I watched the video on Lancelot and watched in despair and then saw this morning they have got another dog I know it's silly but my stress levels went sky high . Totally agree, buying from a puppy farm is disgusting and not a message that one should be sending out for they are encouraging breeders who keep dogs in cages and isolation for long periods of time without human company and care. If only people stopped buying these puppies the trade would stop. There are plenty of dogs in need of good homes nearer to home, although like you say, only for responsible owners. I would not be without my young collie, we have Agility and fly ball equipment in the paddock for daily fun activities. I am also training him to assist me in the house with close/open doors, fetch objects, pick things up off the floor that I may drop and to carry things. He loves to find discarded plastic bottles on walks, that he proudly walks back to the recycle bins with it. I just find it sad when people deny a dog of a happy life.

I totally agree. This poor pup is exactly as you say, making money. No one I know would ever buy a dog like the way they did. They left that dog with many people and were more than careless with the little soul. The amount of people praising them in their comments are having double standards. I lost my dog in February after having as my companion for 15 years and he was about 17. I adopted a new companion at the end of April from my local humane society. The are so many dogs that need homes. I just love that you share your honest thoughts.

You’re correct that we don’t know who the breeder is. We know that they may have broken Czech law when delivering the new puppy. No conscientious potential dog owner buys a puppy sight unseen. You visit the breeder’s facility, meet the mother and sire if on site, observe the environment (and the breeder) the pup was raised in. Likewise, any reputable breeder will thoroughly vet prospective buyers - most especially breeders of rare, expensive, fragile dogs like Prague Ratters. Is any of this resonating with you?

I agree. Tattle found something to get people wound up. Cathy is using this now for views. Dogs are delivered through airports and that doesn’t make them trafficked. They also transport them miles in vans from kill shelters to open arms. Is that trafficking? That dog was not abused. I have worked with abused dogs and he definitely loved the people at the chateau. I do not understand this mourning period thing some people go on about. Replacing and loving another animal doesn’t make a person bad. Tattle just found a new weapon .. that is what they do. People purchase dogs pure bred dogs from breeder not mills or "puppy farms". Galahad came from Prague Ratter breeder in Prague! Instead of driving due to guest arriving for her birthday, they flew! We live in the 21st century, people fly. Dogs are transported by plane! Many kennels don't let people traipse through their premises due to bio security. Lancelot was not abused by any stretch of the imagination. Have you ever been to an Amish puppy mill or dog auction in the USA? That is abuse not Lancelot! Spent last summer with my friends pulling pups and their parents out of Lancaster, PA getting them to rescue and loving homes!!! That is abuse not living at Lalande! Lancelot died due to his lungs blowing air into his body. That was no one's fault it was a condition. Like a horse with colic or a dog with bloat! To blame someone for those circumstances is outrageous and pathetic! I have had dogs since I was 5 more than 60+ years. I saw nothing wrong with their treatment of dear Lancelot. They loved him and he loved them. What a life he led! He was celebrated worldwide! I am truly sorry you can't be happy for them getting a new puppy! You do realize that exchanging puppies or kittens in a public place in the Czech Republic is against the law there? Precisely because they have a puppy mill problem in that country. You’re correct that we don’t know who the breeder is. We know that they may have broken Czech law when delivering the new puppy. No conscientious potential dog owner buys a puppy sight unseen. You visit the breeder’s facility, meet the mother and sire if on site, observe the environment (and the breeder) the pup was raised in. Likewise, any reputable breeder will thoroughly vet prospective buyers - most especially breeders of rare, expensive, fragile dogs like Prague Ratters. Is any of this resonating with you?
