"Well... The fuckin' hippies aren't, that's for goddamn sure." Perfect delivery of that line.
Jay: Is everybody okay?
Rick: Well... the fuckin’ hippies aren’t. That’s for goddamn sure
I can’t be the only one who laughed my ass off with that line
I howled at that line too. And for some dumb reason I also laughed at "Ya I'm fuckin serious" . His accent makes me laugh
I Lost my Sh!t
You are not alone on that! It's the exchange I remember the most and never fail to laugh.
The delivery was just perfect. I just watched the movie and came to this video only to find if anyone else found this as hilarious as I did.
Thanks mate😅
I sure did lol
RIP Jay Sebring, Sharon Tate, Abigail Folger, Wojciech Frykowski, Steven Parent, and Leno/Rosemary LaBianca. This the true ending we needed to honor those that brutally died those 2 nights. I love Tarantino.
Being in the theater opening weekend and hearing a packed crowd go from riotous laughter to a sad, reflective silence is something I won't soon forget
I don´t thing it´s a sad silence, in this timeline Rick have an oportunity to relaunch his career if knows how to build a friendship with Polanski, Sabring and Tate. Maybe he would be able to keep his house and help Cliff (who also is a "hero" now, in the movie's timeline)
@@federicocamposgarcia3602 I think he means the sad silence of the crowd seeing an alive, healthy and pregnant Sharon Tate come out to welcome Rick into the house and then remembering that this isn't what happened in real life. That this lady, her unborn baby and her friend Jay all were gruesomely murdered. It's these final few seconds of the movie that always hit me in the gut and I guess I'm not the only one.
@Federico - I too wonder what happened to Cliff. You’re right now he’s probably a big hero & hopefully he started getting more stunt work as a result of him saving the day.
Was sad. Actually a knot in the heart sadness. Few of us know the feeling, many are misunderstood.
We all know that the ending to the real story was nothing happy. It was a crime that shocked Ameriica and its impact lasted for decades. This is the closest thing we can get to travel back in time and change the course of events
Ironheart73 , I agree totally , throughout this whole scene I was thinking "what if everybody had lived". I think it could have been interesting if Jay Sebring agreed with him about strange people being around by mentioning Charles Manson coming over and seemed uneasy ; to talk with the former owners of the house. or have a reminder to history by having Sebring pose what if the situation had happened to his friends and him ; and considers himself lucky. I think this movie did a great job at giving viewers a glimpse into the golden era of hollywood and telling the story of one its promising actresses , Sharon Tate. Even if he is considered a fugitive , I feel horrible for Roman Polanski when he found out. What happened to them was one of the most tragic and inhuman events in history , especially considering Tate was 8 months pregnant , which is shown in the film , when killed. In the end , this movie did a great job at bringing some of entertainment's past performers back to life.
The Moment they invent Time travel. That’s one of my to do list.
That’s why it’s starts off with Once Upon a Time. The idea that it’s a fairy tale. There is a happy ending. But if you know the original story, the ending is FAR from happy. Like Grimms Fairy Tales original stories vs the Disney movies.
Just like when he went back in killed Hitler 👌
And sadly, the "Family" were not this dumb. They were a lot of things, but not dumb. They were meticulous and calculating. They cut the phone lines... Tarantino obviously portrayed them this way to lighten the story.
For all of us that mourned Sharon and Jay all these years, thank you Quentin Tarantino. You did us all proud.
Yeah but nobody gives Steven parent any love..
@@WillChandlerFLD120 I imagined an ending that honored Steven, the LaBiancas and Gary Hinman. One of those scenes you see after the credits roll (and you were smart enough to stay and watch for it, like an Easter egg. 😉). I had to. I followed the case since the 70s so I needed a cool ending for the rest of them. I’m an aspiring writer so it was fun to imagine it. 😉
I love how Rick is so happy that Jay appreciates his work and kids Sharon about it. This was such a feel-good movie.
Well the hippies sure don’t think so.
@@austinplace3284 that's for goddamn sure
I love how Rick Dalton is so happy to be recognized ..... never once mentioned Cliff or what happened to him or how he was doing. That's Hollywood and the attendant self absorbed assholes
Oh definitely. He’s so appreciative and happy when Jay mentions the 14 fists of McClusky & the line about putting a bounty on Roman with Jake Cahill.
“The fucking hippies aren’t, that’s for gotdamn sure” the delivery is perfect 🤣
That end feels like Rick Dalton has forged a paradise path for Sharon Tate and Jay Sebring to live happiest lives
I think Cliff did all the hard work budd
Yep, I actually thought that Rick will end up getting the lead role in China Town and revive his career
@@Ironheart73 E Cliff voltaria a trabalhar pra ele como dublê, os dois saíram ganhando
@@Ironheart73 Jack Nicholson would bludgeon his hands to oblivion before he signs for that role.
One thingbeveryone who knew Sharon said of her was how sweet and caring she was. The fact she asks if everyones ok then immediately confirms Rick's ok show how much detail tarantino put into this film
I cant stop laughing at "is everyone okay?" "Well...the fucking hippies aren't."
When I saw this in theaters I was dreading the ending, as I thought I knew how it must end.. As it turned out I left the theater with the biggest smile on my face that lasted the whole ride home.
