Can you make a sequel for this tutorial? Like for example make a series of those columns with various coordinates, some are close to each other, and so on.
How did you get this equation to create boundary rectangle?
Thank you very much!!
Regards fromUruguay
Thanks Mateo
Thank you so much for the tutorial!! I wanted to ask What do I have to do so I can make a facade with this mesh-structure?? I want this structure to flow all over a prism (that would be the building) like a lattice. I just need the mesh to keep going over the sides of the prism (that would be the walls). I can't get it done in grasshopper
first convert your wall into triangular patterns,(tri-remesh component help u here ) then from the triangle u can create the patterns
Hello:) Great job! As someone proficient with grasshopper, in the last few days I was struggling with the Broad Museum. I challenge you!! to try making it yourself. All attempts i found on the internet are trash.. the facade panels are not that sophisticated, the problem is with the corners. The facade panels are going in different directions on the adjacent sides, it can be hard to notice at first. All the panels seem to be one type.
Thanks Ivan, I'll give it a try.
in the video at 12:30,I think it would be more great,if you offset curves behind project curves.
Hello, can I use bounding box instead of bounding rectangle? Will it work fine?
Hi, what is the plugin you used for align the gh components, whenever you move gh component there are "guiding lines" that appeared?
SnappingGecko
nice one
Very nice😀
Hi, which plug-in did you use for the bounding rectangle component?
pufferfish
hi, when you connect the trim with region component to the curve component, why do the two horizontal lines at the bottom get trimmed (5:35 timestamp)? is there a way to fix that?
connect XY plane to P(plane ) input
which unit are you using at the rhino? Millimetres, meters or centimetres? Do the values that you are giving in the number slides have units? ı have a problem with the value that you are inserting at 12:15 value=2.000. When I use the command of a project, it disorders the body of the column.
In the video, I'm not using real-life measurement units to focus on the visual aspects of the modeling process. You can set the Rhino unit to any unit you prefer (centimeters, meters, inches, etc.), and this will make all the number slider values be in that unit. If you're having trouble with disorders in the body of the column, try using smaller offsetting values or try a different approach. create two different surfaces by offsetting the original surface. Then project the curves onto the surfaces and create a loft between them. "
4:07 After you join all the curves, how did you get the lines to turn from black to red in the rhino viewport? I couldn’t get it to work, will this affect the rest of the model?
I just baked the curves to see the result., then hit Ctrl+Z to undo the bake. It didn't affect the final model.
Hi! first thank you for this tutorial! I am a student and I highly appreciate these! In minute 13:17 in getting an error while offsetting, it says data conversion failed from Brep to Surface, I don´t know how to fix or where the error could be! thank you!
Hi, you need to install pufferfish plugin and use its offset surface component
What exactly are you doing at points when you select nodes then changes occur in rhino e.g.
1:36 and 1:03?
ctrl + Q hide preview
Hi! At around 12:30, when I connect the loft component to the project component, it creates a triangular plane with the curves created with the prune component around the central hexagon. It doesn't look like what you have on the screen- what can I do to fix this?
i got the same problem, did u know how to fix it?
I had the same problem. You need to be in the top view when he switches to top view at around 12:04
How can I do this with a morphed surface made on rhino instead of lofting 3 curves on grasshopper at the beginning. I want to start with a surface I made on rhino basically. Please help.
What is the plugin for that improved offset Surface node? is it Pufferfish?
Yes Pufferfish
Hi! Thanks for this very helpful tutorial. I’m getting stuck on the loft at 13:00 and it’s turning out very messy and chaotic. I have pufferfish and I believe all of my other parameters are set correctly.
Never mind! I figured it out!
@@johnhouseman3546 Nice Thanks for the update!
I have the same issue with the loft, how did you solve it?
@@3DBeastwhat was the solution? I am also stuck for two days in a row, can’t figure it out:(
Thak u!!!!!!❤
You're welcome
what type of graph are you using for the graph mapper? i cant see which one you select even slowed down to .25 speed. Also, what is the purpose of using the relays?
Conic, hover over the graph type and press C.
@@3DBeast Thank You! I thought that was the case but when i select conic there is no change to my range of circles no matter how i manipulate the graph mapper
@@coryconstantine4670 may be u miss something when u following
Hello .. I've been following your instructions till you get to use "bounding rectangle" plug in cause I couldn't found it what's the solution , please?
you might not have installed pufferfish properly
Hii excelent video! Im stuck in minute 6, in my param viewer none of my curves have 2 items in them :(
try connect "Xy plane" component to "Trim with Region" P input
Hi, i have a problem in 6:29 with extend curve, i connect everything like you do and mine still light in orange. Can you tell what i have to do to fix it?
what the waring says? (bubble icon on the component )
@@3DBeast Input parameter Curve failed to collect data
@@beatawrobel1695 u disable some nodes by mistake, check out gray components and enable them
@@3DBeast thanks, it works now :)
I have a problem in 5:38
Hi, i can't seem to connect two inputs to boundary surfaces on 11:09 is there any way i can do to make it work?
Oh, i found out i should press and hold the shift button.
@@syifaamaliakhairunnisa6196thank you! I just needed that one!
Which software are you using
rhino-grasshopper
Really cool Stuff but I got stuck at the begining when you inverted the polyline for some reason I tried and it would not let me
connect the "Boolean toggle" component to C input and set it to True.
@@3DBeast thanks for the help im futher along the video now, (@11:10). for some reason it will not let me connect the geometry from the rectangle AND the list index from the circles to the same boundary surface. it will only take one
@@jeronimoreyes9398 Hold shift while you connecting
@@3DBeast I feel stupid, hahaha, this is a really cool design i really want to see it work, I'm fairly new to grasshopper so I'm making some begginer mistakes but going through it has taught me a lot. Thank you for all the help
@@jeronimoreyes9398 I'll make sure to keep new users in mind when creating the guide.
How you connect two inputs in 11:10 i cant join both
press and hold shift to connect the second one.
10:26 bounding rectangle😊 i dont have what the solution
just install Pufferfish plugin
Anyone knowns where to get bounding rectangle ?
pufferfish plugin for grasshopper
Well this is amazing, but not definitely for start to learn. 😅I am incredible lost. But nice.
I have plan to make a tutorial for Starters. Stay connected
