By the end of this story, we will all be converted.
@Emma Spaeth IDK if this helps but this reminds me of the time I had a dream about Peter Capaldi's twelfth doctor before I watched doctor who, before he was even announced to be playing the character.
@Emma Spaeth don’t worry, brain plays tricks on us. We just notice that one single dream that made sense but not the tens of thousands of others that don’t. Also look up why we have de ja vu (I meant the biological reason nothing spiritual), it’s interesting and it makes u realise how many creepy or apparently unexplained thing r actually scientifically explainable
@Emma Spaeth If it helps, I have thsoe same prophetic dreams all the time. For me though, they manifest in the form of very specific buildings not even close to being used how they were in my dream, or in a particular domestic scene lining up exactly to a scene in a dream. Nothing actually important about them, just random clutter and people in a particular orientation around the place. The location ones make even less sense, as my dreams often go surreal. Once there was a building that was abandoned in a location my family regularly visits on vacation, in a highly developed urban area with decent living standards. In my dream, it was a regular mall that suddenly found itself being filled with water, from the second floor. And I was an octopus just swimming around as people climbed stairs and escalators to avoid getting wet. None I recognized, which is also a seeming recurrant theme in my dreams. Random people are always random, no doubt clipped from life simply to serve as filler. But it is rare that someone I am close to is in one of my dreams. Always the distant ones.
I like how at the end, he admits his fears that the reported got the video to work, its a nice hint( when this is the first actual episode of season 2) that he has left behind the over rationalization after the heart to heart under siege of worms
Anytime music seems to be mentioned in a statement it's always accompanied by some type of violence so I've started making the association a lot. I was literally anticipation what sort of violence would erupt during this statement But there was the "Faster Faster" song played on the red Calliope Organ, and before that was The Piper's song. I feel that The Piper might have a stronger connection given it outright provoked violence in those that could hear it's tune, and this instance was more self mutilation. The red Calliope was a bit too obscure to tell if the music had a direct violent impact on the individual or if it was like... a curse ig? Overall I just believe music thus far has influenced violence. I really like that the music isn't inherent evil sounding either, it's just people jammin and someone decides to kill a man. Sick
@@teavey9913 Now that you mention it, yeah! I totally glossed over that event because I was more focused on the guy possibly being a werewolf and felt that the music/whistling came secondary to the fact he was some sort of entity but now that I think about it, I'd definitely classify it as a music+violence scenario.
I just love the detail that, at least here, Jon doesn’t outright dismiss or try to rationalize the statement, like he had before. He knows he can’t dismiss these anymore, even if he had truly believed them. He’s experienced too much to just rationalize the evidence away.
If this were a Call of Cthulhu campaign, then the Infestation caused Jon's sanity to drop below the insanity threshold and his Keeper assigned him Paranoia as a Mania.

I just had a thought, what if the audience are the ones who died because of the previous concerts? So they just acquiring regular listeners this way... P.S. Imagine, if, after some time, the first ones start to get used to it and are like: - Oh my, Linda, what a perfect scream of agony that just was! - Thank you, Steven, but I couldn't do it without you ripping my arm so professionally!

The musician is described to wear a "flaps of loose skin" suit. The old man from Lucas family about Evan was also described wearing a suit like that. Either an author's favorite phrase or... something else...
Hmm... So, if guy in a robe was already dead before the concert, does that mean that everyone there, except statement-giver were dead as well? They are certainly have quite an interesting music in afterlife...

