which is true. We can't jump into conclusions when half of us have never met them and everyone knows nothing about their idols besides how they act on camera. Of course, there are times we have to step in to get an explanation for something. It's just hard to be a fan and completely trust someone you don't really know. This is why I was and still am afraid to venture deeper into k-pop despite having quite a number of groups I stan, the possibilities of them being not who we think they are haunts me. 🙃
Or like me they thought it's a coincidence (aka when they all held hands and hyunjoo got left out at the begining) or that were just tired or out of it (like when they look zoned out /disinterested). These compilations can only be made AFTER a scandal pops out because the truth is...most of us won't know unless it's that obvious on camera.

Maybe those idols were not as mature before creating more ruckus now that there's a lot of in-group bullying being exposed. Imagine getting bullied by someone you are supposed to stay with for so long. They are together like 24/7, 365 days(mostly). Getting bullied constantly for so long would be so exhausting both physically and mentally. I can just hope, all of them(bullied idols) are okay.
I can't imagine the pain they had to go through. I used to get bullied by my teacher in school for 1 year and so my mental & physical health got extremely bad. I couldn't take it for 1 year imagine these idols going through sh¡t for several years. Huge respect for them

To be Honest, bullying in Korea is the issue, especially in schools...it's scary to think about all the bullies that actually got careers and influence later on...
I think this is something that is not addressed because of the Korean hierarchical system(how people are addressed and basically assigned a role in society of how they can be treated) plays a huge role in why bullying is so rampant. The hierarchy and social class/status go hand in hand. I really hope this can be seriously addressed. I feel bad for the youth and all who are victims of bullying.
School Bullying is an issue worldwide. However according to a Unesco report i think that i read a few years back, i don't have it at hand, it's actually comparatively rare in Korea, among the least prevalent in worldwide comparison, and forms that culminate in physical violence are exceptionally rare! Compare that to Lithuania or Ukraine where at least 40% of kids experience severe bullying in a given month and something like 10 or 20% i forget have physically injured their schoolmate on purpose in a given year. So there are a lot of countries with 40-70% bullying rate, USA+Canada are somewhere in the 25-33% region, Sweden closer to 15, Korea stands better than Sweden, at around 10%. You also can't accuse Korea of ignoring the issue, since a number of regulations, laws and measures have been launched over the 20 years to help mitigate bullying, perhaps the most extensive worldwide. Of course being less prevalent and better handled in international comparison doesn't make it a problem to be ignored, it's severe to those who experience it. i think i looked up all these things when flor_us (recently disbanded for economic reasons) released Masquerade, their first song, topic of which was bullying. I don't think it's wise to make up your image of a society from what it portrays in fiction.
Fans should stop assuming groups are automatically close. Getting put in a girl group is the equiv of a teacher putting you in groups in class. Sometimes you get lucky and are with people you like and sometimes not. They have to live together, work together. If you don’t like someone you can’t avoid them. Doesn’t make it okay to bully them though…

I´m from Brazil and there´s a korean youtuber that lives here,she´s really famous between kpop fans. She said in one of her videos where she collaborated with a male korean youtuber that lives here too that she admires how brazilian women are so used and not ashamed to compliment and help other womens, we are always hyping each other up. She said that in Korea it happens a lot between korean men but not between korean women.She said they are always so worried about looking beautiful and inside the Korean standards of beauty that when they see another woman looking more beautiful or receiving more attention, they get easily jealous and starts hating them without even getting to know them. That´s why most of them don´t compliment each other and end up in bullying, because they see each other as competition. And i think that´s why it happens a lot more in girl groups rather than boy groups.

And only bcs DSP knew she would be popular and the group needs her charm. Which also played part in the whole bullying thing I guess. She supposedly begged the agency to not debut her in this group. And yes since her brother posted her medical records about her trying to S-word herself it definitely messed her up big time.

Jimin is literally the only person I’ve ever seen get cancelled in Kpop I’m honestly just shocked. I can see it happening in boy groups. I kinda think it happened in exo back when they had 12 members (think they all got closer after kris, luhan, and Tao left). I think the groups that have the most lasting success are groups that genuinely like each other. AOA always had a dynamic where the girls were just colleagues, not friends. That’s why they never grew as artists and why they fell apart when choa left.

