I have a genuine question Eli Yoder. There are people out there who believe the Bible itself to be a man-made translation of the ancient stories passed down from the time of Christ and before. If the Bible is translated from ancient text and stories like the King James Bible is, wouldn't that make the Bible itself a function of man's church and religion? At some point, a man took these stories that were often written in ancient languages and converted them into modern languages using their best translations available at the time but it has been proven that some of the texts have used language that was not able to be translated correctly or was miss translated on accident. If the word of God has been mis translated by men, wouldn't that make the Bible itself a source of religious control? What do you think about this Eli Yoder? I genuinely want to know your opinion. Well, it depends on the translation. If you look at major cults like Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, or Catholics, they have their own special "translations." When the King James Bible was being translated, the Catholic church had not yet finished working on their Douay Rheims bible. So in fear that the KJV would be released before their translation, they published half of the Old Testiament with the New Testament. The reason they were so scared is because The King James Version was translated from Greek, and didn't use the common Latin interpretations of words that the that were so common among Latin translations. Words like "Penance" in replace of "Repent" (Matthew 3:2), "supersubstantial, " in place of "daily bread" (Matthew 6:11), "full of grace" in place of "highly favored" (Luke 1:28), and just various changes that depart from the Greek language.
I'm not eli but I can explain. A lot of pastors that I know and churches that I know have a intense passion to know what Jesus or anyone elts mentioned in the bible actually seid. ( Even when in most cases it is not extream ). So most of these churches I know make it a habit to look up certain words and phrases in the original text to have a second or third interpretation of what was seid. It's a regular practice where I'm from and it should be.

Even if the original founder had a perfect Biblical teaching, is there any guarantee that it's passed down undistorted over numerous generations and hundreds of years? He confronted Jesus, stating that he's knowd he's not the true son of the Abraham God. When Jesus's disciples where praying. Jesus laughed and asked why they're praying to an "evil" god. Again I only heard it once. Can't remember the exact writing. I personally believe there's some truth in different religions, even what the ancient Egyptians believed. But in all the writings that's only the tip of the iceberg. I don't believe in church. One of the things I would like to see is a cup of coffee discussion on religion, theories, and spirituality.

@@kinthecountry4301 Titus 3:10 is another good example. The King James Bible correctly instructs us to reject a HERETICK after the first or second admonition. The NIV and many other perverted translations replace "heretick" with "divisive person", which means we should reject Jesus. In Luke 12:51, Jesus identifies himself as being divisive. So-called modern English "bibles" are Vatican-inspired counterfeits!

King Hezekiah was one of the greatest of the good kings. His successor, his son Manasseh was evil.
