Huge aircraft and huge ship landings are definitely a thing of beauty when done so well.
Do you think people are able to build a ship as huge it can be a self efficient place to live , with plantations, solar systems? Simply an ARK

Great coverage. I really didn't expect to watch all of it but it's so cool to see all the moving parts. The communication and coordination that must go into getting this thing docked. Love seeing those low-profile trucks carrying the containers too.
Can you imagine, it's just a dot/spot in the Ocean!
Evergreen shipping employee got 40 Months Annual bonus last year, so crazy.
The logistics behind loading this ship in a balanced manner must be insane.
Very huge but the OOCL is the queen of the sea 🌊
this thing can carry 23,992 20-ft containers (TEUs), compared to Ever Given's 20,124 which is in the family of the 14th largest container ships. If all of the Ever Ace's cargo was loaded onto a train, that would be almost 6,000 cars
thanks, saved me doing a lot of counting,

Seems cheaper and faster with less loss and down time easier to fox make 2 ships carry same capacity. Assuming the loaders spread load of each container out 😂
Makes me wonder how large would container ships grow if sizes of ports or canals weren't an issue.
They already are not an issue if you spend the extra time going around the continents which sucks but also the smaller the ship the more ports it has access to and there's many ports that will never be big enough to take the biggest ships so is it really even worth it? You could just build an extra ship that's smaller and keep the port the same size and it will have a broader range of ports it can go into
🇧🇷 quero vê-lo no Porto de Santos, Brasil.🇧🇷
how much water does that displace? a grain of sand in sea level rise= cumulative effect. thousands of giant ships, hundreds of artificial islands, pumping most of the everglades dry, pumping holland dry, lava flows into the ocens and on and on.

Evergreen Class A container ship Taiwan Evergreen Shipping👍👍
if we put all 2400 containers on lorries the line of lorries would be 204 miles. if there were no room between the lorries.. that is longer then the M4 or the M1.. however if those lorries were to keep the minimum safe distance between them (UK Based info).. the convoy of lorries would be.... 1394 miles long. which would equate to THE WHOLE M4 motorway both sides if it had three lanes all the way being full of these containers on lorries.... THIS is how to explain the economics of scale
Höher - Schneller - Weiter = Dümmer.
So cool seeing this first hand POV, such a massive ship, it's a slow process but very cool for those of us who dont work in shipping but are still interested in how things work.

Magnificent, but somehow almost obscene. The size is incomprehensible. Twice the weight of an American aircraft carrier. One of her slightly smaller sisters blocked the Suez Canal in 2021.

Nothing less than freaking amazing!! To think at charging a $2000 fee for shipping just 1 container from China to the US (and that's pre pandemic cost) this ship fully loaded with 24,000 containers would be making $48 million for one way ride. I've heard costs of up to $20,000 now and that would be like $480 million for a one way ride! Unbelievable!!
we were quoted $16,500 to ship a container from Japan to Canada lol the prices are INSANE!
I have 15 containers of consumer fireworks being shipped from China. In January the cost was $11,000.00 per 40 ft container as of today the price is $45,000.00 per container with another price increase expected before the end of the year. And this is just the shipping only not the product.
@@Rex739 That is totally ridiculous, these shipping companies are making a killing just like the vaccine manufacturers, billions and billions!
Now think about the Captain's responsibility. Including all goods on board and the worth of the ship itself, that's probably more than a billion dollars
Now that China got everyone to locate their factories there, the Chinese can call the tune on shipping all those goods to market. Maersk will be only too happy to go along for the nice, fat ride.
Aha finally,the playstation 5 arrives.🤣🤣
It was the green that caught my eye then I realized I was looking at one of the Evergreens. Just had to stay for the whole thing. What a beautiful ship and I'm sure Samsung Heavy Industries, the makers must have sucked up all the green paint in Asia!
Bigger than the Ford class carriers in all regards. Very impressive. The sail effect of those flat sides is tremendous as we saw when its sister ship gave the Suez Canal a wedgie for a good while.
Equally impressive was the confidence, deftness and incredible power of the tugs, finessing it one way or another and finally tucking it in like a baby in its crib and just as gently.
I'd love to know more about those tugs???