True. I was bullied by all my teachers and a lot of school mates. I was body shamed and humiliated in public. Which is why I rarely attend school every week, always late at morning ceremonies, church mass, don't attend school festivals and stuff. I developed severe anxiety and depression to the point Nov 2019 was the last time I left the gate at my house. I lost interest and became lazy in school and going out. Though, 2020 I was home studied.

It's very common for people to be mistaken as "lazy" when they are actually depressed. People call unmotivated others "lazy" because they're too caught up in their own problems to properly look at said person and put 2-and-2 together to realize that they might actually have a problem and need help. The truth is: it's easier to accuse someone of laziness then it is to take the time to actually care about somebody other than yourself.
I can say that this is true. When you're being socially left out and you feel useless to the people around you it is possible to feel even more depressed and more likely to want to hide away instead

“Bullies gain strength from silence.” One thing I’ve definitely noticed boy groups saying is, “Oh yeah, we fought at lot at the begining/as trainees.” There may be something there about how boys are quicker to lash out about injustices and quickly resolve slights before they get too big. Where as girls may sometimes avoid confrontation and let bad behavior grow while bottling emotions until that becomes the norm. The longer that goes on, the harder it is to stand up to mistreatment later.
Girls from a very young age are constantly trained to act nice even if that meant to hide their real self... Thats why girls don't fight like boys do, resulting in hidden grudge and lot's of drama

I've been watching all of their appearances on variety show etc since the beginning of their career, since then I've seeing some of them treating her like hyunjoo from april and only jimin stood there for her.. jimin probably wrong for bullying someone, but there's definitely untold story about seolhyun... she was so popular back then until the scandals hit her like a truck and it's looks like some of the members so happy about what happened to her, until one by one the members departed from the group.. it's looks like seolhyun finally be able to breathe, too bad it was so short... even tho disband is the only way for aoa, telling her side of story is not against any laws :(

tbh I doubt it's only girl groups. Korea has a big problem with bullying, and with all that militaristic thing going on, I won't be surprised there is as much bullying in boy groups as in girl groups. Just that we haven't heard a single one of them because it would look "unmanly" to speak up... I also kind of blame the system. I honestly cannot understand how idols work AND live together with the same people. For the majority of us, if something goes awry at your workplace, you can relax at home and forget everything. Yet here, you're constantly pushed to the limit. I'm kinda sad I always bring them up, but he's the only one I know who has been that open: Key from SHINee. He himself said that SHINee didn't have the best of relationships when they were living in a dorm, but once they separated, they became bffs. So yeah, I feel that might be a good step to improve the situation for idols in general

Bullying being tackled by the popular fictional media is also something that is done as a mitigation strategy, to make victims seek help and not feel alone - as a media company, you can get government grants for advancing social causes. Though it remains human nature, so all mitigating measures taken together aren't going to come close to preventing it entirely. And yet it's a fight worth fighting. But yes, it can potentially be more difficult to judge male groups whether they have some kind of bullying or exclusionary behaviours like seen here, because they have an overall much more reserved presentation. Close bodily gestures and touching are common to girl groups, so for example i suspected that Nayeon might be a bully, but at the end, i'm not worried since i have seen every member invite her to sit in their lap and vice versa, which shows that everyone is at deep comfort with her.

Once again, if bullying is *not* reported, then how can it be measured? I do admit my words come from anecdotes. Every Korean I've meet have had a bullying experience. I live in Japan, so it's not just one or two people, but of course it is not the full picture. Even less in comparison with other countries. But being completely honest? I don't think it is that relevant... I just wish abuse, in any way, shape or form could be diminished. No matter if they are the first or last in the rankings
I honestly think bullying isn't that much heard or seen in boy groups because let's be honest here, girls get jealous over other girls easier than boys; this is all because of (mainly) beauty standards society puts on us women, emotions are seen to be more linked with women while for boys is strength or power, so emotions like jealousy are easier to be felt by female idols than male idols. I think for guys when they have issues going on they would fight or scream at each other and then talk it over, while girls won't say "sorry I'm just jealous you're prettier or you sing better or have more fans" or whatever, so the issue or feeling only grows bigger, because it isn't talked about nor resolved. I say this because I have way more male friends and overall I've interacted with males way more than with women and I've noticed it is easier for them to talk about everything and even comfort each other and I don't see them badmouthing each other behind their backs as I've seen with girls (this also depends on how close girls are with each other but I've seen it's really hard for women to open up to other women for fear to be disappointed or "back stabbed" so they mostly trust only one true friend), so to me it's easier for boy groups to resolve misunderstandings and not have bullying scandals (this depends obviously on how close they manage to get, but eventually they warm up to each other as seen with Monsta X's I.M. or SJ's Kyuhyun, who weren't really liked at first by their respective groups for the fact that they got into the groups last, when a friendship and bond had already been set, however the members of their groups warmed up to them and now they're loved and spoiled by them.
Agreed but I do think girl groups have more bullying because the matter of looking good, being the best, standing out are things that have been drilled into the heads of many female idols to the point where a lot of them are made to think that without looks they are nothing. Wanting to be the center of attention are things that are just generally more visible in female idol bullying cases . With guys the problem is harder to come by because they have fights openly that solve the problems before it grows.

