Things I have made note of since producing this review: - Butterfly doors (not scissors) that can be operated and held open using a lever under the engine covering - The other 1:8 scale vehicles also had paddle shifters - Splitter is on the front - diffuser on the back - The open red axles on the back are for black pannels that were left out of in the instructions - I have them as spares - The blue pins do indeed hurt the eyes - The cockpit sorta looks like a mess with random colors/pieces visible and giant holes in the floor - The packaging, new pieces, print, and Ferrari name have indeed made this a very high priced set
11:48 those exposed red axles you see next to the wheel are supposed to hold the leftover black panel fearings (that you probably have) because lego somehow forgot to put that step in the instructions. Look up racingbrick if you wanna know exactly how theyre supposed to be placed.
exclusive box style, new modls, only prints and high price. That's the closeset set which deserves to be called premium product that lego ever made I guess. but still some blue pins in red surface are disturbing my eyes :P
Seeing you build this in the other video was wicked. I can't believe you finished it in two days but then again you have experience with Technic builds too. I like how everything's divided into three boxes to keep things in order. I hope LEGO keeps doing this with other massive vehicle makers and I appreciate how the specs plaque is printed as that just adds more pizzazz to the set. You did an awesome job on this and great review. 👍
The two missing pieces goes in the back under side one on each side they are the diffusers piece 21 and 22 and if you open the engine compartment there are levers to push to open the doors
Just purchased one of these a few weeks ago. I only started building Lego products a couple of months ago, but found that I love the Technic builds. Took a jump into the deep end with this one though. Hoping to not screw up because fixing a screw up you did at step 5 when you are all the way to step 100 would not be fun. I limit my time to work on Lego to Friday and Saturday evening to stretch out my build time.
11:47 you are missing the two panels that connect to the red axle parts at each side. If you need some more clarification Racing Brick pointed this out in his video.
The exterior has so many custom parts that it's almost closer to a model kit than a Lego set, haha. But it's necessary given how aerodynamic the styling is. This will display nicely next to my Porsche 911. 👍
It got released in the UK yesterday 1st August i went and got mine today 2nd haha! really looking forward to the build! Its going to sit nicely with the Lambo.
How come the model does NOT have the brake calipers but features them both in a picture in the 1st book and even on the box!! I was really looking forward to the calipers :(
I recommend watching RacingBrick’s video (at least the end) about a mistake they made in the instructions and promotional images for two of those wing pices for the underside of the car.
Don't know what it is that I don't like about this one, something just feels a bit off and it doesn't hit the same as say the green Lambo, which is my favourite of the big technic vehicles. Not sure what it is, the car irl is very cool but somehow I don't get the same feeling looking at the lego version.
Agreed, I'm not sure what exactly is new here other than a big printed plaque? Paddle shifted gearboxes have been done before, butterfly/scissor doors done before, v12 vs Bugatti W16. Wheel base looks a bit off as well to my eye. Quite like the suspension but I still prefer the Lambo. I have all 3 previous cars and will no doubt get this when it eventually goes on sale for about 40 to 50% off for completeness but just a bit disappointed.
I have the latest lambo sian and Bugatti chiron. One thing I noticed (and am hopefully totally wrong) is that the gearbox, drive train, paddle shift etc seemed very similar in the build. Almost a copy of each other. If that is the case, and this Ferrari is same, then i'd be paying £250 for not too much different. Can you confirm the whole of above is different for all the cars, or especially the Ferrari?
Hey Jordan. This might be a dumb question, but do you get sets like this in advance simply because of the success of your youtube channel? Has your channel fostered a direct relationship with LEGO?
The part on the front is a splitter, the back is a diffuser, don’t worry I’m a nascar fan and only learned of defusers a few years ago while knowing splitters mostly for catching grass in the infield and destroying nascars
I love the sp3 Daytona. I think they should do the enzo and laferrari Because the old ferrari enzo is pretty bad and with new elements lego can make it more realistic
Yes, they should! But they won't. Because these cars ARE legends, BUT they're not current models of companies. So the companies won't pay lego for this. But if VW will pay enough lego could make a supercar version of new Golf. Why not.
I have a dumb question. As someone who has never put one of these Lego kits together, how much am I biting off if I purchase this as my 1st set? Is it that demanding talent wise, or is it doable by a complete novice? It does look sharp as all get out though.
I bougth the Bugatti as my first set. its not difficult to put together. You just have to spend a lot of time on it and make sure you are doing everything correctly. I spend 5 hours once trying to figure out where I made a mistake. So just make sure to place the bricks correctly.
It's very doable to build this as a novice. You just need to pay attention to what you're doing. Even more experienced builders realise they made a mistake every once in while and have to retrace a lot of steps. (Technics can be a nightmare to disassemble and trying to get it back toghetter). But most mistakes are usually made during the gearbox assembly. Which isn't really a big deal !!! Because the set is to big and heavy to play with and for most people it's just to put on display. Who cares if the wheels turn in opposit directions or something locks up inside because you made a tiny mistake somewhere in the gearbox. In the end it doesn't mather...because you'll just be displaying the set. It's these premium technics sets thay rekindled my love for Lego. They are awesome and fun to build. Now, I've been into lego again for about 3 yrs and the Bugatti Chiron was 1 of my very first builds. And I managed to put it toghetter flawlessly... without any mistakes. As I novice, just take your time. To build a set like this, it will probably take you about 20 hours start to finish. A cheaper option is Cada. Also they have very nice models at about 1/3rd the price of Lego. The quality is almost as good as Lego itsself, but it can be a little more difficult to build as the instructions are printed smaller and they have less colours of parts and pins. So it can be more difficult to see what goes where. Just be prepared that you are going to spend a lot of money, because these are fun to build and addictive !!! It never stays by 1 car !!! If you buy and build this...chances are you'll like it so much you're gonna want to go get the other models as well. Before you know, you will buy the Bugatti Chiron and the Lamborghini Sian as well 😉
@@Catch_me_if_you_can_666 if you’re referring to the wheels with a differential, the wheels are meant to turn opposite ways (only when you turn one wheel at a time the other should turn the other way to be specific). But if they’re somehow turning opposite ways while you’re moving it or they turn the same way while having a differential, then that’s a problem

