The idea was that with the small rims these side by sides run, the wishbones had to be very close together, meaning they had to be extra strong as they had to endure a high buckling load. By moving the wishbones further apart the buckling load decreases and it seems like they did their homework, cuz it’s a beast.
The original design/patent has actually been around for many years, it's a great idea, Can-Am just dug it up and decided to put it to their own use. I WANT one!
So was the other can ams. Not a believer myself. But feel free to buy yours. What I did like, was the transmission. But they need to do some tweaks to the transmission as well. Stepping on the. Rake to go into reverse? Have you been watching Can Am?
Not saying I'm ready to buy one tomorrow but this was impressive, and looking to see how it performs overall. UTV Guide just took it through the Maze in Sand Hollow, I've heard its not that great crawling, I'll get behind the wheel of one soon but overall its growing on me, and curious to see how long the 4 seater will end up being. Their drivelines are exceptional so I assume this will be the same.
We saw you pulled off the road in Hurricane and just wanted to say hello and let you know we’re big fans. Thanks for posting good content! Hope you were ok?!?
You don't know anything until you find out for sure. Unless you personally inspected it afterwards, you just don't know and neither do I. Also, even if it did bend something, that's part of the game. You want performance? It's going to be a little more fragile. You want toughness? It's going to be heavier and slower. I'd say this machine strikes a pretty good balance between the two
That front end is insane by the looks at handling stuff but man it’s ugly. If I had the time money and resources I’d try to take the new motor out of the maverick and put it in an older x3 with like a blown motor. I just don’t like the looks of the new unit but hey I’m only in highschool r so that’s the dream
From my understanding when I watched that race. The Mav R did not finish. They had to pull it out and finish the race in the X3. He finished in 2nd place at KOH. Not easy. But it was the $30k X3 that took him to the finish line and not the $60k Mav R. It was a good race.
They ran the X3 in the 4400 class as it was tested and ran 37's. The Mav R won the UTV race... I don't think the Mav R suspension can accommodate 36's, which I believe is a class rule for 4400. The car was new too so they didn't have a ton of time, curious to see their game plan for this year. Several Mav R's in Dakar...
@ Yes to the Mav R can not handle 37” tire. 35” tires rubber so bad that it was causing problems with the steering. He complained about it in the race. 35” tires are to big for it do to the suspensions top A arm. It rubs hard. At least that’s what he was complaining about in the race saying something didn’t feel right.
No matter how much money they pump into buying influencers to prop up this mistake, it’s going down as a blunder. Canam had so many options to knock the Pro R out of the water.
@ it doesn’t perform any better than the other regular x3s… and if that design were to be “superior” why hasn’t the industry adopted it? It was a gamble of a marketing scheme, that failed.
@ everything has a breaking point and I mean everything, even bullet proof vest. If hit just right.. as I said, if they were superior, you’d see them in Baja Trucks suspension. Let’s face it, Canam got lazy and that’s the best they could do.. like an IPhone getting a 4th camera lens 🤦🏿♂️
Notice how the entire suspension is actually changed...... pretty ignorant to speak on anything performance related as far as I'm concerned everything has been changed up its a fully custom race machine with ultra high clearance suspension components..... stock machine would not do this....
Lame!!!!! For the price of these stupid UTV'S you can build a rock crawler, truggy or sandrail that will eat this things lunch and never break. You're all outa line
Go do this and report back.... I can't understand people commenting on things they can't do/ wont do/ haven't done. Regardless of line choice he was top qualifier of the most prestigious event, which led to a win..... Why the hate?
@@ChupacabraOffroad I actually do these things...have for decades. Not one single person would pick that line willingly. He got lucky in that specific situation and the fact he didn't end his entire weekend in that moment is a miracle. Can't comment on the rest of the race.
@@s2pointoh KOH and ultra 4 are the only places you find ledges? No I haven't travelled 3000 miles to drop this specific ledge. You nut swingers are hilarious. Doesn't even look like he picked a line...lol. Just go and blow. 💯💪
That's what I thought at first too, and if true that makes the car even more impressive IMO
Cash Lecroy talked him into just jumping it pre race
That’s the funkiest double wishbone I’ve ever seen, but damn that thing is taking a beating.

Funnily enough some bmw suv are hiding a spindle and upper control arm like this
The original design/patent has actually been around for many years, it's a great idea, Can-Am just dug it up and decided to put it to their own use. I WANT one!
Wow! That's one sick unit
Works very well , built tough apparently loved the slow mo

So impressive
How you drive when all your parts are sponsored
It would be nice.....
Watching this after the 4 seater was announced last week 😂
I’d pay to see someone try this in the 4 seater 😂
@ChupacabraOffroad only if there's 4 persons in there😅
Rzr guys be like oh man it just does more stuff….,
Kyle Chaney.., “hold my beer”
He was the big dog for sure at KOH
Hell yea. I’ll sell my pro xp with HCR long arm kit the second CanAm releases the 4 seater

those tires hit the mantis arms soo hard its almost like hitting the brakes..
Do you think it hits?
@@ChristianHernandez-tz8ecit DID hit. They had 3 flat front tires.
@bobbyb608 Yeah, because them hitting those rocks at that speed would never blow a tire!😂

You can't tell me that thing isn't bent to hell and back after that though...
Definitely out of spec and a couple parts need replacement.
The next day he raced and kicked everyone's ass in it..... so

Ken Block helped design those Can-Am’s
No
Did he?
👍🏼
And just like that the four seater has been revealed
They must have used a computer for the design . But it's working. How much $ for one ?
Have you used google yet ??? Try it
They start about $35K for a 2 seater....
Watch it at the Dakar rally
KOH- King of the Hammers
Looks like it's rubbing on the arms
I agree, but he still won the race, impressive.

There is absolutely no reason to have the upper arms exposed or shaped like that.
Geometry rules
There certainly is: Geometry/suspension/braking loads.