ASMR is bullshit.
Where did you get the "Evergreen" clue from ?
While the sight and finances of these ships have now become staggering in proportion the real miracle takes place not so much on the water but on land, simply marshalling enough containers in one spot to make a voyage profitable is a logistical nightmare for road and rail haulage to contend with. Simply finding sufficient floorspace at ports prior to the ship's arrival is a gargantuan task and beyond the capacity of most ports alone. People look at these ships as marvels but fail to understand they are just the visible portion of a worldwide enterprise in simply getting them to sea at all.
C’mon! at the moment it’s more convenient to carry 20,000 containers per trip than 6000 or 10,000 divided into three or two ships...if there was a contraction in export and/or or a manufacturing recovery in Europe these ships will end like dinosaurs....In the meantime, some ship gets stuck...
If there are such big ships, what is the reason to have fright costs 5 times more expensive than in 2019 or begining of 2020?
Speculation bro
Empty containers stuck in Europe becasue Asia Pacific have not been buying to balance trade with Europe and the US.
@@bigdarbs19 at this point Sep 2021 thats an excuse bro. They made record profits. If there was truly a shortage I wouldn't be a le to find containers. Guess what I can book 50+ from my end as long as I pay 12k+
Inflation. Governments around the world have massively increased the money supply. Someone has to pay for that.
Time is money
I love how they have specifically stacked this ship so all the Evergreen containers are on the outside, so all you see is Evergreen, and the. They have hidden the others on the inside.
I wondered about that, whether all the containers are theirs.
I’m thinking all of the containers are EVERGREEN.
You can see the different colors between stacks
Brad Ingles Not all Evergreen containers are green. They do have some that are other colors like the brownish ones on the inside of the stacks. I probably hauled thousands of them.
Your right. When looked at from certain angles, you can see different color containers. Nice advertising job on their part is all.

Nice! Now - imagine all those containers "down under" -i.e. on the other side of the "globe", still hanging on to the ship for their bare lives... - Large bodies of water are always level, and the earth is... flat.

@@MegaLivingIt And not only the ship as a whole, but how is it possible those boxes dont fall off in a storm....
Such a great looking monumental piece of machinery. Great footage!
Crew quarters looked miniscule in relation to the ship, but then, looking at them, it is really a 6 story apartment building. Also? Those tugboats pilots have some mad skills - understanding how to nudge something with that much sheer mass.
Kudos to the crane operator who stacked all green nice looking containers visible, and the ugly ones in the middle.
That was a once in a lifetime deal, it will never be that pretty again
Bloody Hell that is terrifying the size is incredible How can the Captain see out I expect it is all computers that steer the ship
At 2:13 and 11:40 you can see, the containers are "sloped" at the front, but in front of the bow, there is a large blind spot/angle. There are also cameras and radar etc., and yes, computers help to steer, there is also an autopilot for open sea. But in the end, the crew must have the skill and possibility to steer manual if the techs fail.
-Let me present our greenest ship!
-It uses heavy oil, it won't be that green?
-We added coloring to the fuel
Whenever it sails full load the sea level rises by 6 ft
After looking at the thumbnail I was like "that must be a click bait photoshoped image".
I was wrong!
Even the tugboats are excited about it, proof that size really does matter! hahaha

Evergreen is biggest shipping company in Taiwan 🇹🇼 and No.6 in the world.
The largest Taiwan shipping company !
This ship isn’t scared of the waves in the Ocean. The Waves are scared of this ship
These ships are 400 m long. Their hulls are a flexing structure, not monolith. Big storms in the middle of the ocean are quite dangerous for them, because of the huge waves. The distance between two waves is shorter than the length of the ship. So, when the bow and the stern are on top of two waves, the midships is above the ”depression”, and the water level is way below the floating line. This makes the whole hull to flex, considerably, because they can't build a totally rigid hull with this dimensions. So, the specs given to the operator, the captain, contain recommendation on how to navigate depending the sea state, what course to maintain in relation to wave direction, and the maximum sea state the ship can handle without causing structural damage. In reality, there is nothing in this world built by humans, which can totally withstand the power of the sea.
I'd love to have a vehicle that would carry her sound horns!
Yes! A dream of mine to somehow get a huge ship's horn into a small car! It would probably scare the s**t out of people and cause accidents. Still want one!