please for the love of god stop spreading the lies that 4minute bullied hyuna. they all loved each other and were like a family. yes the disbandment did originally strain the friend ship but all the members have liked pictures supporting hyuna's comeback last year. Both Hyuna and Jiyoon were having comebacks and Jiyoon shared that she thinks Hyuna is a solo singer that has already succeeded and hence she has lots to learn from Hyuna. Upon hearing that Hyuna was also facing health issues right before the comeback, Jiyoon shared her well wishes, hoping that Hyuna will recover soon. None of the girls hated each other so please don't mention 4Minute in comment sections under these types of videos. They are not in contact any more but there is no animosity between any of them, they are simply not close anymore.
Imagine how sad it is to work your back off as a trainee and then being put in a group where you're mistreated. The girls who got bullied deserve so much more respect.

I think the reason why girl groups tend to have a lot of bullying involved is because women tend to be harshly criticized & barely praised compared to men. so the girls must’ve been through a lot as trainees & later let out their anger on the one they think is like a pushover or who’ll let it happen.
I agree maybe the management played a part in probably comparing the girls to each other hyunjoo being the visual the other girl were most likely jealous. But that still doesn’t excuse it.

Usually the producers and the company decide who sings what and who suits the song better. It could be that the team felt like her voice didn't suit the concept
i can imagine that ggs may have more bullying incidents because of how easy it is to be pressured and stressed by the industry. it doesn’t help that if a girl becomes jealous of another girl than that feeling will likely never go away… i hope we as fans can support victims of bullying and hold people more accountable. and i hope in the future that companies will take bullying issues much more seriously and properly.

It really is more prone in girl groups mostly because we girls have this quiet competition within ourselves. We always (even unconsciously) try to compare ourselves to other girls, whether the dress you're wearing, your perfume, your shoes, your grade, voice, EVERYTHING!!! We're not insecure "for unknown reasons," like the reason is that society lives off comparing women against each other, whether over appearance, personality, talent, etc., and we internalize that and start doing it ourselves. Even this whole designation of "visual" within groups is kind of ridiculous tbh, like all of the girls are already pretty, to go ahead and designate one or two members as "the pretty ones" is obviously going to make other people feel insecure. There are even girls who think it's fine to model their entire personalities around "hating all other girls" (pick-mes, for example). I think it's the consequence of years of society promoting female competition [for male validation] instead of female solidarity. I wouldn't say that means men never "bully" each other--look at standard locker room/prison hierarchical cultures. But yeah, men do tend to deal with their interpersonal problems in much more direct ways, while women have to resort to more backhanded channels like bullying.

So girls/woman found their own ways around that (the negative emotions were there after all) and you will find them gossiping and ridiculing (destroy others reputation), being extremely mean but in subtle ways (thus undermining others self-esteem) and all these things.

Im correct, whenever I watch them, the other members glare at hyunjoo like they are disgust or something! I really hate that girl group. First I really support them cause I like their music, but it really bothers me how they act around hyunjoo and rachel. So dissapointing!

