Wow, thank you. I work on these sets and I am always so curious. I am always talking to the grips and lighting guys about how and why they do what they do. I find this all so fascinating, and I love being in this business. Thank you again!
Honestly, I am shocked at how shaky the actual commercial is... I know it is client demand, but it distracts from and doesn't feel authentic. As a DP, this drives me insane. As a professional I know just to shoot it to spec and move on to the next project. Great breakdown Matt! Touching on stipple bounce was great! Keep it up!!!
Really enjoyed your video. I'm not a photographer or cinematographer, but I love learning about the hidden, creative skills and planning at play behind the things we see all the time but we take them for granted. Thanks!
Thank you so much for these Mat! Do more commercial breakdowns, especially special segments. Maybe food/tabletop/high-speed? Also big industries and stage builds.
Amazing breakdown as always Matt! Keep doing it. Commercials are always very helpful to learn, specially the big ones! Nice man! Hope I meet you one day in NY to say hi!
Fashion Films, will pay the bills and you could make great cinematography there. May be you could make some videos about fashion films, it would be nice. Greetings from Colombia.
Completely random...but if possible can you provide an amazon link to the Blue Yeti shock mount and the articulating arm you are using? Thanks. If not, that's cool too :)
Do a Vlog about the sparkley shiny kit of glass you have, man :] Might sound insignificant, yet I've been searching for good stuff like that for years..
Great video. May I ask what DP stands for? My native tongue is Dutch. If I google DP I get a type of action involving three persons. I don't think you mean that?
Indeed. Cinematography Database Fan: "High end commerial cinematography is all about soft light and low contrast." Image: Shows blown out window and underexposed black armchair.
Wow this was awesome. Thanks for the breakdown!

Damn, this one is very inspiring. That inside look at the industry. This really helps decide a path to choose when getting into cinematography.

Watched the commercial. The hand held camera movement looks so bad in my opinion. Not sure why they wanted it like that.
