this is legit the best animation i’ve seen on this webbed site and i’ve seen a LOT. Incredibly expressive with popping colors and immediately establishes the dynamic of the two characters immediately without even trying - You can see the yellow person clearly on edge initially when the ghost is playing the piano and is in fact mostly timid around the much larger individual who is more freeform and progressive in what he does (hence the literal reality warping that he does to maintain a grip on the man). There’s also an interesting shot where you see him initially as a human, explicitly spelling out that this was not what he was originally like. There’s a lot to talk about in this animation but I think what especially shines is how fluent it is. With the simplistic character designs it’s beyond easy to do this and I think this is a very smart choice. I love this so friggin much.

dude i don’t know what it is about this oc (the ghost one) but he has been responsible for breaking like 10 peoples computers at this point i swear i’m not making this up
before i type all of this it is very long, with a lot of spelling mistakes, and if you dont wanna read it, dont! So since i am also an artist i know a bit about poses, emotions, and most importantly the colorwheel !! So in the beginning we get introduced to a ghost and what looks like a disheveled worker. The painoist seems calm but has a small smile his face covered which gives the viewers anticipation. Also the fact that the worker is smaller than the painoist which is giving a power struggle towards the painoist. Which can be interpreted as, “its my paino, my control over you”. Also not to mention that the ghost is portarayed as a fluffy haired man who seems childlike in personality as the worker is just done with it. But after a few more seconds we see him reveal his eyes which he has a delirious face as he tries to explain why he isn't a bad person, why he just some random ghost even though there is clearly a power struggle seen. You can see that he is just trying to explain himself ‘as not an average human being’ but as he says this he has a wicked smile and almost looks delirious as he explains he just some random ghost who happens to be with this worker who is smaller and in his world not the workers own The ghost can be seen as a controlling attention seeking guy as he explains that he could either be the protagonist or antagonist but not anyone else. Which further contradicts on how he says he did nothing wrong. Both of these are suggesting that he cant accept that he is some sort of side character which may be a result to the controlling and possessive deamnor that he has in needing attention. Remember this is all shown in childish ways like the stereotypical villain outfit. This probably means he copes in humor and has a childlike attention needing personality. Now to the last few seconds we get a close up of a shirtless man in front of a metal door with only a slot of light. This is actually seen where they used to keep psychotic patients in the time before where they thought they couldn't be fixed these can also be seen in max security jails. We don't know this man yet but I suspect it may be the ghost because of the blue eyes (i will get into that in a second). The shirtless man clearly seems suprise and quite scared as soon as he see’s this worker,but before the worker can get a good look he is plucked by the ghost. And we already know that the ghost might using humor to cope and that revealing dark memories dosent really seem his style. Okay last paragraph but COLOR Theoryy!! So if you didnt know blue and yellow are complementary colors which means there oppisites on the wheel. But yellow is known for being bright but it is on this small disheveled man as the cool blue is on this hyperactive boy. If you didnt noitce all of the scenes including the city is shades of blue. Suggesting that its the ghost world not the workers. At the end he says ‘you have to like me’ so possibly it means that if the worker dosent play or comply with this ghost he might possibly be stuck (theoretically and literally) Anyway sorry for the long paragragh!!

ahh thanks so much :D!!! the extremely truncated explanation of these ocs is that the small yellow guy (theo) is a descendant of a long lineage of exorcists, but he wanted to live a normal life and chose to leave all that stuff behind. along the way he accidentally released a very powerful ghost (the “main character,” pazu) that had been sealed by theo’s ancestors, so now pazu dedicates his afterlife to haunting him as revenge for that :-] there’s a lot more to them but i shan’t get into it in a youtube comment hehe

Why do I feel like Pazu was once a normal human being until a tragedy hit his life and killed him. Just for him to return as a ghost whose beyond human understanding.
The shots and transitions are wonderful and the character acting is AMAZING, but my favourite part is about 0:22 to 0:24 “I’m the gap between a TRAGEDY and COMEDY” where it goes from.. it looks like a scene from when Pazu was alive (LOREEE) at “tragedy”, the ONLY “dark” shot in the video, back to current Pazu at “comedy”. It’s SO good yet goes by so quick, I love how you used the lyrics of the song throughout this, the whole animation is so good!!!! Came back inevitably to watch this AGAIN and realized that I completely forgot to mention that, at some point in one of my rewatches, I noticed the cute ghost BG at 00:13! AND how the eye at 00:23 transitions so smoothly to the spotlight behind Pazu, which is so smart and clean and definitely my favourite detail in this animation. Love noticing smth new every few watches :’D (Theo’s eye transition does something similar with rectangle of the door I think? Not the same effect and may not have been entirely intentional but still directing the flow using shape language. This whole video flows so smoothly from one scene to the next 💚)

thank you! i think it took 9 days, maybe 10? a lot of hours of animating went into those days though lolol

The shots and transitions are wonderful and the character acting is AMAZING, but my favourite part is about 0:22 to 0:24 “I’m the gap between a TRAGEDY and COMEDY” where it goes from.. it looks like a scene from when Pazu was alive (LOREEE) at “tragedy”, the ONLY “dark” shot in the video, back to current Pazu at “comedy”. It’s SO good yet goes by so quick, I love how you used the lyrics of the song throughout this, the whole animation is so good!!!! Thank you for sharing and I’m very happy it introduced me to your Tumblr 💚
Came back inevitably to watch this AGAIN and realized that I completely forgot to mention that, at some point in one of my rewatches, I noticed the cute ghost BG at 00:13! AND how the eye at 00:23 transitions so smoothly to the spotlight behind Pazu, which is so smart and clean and definitely my favourite detail in this animation. Love noticing smth new every few watches :’D
(Theo’s eye transition does something similar with rectangle of the door I think? Not the same effect and may not have been entirely intentional but still directing the flow using shape language. This whole video flows so smoothly from one scene to the next 💚)