I think boygroups probably have issues like this too. They're more open about their dislike though lmao. There are some groups where I feel the interactions are quite toxic.. or groups like Suju that are known for how much they hated Kyuhyun when he first joined and while Teen Top didn't gang up on one member they just simply disliked each other for a long time. There was one group called Pure Boys who even got some members charged with assault (and extortion) for beating one of their members frequently. It's best not to believe everything they act out on screen and remember that it's a competitive industry which pulls strong personalities.
I was thinking boy groups could in many cases be hiding it better since their presentation can be more reserved, you don't exactly expect them all to sit in each others' laps.

I think it happens more often in girl groups cause they get the most pressure and criticism from the public as well as constantly compared to other idols. Girls groups definitely have to deal with a lot more which creates more internal competition and stress

I think the reason why it's more common in girl groups than boy groups is that girls are taught to be meek and tend to bottle their emotions which makes the offender feel stronger and builds up more toxicity, whereas, we often hear about how members of boy groups tend to fight each other a lot pre-debut and that makes their relationships healthier, because they talk it out, let out their frustrations and resolve any issues they have, all because they're not forced to act as "appropriately" as the girls are.
Where are girls taught that at? I'm just curious. I see quite the opposite. Men are told to keep their feelings to themselves because they're acting like a girl otherwise, whilst women are allowed to say how they feel and people respect them for speaking their mind

This is why I get so uncomfortable with certain idols. I hate everytime they praise someone for being """"sassy"""" when they're just being disrespectful assh*les. There's so many idols out there who are blatantly rude to others _(not always members of their group)_ and get no consequences or show any repentance whatsoever. You go on a TV competition show like X-Factor or The Voice? You sign away rights to any and all social media for 10 years, so they can use you to make content, but you can't use them as a springboard for your talent, not in a way which makes you independent of their system.
I begin to know April when I started noticing Naeun from “extraordinary you”. I thought she is the visual until I found out the existence the former member like Hyunjoo. Naeun instantly became the visual after Hyunjoo left the group. Naeun was so pretty back then but not anymore when compared to Hyunjoo. I used to wonder why they aren’t not successful. It must have been because of their wickedness.
Personality is important to be an idol. As I love kpop for over 12years until now. I notice that the most idols with beautiful personalities are successful in Kpop industry.
Mina from AoA is still suffering from all this bullying. People brush bullying off not realizing what damage this kind of behavior can cause, especially to someone who already has such low self esteem. Add the pressure of being a “perfect” idol and these girls are set up for disaster.
From what I've read, what Jimin did to her was very cruel. Not just the normal bullying or being rude. And this was for 10 years. Not sure why the staff and her teammates didn't speak up.

In kpop there are definitely many bullying cases, it’s mostly because of jealousy(more popular, talented etc.). Some of us may not realize it but even I groups that seem to have good chemistry there are probably many Conflicts or bullying, they may seem to be great friends but it may all be staged.

I've never been familiar with this group but Hyungjoo seems like such a sweet girl. It made me furious to see those clips where other members get together to mock or snear at her. I've had this done to me and it is awful. Don't send hate to anyone, but it's important this horrible behaviour is recognised.

I always have a trust in the bonding of each YG groups and they all have one of the most beautiful and realistic family relationship in K-Pop so I hope that too continues in TREASURE. I feel like they've gotten a lot closer and each of them have a secret bond like they're all close but some members don't really displayed their affection to certain members on camera. I see no awkwardness or negative feelings to their aura and I think that is why they are all so playful towards each other.

The reason why a lot of red flags go "unnoticed" is mostly because many of the acts can be interpreted as "oh they are very close so they can be mean to each other".
which is true. We can't jump into conclusions when half of us have never met them and everyone knows nothing about their idols besides how they act on camera. Of course, there are times we have to step in to get an explanation for something. It's just hard to be a fan and completely trust someone you don't really know. This is why I was and still am afraid to venture deeper into k-pop despite having quite a number of groups I stan, the possibilities of them being not who we think they are haunts me. 🙃
Or like me they thought it's a coincidence (aka when they all held hands and hyunjoo got left out at the begining) or that were just tired or out of it (like when they look zoned out /disinterested). I think this is something that is not addressed because of the Korean hierarchical system(how people are addressed and basically assigned a role in society of how they can be treated) plays a huge role in why bullying is so rampant. The hierarchy and social class/status go hand in hand. I really hope this can be seriously addressed. I feel bad for the youth and all who are victims of bullying.