Ferrari can something! That's for sure! But if I should make a decision between buying the Lamborghini Sian and this, I would buy the Sian, it looks a little better to me, but I'm probably biased because of green is my favorite color 😅 but man, did they do a great job on this set!
I don't know why, but something about this set looks off to me. It doesn't look like either of the other cars, and I can't put my finger on it. It seems more like a fan-built MOC then a Lego set. It's still incredible, but it just looks off...
No luggage? Not worth the price. jk. I noticed your steering wheel was off centre compared to the centre button, is this just a technic feature? My Land Rover and Sian both have off centre steering wheels and it seriously triggers my ocd and I want to make them straight with the front wheels. June 1 is going to be an expensive day for Canadian Lego builders with this and Optimus coming out. Which one will I build first.
Why charge more money for less?!? The sian had unique remote door mechanisms, remote spoiler adjustments and dual differentials/4wd. This is a cash grab. Adds nothing justifying the price increase. Very disappointed.
Looks so good! Nice review. But wauw, they still use those ugly blue technic pins? They made all new print pieces, nice rims but still no black technic pins :(

It's so different from the other technic cars, especially the rims, like, to finally have a specifications plaque, that's really genius

I believe the flat black piece on the bottom of the front end would be called the "chin spoiler." The diffuser would be in the rear of the vehicle.
AKA front splitter
That is going to look great on my shelf!
Also the first Technic car to have paddle shifter that did something to the engine speed (wheel speed) is the Porsche GT3 RS set 42056