@Emma Spaeth
If it helps, I have thsoe same prophetic dreams all the time.
I like how at the end, he admits his fears that the reported got the video to work, its a nice hint( when this is the first actual episode of season 2) that he has left behind the over rationalization after the heart to heart under siege of worms
yeah, seeing him take into account that the video was likely at fault was nice to hear
jon no
jon martin is just being a good boy ok?
The description of Alfred Grifter reminds me of the description of the man in Taken Ill
Yeah, both him and John Amherst wear ill-fitting suits. These people need the number of a good tailor. lol 😁
Anytime music seems to be mentioned in a statement it's always accompanied by some type of violence so I've started making the association a lot. I was literally anticipation what sort of violence would erupt during this statement
But there was the "Faster Faster" song played on the red Calliope Organ, and before that was The Piper's song.
Sick
Also the guy that was whistling in First Hunt. Music and violence in that
@@teavey9913 Now that you mention it, yeah! I totally glossed over that event because I was more focused on the guy possibly being a werewolf and felt that the music/whistling came secondary to the fact he was some sort of entity but now that I think about it, I'd definitely classify it as a music+violence scenario.
@@teavey9913 isn't it also mentioned that he is thin and short and wearing an Ill fitting suit? Or was it someone else?
@@Not_Lilly42 I think that was John Harmerst (however you write his name), the man from ''taken ill''.
When the statement mentioned the flute I thought of the Piper in episode 7
There is a whisper at 20:22 that I cannot make out at all, creepy.
Arkangel630 you’re right omg
It sounded like it said Yes, like it was telling Jon his paranoia is correct and he should be worried, even if Martin really is just helping
To be honest, it sounds as though it is saying "shutter" to me. Though it could also be saying "Sasha" which is really interesting.
@@zhemug I think it sounds alot more like sasha to me, though it also kinda sounds like slaughter
I kinda think it sounds like ‘I’m still there’ or maybe ‘Amsterdam’. Neither makes much sense, but I’ve got pretty bad hearing, so...
Jon being possessed by the stories and reading like the person is such a brilliant touch.
Martin: * Gives Jon affection. * :D
Jon: What's this? Is this a plot to kill me? I'm going to keep a close eye on him.
This gives "Panic at the disco" a whole new meaning
It's only now on my 4th re listen that I'm realizing it was Oliver who warned her about "protecting her hearing" omg its something new every time!
Am I the only one kind of disappointed that Grifter's Bone ended up a one shot story? Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing episode and I'm glad we've got it, but somehow, I always thought Grifter's Bone might pop back up somehow or someway.
Some people think the story about the violin in Magnus Protocol series is a prequel.
martin: *is nice and caring
jon: " he's trying to kill me, I know it"
crystal shop? like the one in which Prentiss worked?
More like the one "antonio blake" worked in.
you think i remember details
It's the same guy, and I also think that he is the man Jane prentiss met in the store she works in.
panic! at the jazz club
ooh was that another oliver cameo? he's popping up everywhere!!
He’s a busy boy! Seeing death omens and all that. lol 😊
Martin: cares about Jon's well being and makes sure he takes care of himself
Jon: he must be trying to kill me
That sure sounded like a panic at the disco
I just had a thought, what if the audience are the ones who died because of the previous concerts? So they just acquiring regular listeners this way...
P.S. Imagine, if, after some time, the first ones start to get used to it and are like:
- Oh my, Linda, what a perfect scream of agony that just was!
- Thank you, Steven, but I couldn't do it without you ripping my arm so professionally!
IM SOBBINGA
John: martins being nice to me, giving me tea, food, asking if I’ve slept well. It’s almost like he-
Has been plotting to kill mr since day one. Obviously. I mean who would care *this much* if they weren’t plotting my death behind my back.
Okay jon can be paranoid of martin all he wants but i draw the line about making fun of his poetry
Jon: Martin must be trying to kill me
Me: he's not evil mate, he's gay.
New listener here, this is at least the third time that the crystal and tarot card shop was mentioned
I see.
i love this one. it's such a classic concept, the band who made a deal w the devil and is now cursed forever etc etc, i'm a sucker for those things. rip to jennifer though, i was really rooting for her
WOW JON ITS LIKE MARTIN CARES ABOUT YOU
I really love this one, it has the most stand alone horror short story feel
"Keep my eye on Martin" EYE. Singular?! Jon? Are you okay?!
Well, he has four suspects and only two eyes. He's already giving more than he should mathematically.
👁😌
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
The musician is described to wear a "flaps of loose skin" suit. The old man from Lucas family about Evan was also described wearing a suit like that. Either an author's favorite phrase or... something else...
can we talk about how this whole episode is a panic! at the disco joke?
Guys, he's paranoid and this is a trauma reaction. Also he wasn't shown proper love as a child.
this one is too realistic, anytime i overhear lemon demon i'm also thrown into a rage
nah martin's not the imposter I watched him do medbay.
im fucking jump. how dare you be so funny under that spooky statement. im in tears i cant
Hmm... So, if guy in a robe was already dead before the concert, does that mean that everyone there, except statement-giver were dead as well?
They are certainly have quite an interesting music in afterlife...
1:05 Statement (Slaughter, End) [John]
18:05 Post-Statement
19:53 Supplemental
Did Martin read the credits previously? I haven't noticed, since I skip most of them, but... Interesting.
no he didn't
it was mostly Jon but sasha read once I think
Yea Martin read them for the last ep
“A knife or a noose is with what you’ll be met, if you try to play nice and stick out your neck.” - nightmares never end
Jon have you been deprived of a mother's love
I mean... yeah, he actually kind of was, interestingly enough.
(this comment is a month old so I’m assuming you’ve heard the statement concerning his childhood at this point. 😅)
Most of Jon's issues come down to an emotionally neglected childhood, untreated childhood trauma/PTSD, and possibly undiagnosed ASD.😢 He really lived quite a tragic life.
This is my first comment after listening too all the episodes consequently till now, thankyou to everyone behind the rusty quill you have all made a wonderful offering to me.
Martin: *I love you, Jon!*
Jon:Mmmhhhmmm, not sure about that buddy. Stay six feet away from me.
Haven’t looked at everything, no spoilers please, but there is absolutely no way that Martin is deceiving anyone. He clearly likes John an awful lot. Maybe he is just trans? And somehow he feels that not telling them that is “”lying”””? Idk. Or maybe a love confession is eminent? 🤔
After finishing up to 160, I would like to rephrase my earlier statement. Yes Martin 100% capable of lying to people .
And yes, He is very much into tall, scrawny, and sarcastic over there.
@@samtigerlilly1003 tall scrawny and sarcastic is an a+ description
why'd you think trans? that's interesting. most people think he's just (cis)gay
“Maybe he is just trans”?? Ohh you mean about the “lying”. Right.
@@pugjuice8462 Yep. At the time I was grasping at straws. It seemed like something harmless and heartbreaking to lie about.
-Spoilers-
I guessed wrong, but the answer was still in the harmless and heartbreaking ballpark. * Shrugs*
Martin: I have tea and blankets hope you haven't found out about my crush on you... Calyptus trees I love eucalyptus trees haha
Jon: I'm in danger
"I will keep my eye on Martin."
This seems like heavy forewhadowing, what with all the eyes so far
Okay I think it was in the episode "catching ill" where they talked about a man wearing a brown suit cut for a much bigger man. Same dude mentioned @ 7:38?
Flute music from the war episode?
Edit: first time listener. Please don't spoil
"I will keep my eye on Martin"
*martin starts reading credits*
OH HELLO MARTIN
Katniss Everdeen🤝Jonathan Sims: Oh god he is being nice to me, is that a plot? For murder? Is he deceiving me with kindness so I lower my guard and then kill ME? Well. Good thing I caught up to his intentions then😌
The description of the Grifter's music sounded a lot like experimental jazz to me 😂