School Bullying is an issue worldwide. However according to a Unesco report i think that i read a few years back, i don't have it at hand, it's actually comparatively rare in Korea, among the least prevalent in worldwide comparison, and forms that culminate in physical violence are exceptionally rare! Compare that to Lithuania or Ukraine where at least 40% of kids experience severe bullying in a given month and something like 10 or 20% i forget have physically injured their schoolmate on purpose in a given year. So there are a lot of countries with 40-70% bullying rate, USA+Canada are somewhere in the 25-33% region, Sweden closer to 15, Korea stands better than Sweden, at around 10%.
You also can't accuse Korea of ignoring the issue, since a number of regulations, laws and measures have been launched over the 20 years to help mitigate bullying, perhaps the most extensive worldwide.
Of course being less prevalent and better handled in international comparison doesn't make it a problem to be ignored, it's severe to those who experience it.
i think i looked up all these things when flor_us (recently disbanded for economic reasons) released Masquerade, their first song, topic of which was bullying.
I don't think it's wise to make up your image of a society from what it portrays in fiction.

Fans should stop assuming groups are automatically close. Getting put in a girl group is the equiv of a teacher putting you in groups in class. I´m from Brazil and there´s a korean youtuber that lives here,she´s really famous between kpop fans. She said in one of her videos where she collaborated with a male korean youtuber that lives here too that she admires how brazilian women are so used and not ashamed to compliment and help other womens, we are always hyping each other up. She said that in Korea it happens a lot between korean men but not between korean women.She said they are always so worried about looking beautiful and inside the Korean standards of beauty that when they see another woman looking more beautiful or receiving more attention, they get easily jealous and starts hating them without even getting to know them. That´s why most of them don´t compliment each other and end up in bullying, because they see each other as competition. And i think that´s why it happens a lot more in girl groups rather than boy groups.

And only bcs DSP knew she would be popular and the group needs her charm. Which also played part in the whole bullying thing I guess. She supposedly begged the agency to not debut her in this group. And yes since her brother posted her medical records about her trying to S-word herself it definitely messed her up big time.

Jimin is literally the only person I’ve ever seen get cancelled in Kpop I’m honestly just shocked. I can see it happening in boy groups. I kinda think it happened in exo back when they had 12 members (think they all got closer after kris, luhan, and Tao left). I think the groups that have the most lasting success are groups that genuinely like each other. AOA always had a dynamic where the girls were just colleagues, not friends. That’s why they never grew as artists and why they fell apart when choa left.
I guess its the mistreatment from the management that made KrisTaoHan left. They are really close to each other. But then, yes, we do not know the whole story.

True. I was bullied by all my teachers and a lot of school mates. I was body shamed and humiliated in public. Which is why I rarely attend school every week, always late at morning ceremonies, church mass, don't attend school festivals and stuff. I developed severe anxiety and depression to the point Nov 2019 was the last time I left the gate at my house. I lost interest and became lazy in school and going out. Though, 2020 I was home studied.

It's very common for people to be mistaken as "lazy" when they are actually depressed. People call unmotivated others "lazy" because they're too caught up in their own problems to properly look at said person and put 2-and-2 together to realize that they might actually have a problem and need help.
The truth is: it's easier to accuse someone of laziness then it is to take the time to actually care about somebody other than yourself.

“Bullies gain strength from silence.” One thing I’ve definitely noticed boy groups saying is, “Oh yeah, we fought at lot at the begining/as trainees.” There may be something there about how boys are quicker to lash out about injustices and quickly resolve slights before they get too big. Where as girls may sometimes avoid confrontation and let bad behavior grow while bottling emotions until that becomes the norm. The longer that goes on, the harder it is to stand up to mistreatment later.
Girls from a very young age are constantly trained to act nice even if that meant to hide their real self... Thats why girls don't fight like boys do, resulting in hidden grudge and lot's of drama

Korea has a big problem with bullying, and with all that militaristic thing going on, I won't be surprised there is as much bullying in boy groups as in girl groups. Just that we haven't heard a single one of them because it would look "unmanly" to speak up...
I also kind of blame the system. I honestly cannot understand how idols work AND live together with the same people. For the majority of us, if something goes awry at your workplace, you can relax at home and forget everything. Yet here, you're constantly pushed to the limit.
I'm kinda sad I always bring them up, but he's the only one I know who has been that open: Key from SHINee. He himself said that SHINee didn't have the best of relationships when they were living in a dorm, but once they separated, they became bffs. So yeah, I feel that might be a good step to improve the situation for idols in general

Close bodily gestures and touching are common to girl groups, so for example i suspected that Nayeon might be a bully, but at the end, i'm not worried since i have seen every member invite her to sit in their lap and vice versa, which shows that everyone is at deep comfort with her.

