I struggle with time and filming. So many times I wanna just work 20 mins on something and don't feel like doing 10 mins of camera set up to do it. Love doing the RUclips thing, but sometimes I just wanna work and get some stuff done. Filming everything really slows down the progress train. LOVE y'alls videos. The filming, editing, and music is great. I consider what you do as an example of what I want to achieve with my videos. I'm just not as knowledgable and a bit more goofy . Thanks for sharing this super cool ski project.
Appreciate the compliment and support. We find the same struggle to be honest. This RXX has been held off many times because we wanted to film content to potentially help others when it could have been done long ago. Keep making content when you can and people will appreciate it. Thanks again for the appreciation and support.
Great channel, I really enjoy your builds, it takes me back to the good old days. But I gotta say a couple of small things regarding a “runway throttle”: First - they are caused by a lean condition, Second - pulling the plug caps or turning off the fuel will not help, Third - yes pulling the choke and/or opening the throttle to full will both stop the runaway throttle immediately, Lastly - it usually occurs when you shutoff your ski out of the water w/o a load. Just speaking from personal experience in being around, carbureted seadoo’s, most of my life. You are absolutely right the RXX pipe was a real PITA.
All correct which is why I said “ can happen when clearing it out or during winterization. The customer this is for had it happen to him and had primers. He pinned the throttle and pulled the dess but by the time it quit it was too late. I also said that pulling the plugs will not do a thing. Also easy to get a lean condition when the fuel is off and or low causing the gas to slosh back while clearing it out on the ramp. Seen it may times at the river.
Great restoration on this ski I've got two of them but I've been wanting to figure out how you did that carbon seal/carrier bearing swap I'd like to get more info about it cuz I want to do it to my skis
Is that still that Challenger you rebuilt? I guess you chose to keep it! I've got the same year and same boat and I want to do the same thing to it. I guess I understand why you didn't want to get rid of it. That thing screams I've got the single jet though with the 240 horse
Not sure we will be doing a grey ghost were focusing on a couple race X4 builds and a vintage race ski restoration. Possibly in the winter maybe we will look for one if people want to see it

Thanks, confused by the comment you like or dislike the choke knob? lol
@@TodayWeWrench oh typo, to me it stands out weird when looking at all the other body lines. I wonder why seadoo picked right there for it 🤷🏻
Good to see boys!

Où trouver l échappement libre pour un rxdi svp?
turn fuel off and hit the throttle. kills runaway every time.
That’s great if it had a fuel selector.
Sweet build man!, When are you guys doing a grey ghost?
Not sure we will be doing a grey ghost were focusing on a couple race X4 builds and a vintage race ski restoration. Possibly in the winter maybe we will look for one if people want to see it
Where did u get the decals?
PWC Graphics, Mike Stowe it the owners name. If you tell him you saw his graphics on Today We Wrench he will help you out
Do you guys know where I can get a new hood for my RX
You wont be able to find one new, you will have to look for a nice used one
Maybe a stupid question but are they only specific to the rx body or can I use one from like a gtx?
Link to throttle lever?
No longer made. We are doing a video soon on where to get stuff that being reproduced. Keep a eye out for it in the coming weeks.
the gray 97 1/2 gsx limited had accelerator pumps , terrible being the guinea pig 4 seadoo with that hookmaster. terrible pump
When they work they are great but for this build it wasn't necessary thats for sure
Iam just start mine rxx today this thinks are noise makers 😂
BRAAAAAAPPPPP
