Interesting solutions here! Both stormshelter and vault room at once. However am worried that for "proper" tornado shelter few things were ommited(at least in this video I hope?!) First and foremost the anchoring system in use?! Than I noticed there are no L or full profiles on the corners?!? (which greatly dimminish structural strenght) And lastly the door opens outward,and the shelter is modular(i.e.bolted together),both things a big NO in my book.
All good points. Its possible to reinforce the Vaultpro unit by welding the additional reinforcements into the corners and adding more bolts to the flanges. Not to mention good foundational anchoring. An outward swinging door is far stronger than an inward swinging door against impacts and attacks, (The security bunkers that I have seen had outward swinging doors). Adding reinforced structural elements around the doorway area would protect from debris blocking your egress.