I do admit my words come from anecdotes. Every Korean I've meet have had a bullying experience. I live in Japan, so it's not just one or two people, but of course it is not the full picture. Even less in comparison with other countries.
But being completely honest? I don't think it is that relevant... I just wish abuse, in any way, shape or form could be diminished. No matter if they are the first or last in the rankings
I honestly think bullying isn't that much heard or seen in boy groups because let's be honest here, girls get jealous over other girls easier than boys; this is all because of (mainly) beauty standards society puts on us women, emotions are seen to be more linked with women while for boys is strength or power, so emotions like jealousy are easier to be felt by female idols than male idols. I think for guys when they have issues going on they would fight or scream at each other and then talk it over, while girls won't say "sorry I'm just jealous you're prettier or you sing better or have more fans" or whatever, so the issue or feeling only grows bigger, because it isn't talked about nor resolved.
I say this because I have way more male friends and overall I've interacted with males way more than with women and I've noticed it is easier for them to talk about everything and even comfort each other and I don't see them badmouthing each other behind their backs as I've seen with girls (this also depends on how close girls are with each other but I've seen it's really hard for women to open up to other women for fear to be disappointed or "back stabbed" so they mostly trust only one true friend), so to me it's easier for boy groups to resolve misunderstandings and not have bullying scandals (this depends obviously on how close they manage to get, but eventually they warm up to each other as seen with Monsta X's I.M. or SJ's Kyuhyun, who weren't really liked at first by their respective groups for the fact that they got into the groups last, when a friendship and bond had already been set, however the members of their groups warmed up to them and now they're loved and spoiled by them.
Agreed but I do think girl groups have more bullying because the matter of looking good, being the best, standing out are things that have been drilled into the heads of many female idols to the point where a lot of them are made to think that without looks they are nothing. Wanting to be the center of attention are things that are just generally more visible in female idol bullying cases . With guys the problem is harder to come by because they have fights openly that solve the problems before it grows.

please for the love of god stop spreading the lies that 4minute bullied hyuna. they all loved each other and were like a family. yes the disbandment did originally strain the friend ship but all the members have liked pictures supporting hyuna's comeback last year. Both Hyuna and Jiyoon were having comebacks and Jiyoon shared that she thinks Hyuna is a solo singer that has already succeeded and hence she has lots to learn from Hyuna. Upon hearing that Hyuna was also facing health issues right before the comeback, Jiyoon shared her well wishes, hoping that Hyuna will recover soon. None of the girls hated each other so please don't mention 4Minute in comment sections under these types of videos. They are not in contact any more but there is no animosity between any of them, they are simply not close anymore.

I think the reason why girl groups tend to have a lot of bullying involved is because women tend to be harshly criticized & barely praised compared to men. so the girls must’ve been through a lot as trainees & later let out their anger on the one they think is like a pushover or who’ll let it happen.

We're not insecure "for unknown reasons," like the reason is that society lives off comparing women against each other, whether over appearance, personality, talent, etc., and we internalize that and start doing it ourselves. Even this whole designation of "visual" within groups is kind of ridiculous tbh, like all of the girls are already pretty, to go ahead and designate one or two members as "the pretty ones" is obviously going to make other people feel insecure. There are even girls who think it's fine to model their entire personalities around "hating all other girls" (pick-mes, for example). I think it's the consequence of years of society promoting female competition [for male validation] instead of female solidarity.
I wouldn't say that means men never "bully" each other--look at standard locker room/prison hierarchical cultures. But yeah, men do tend to deal with their interpersonal problems in much more direct ways, while women have to resort to more backhanded channels like bullying.
@@an-eh2wn Boys compete too with each other. But they can do it openly. But society has told girls/women for ages, that we have to act nice. So girls/woman found their own ways around that (the negative emotions were there after all) and you will find them gossiping and ridiculing (destroy others reputation), being extremely mean but in subtle ways (thus undermining others self-esteem) and all these things.

I think boygroups probably have issues like this too. They're more open about their dislike though lmao. There are some groups where I feel the interactions are quite toxic.. or groups like Suju that are known for how much they hated Kyuhyun when he first joined and while Teen Top didn't gang up on one member they just simply disliked each other for a long time. There was one group called Pure Boys who even got some members charged with assault (and extortion) for beating one of their members frequently. It's best not to believe everything they act out on screen and remember that it's a competitive industry which pulls strong personalities.
I was thinking boy groups could in many cases be hiding it better since their presentation can be more reserved, you don't exactly expect them all to sit in each others' laps.

I think it happens more often in girl groups cause they get the most pressure and criticism from the public as well as constantly compared to other idols. Girls groups definitely have to deal with a lot more which creates more internal competition and stress

I think the reason why it's more common in girl groups than boy groups is that girls are taught to be meek and tend to bottle their emotions which makes the offender feel stronger and builds up more toxicity, whereas, we often hear about how members of boy groups tend to fight each other a lot pre-debut and that makes their relationships healthier, because they talk it out, let out their frustrations and resolve any issues they have, all because they're not forced to act as "appropriately" as the girls are.
Where are girls taught that at? I'm just curious. I see quite the opposite. Men are told to keep their feelings to themselves because they're acting like a girl otherwise, whilst women are allowed to say how they feel and people respect them for speaking their mind

I mean Disney alone creates such a huge wake of destroyed lives behind itself. So many Disney child stars have had their future ruined and became mentally severely ill, so much so that growing up 'normal' is an exception for the Disney kids. I bet you never thought of it. A lot of industries worldwide are pretty ruthless. Imagine yourself getting a contract with a Euro/American recording company, you get a '360 contract' which on the surface of it gives you money, but is designed to bankrupt you and make you dependent on them, lose rights. You go on a TV competition show like X-Factor or The Voice? You sign away rights to any and all social media for 10 years, so they can use you to make content, but you can't use them as a springboard for your talent, not in a way which makes you independent of their system.

I begin to know April when I started noticing Naeun from “extraordinary you”. I thought she is the visual until I found out the existence the former member like Hyunjoo. Naeun instantly became the visual after Hyunjoo left the group. Naeun was so pretty back then but not anymore when compared to Hyunjoo. I used to wonder why they aren’t not successful. It must have been because of their wickedness.
Personality is important to be an idol. As I love kpop for over 12years until now. I notice that the most idols with beautiful personalities are successful in Kpop industry.

From what I've read, what Jimin did to her was very cruel. Not just the normal bullying or being rude. And this was for 10 years. Not sure why the staff and her teammates didn't speak up.

I've never been familiar with this group but Hyungjoo seems like such a sweet girl. It made me furious to see those clips where other members get together to mock or snear at her. I've had this done to me and it is awful. Don't send hate to anyone, but it's important this horrible behaviour is recognised.
It’s all your choice but personally I’m removing all April songs from my playlists and no longer supporting dramas with them as the main lead. I always have a trust in the bonding of each YG groups and they all have one of the most beautiful and realistic family relationship in K-Pop so I hope that too continues in TREASURE. I feel like they've gotten a lot closer and each of them have a secret bond like they're all close but some members don't really displayed their affection to certain members on camera. I see no awkwardness or negative feelings to their aura and I think that is why they are all so playful towards each other.
I believe in treasure's each member they already like family... doyoung and yoshi being different only because their sense of jokes, nothing else.... they also said that they would always support each other, you could see they always give reaction and compliment each other

Dude like being an idol is hard and things like this just makes it even harder. It's just sad and very infuriating for me that those that had to work a lot just as everyone else then decide to abandon their dreams in order to stop the constant pain.

I feel like a lot of this group’s bullying comes from their entertainment’s not paying enough attention to how the group members get along before debut. And they don’t train together long enough to get so close like twice, bp, and other groups that trained 4+ years together.
April has talents and visuals but they wasted it. Especially Na Eun. Dang! I rlly liked how she acted. I hope every members will get educated and change into a better person. Also, Jinsol is so disrespectful. Is that how she was taught? So disrespectful.