This makes me cry, it’s so bittersweet to see Sharon have a happy ending
I tried so hard to hold back tears when I was watching this with one of my kids. The ending and reality we all wanted. I love how they channeled Sharon’s kindness . She truly was an earth angel!! 🥺
2:38 I like how the music starts & the gates open up slowly, signaling an auspicious moment for Rick. The gates opening is symbolic of him entering into this “new Hollywood” era. Really neat scene. Well executed too acting wise.
when sharon says hello neighbour makes me tear up a bit. if only , RIP sharon tate
Best scene of the entire movie. Leo is an amazing actor
"From the 14 fists of McCluskey?"
Jay Sebring acting like Quentin Tarantino would have - I love it
well everybody else was laughing, I was sitting there with tears in my eyes thinking how wonderful it was to imagine if things had turned out differently and they all had survived.
Um final espetacular... Fica aquela sensação de que, realmente, nada aconteceu e todos ficaram bem... Mesmo depois de 54, 55 anos, muito triste a realidade 🥺🥺🥺🥺
"The fucking hippies aren't that's for goddamn sure" 😂😂😂😂
Kinda eerie ending, almost Twilight-zone like.. as they walk through gates of heaven
“It STILL works too!… Thank god.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Seeing how happy my dad was when he says that line will be memory I’ll keep forever
This is an happy ending , but at the end of the movie, I just cried and was much more sad because of the reality 💔
When Margot said « that’s terrifying » she just sounds like Sharon it’s shocking 😮
Guys, I'm concerned for Emile Hirsch...it ain't natural to be 34 years old and still be a 15 year old 🧐🤔🤷♂️
DrDoom725 it’s just because he lost about 25 pounds for the role
Pretty much how Jay was irl.
Jay Sebring’s voice was deeper than this guy’s.
'Is everybody ok ?'
'Well, the fucking hippies aren't, that's for god damn sure'.
I loved how this movie ended. I left the movie theater feeling good I saw this film.
Cinema at its goddamm finest 👌
This movie is a masterpiece and so funny.I love the way of their lines.Tarantino is a great director.
His movies just have great actors
This scene made me realize that Tarantino might actually be a big softie at heart
"Is everybody okay?"
"Well... the fucking hippies aren't, that's for damn sure."
This ending it's my ideal Dream-
This scene always makes me just a bit sad thinking what could have been if reality didn't suck so much compared to this ending and that music was a master stroke.
This is so bitter sweet
Saw this in theaters with my mom and auntie the ending is hilarious and awesome
I really wish this was the way that horrible night had ended. With Sharon, Jay and the others still alive and Sharon has her baby. And I guess Steven Parent and the LaBiancas would still be alive too.
Paul Richard Polanski would be 52 years old now. I'm thinking that he would have gone into show business and would have been probably partying with River Phoenix and Sean Astin
I knew nothing about Sharon Tate and the Manson Murders before I saw this movie, so I didn't understand the significance of the ending until later. So sad! 💔😭
Oh wow. Really? I read Helter Skelter in middle school and have been obsessed with the case ever since. My heart has hurt for those victims for so many years. This ending was GLORIOUS. It’s good that I watched it at home, because I was cheering and screaming at the TV. My hubby, who only has a vague knowledge of the case, was cheering right along with me, mainly because the scene was just so wicked cool.
Same here! I started researching it a lot more and heard this movie as a result
This was a well acted movie. And interesting that most of the cast either weren't alive yet or were small children in 1969 when this was set in.
jay sebring is played by emile hisrch who is Alex/Chris in Into the wild
But to me he will always be Matthew Kidman from "the Girl next door"
Y’all needa watch Killer Joe , he’s in the lead role wit Matthew mcconaughey & the movie is really intense , let alot the Plot itself. u guys will be so drawn to it it’s so entertaining & last to mention, the movie is also very original & unpredictable it’s a Must watch
“Well… the fuckin hippies aren’t, that’s for gotdamn sure”
I got a flame thrower in my tool shed!
Yeah , I'm fuckin serious my fav line 😂
I love Tarantino
Rod Serling would be proud.
If we don’t get a Rick Dalton cameo in the Movie Critic, I’ll be sad
It’s so cool, they needed Dane Dehaan in this scene to complete the triangle.
Achievement Unlocked: The Good Ending
How I wish life imitated art.
"Well, the fuckin hippies arnt"
0:12 yeah..im rick dalton
0:51 oh shit i torched the last one!
“Well the fuckin hippies aren’t that’s for god damn sure”
This is genre film meeting auteur film in a Hollywood that could have been.
Some speculation, some facts. The bottom line is cruelty begets cruelty. Suspicion begets it's kind and only love reveals the window or door, the hinges that sways both ways.
If only....
Its so nice to see speed racer doing so well after winning the grand prix😂
Thus scene was sad knowing what really happened. :( RIP Sharon Tate ❤️
“My buddy and his dog killed 2 of them “….didn’t they kill 3? (Tex and the 2 girls)
0:52
The gate opening up is symbolic. At the invitation of that angelic Sharon Tate, Rick gets to climb the stairway (driveway) to heaven. Look for Rick Dalton and Sharon Tate to star in Roman Polanski's film, Rosemary 2: The Devil Went Down To Georgia And Got Fistfucked By His Own Pitchfork. In theaters October, 1971
So Rick in this alternate universe gets the lead role in China Town which Polanski would direct
"I burnt her ass to a crisp" is my fave line ever.
And also 'not the f#### hippies, that's for God-damn sure'.
This is the way it should of ended in real life
what happened in real life
@@drofhanglersnfent look up the Sharon Tate murders
What happened in real life? Tragically, it was the most notorious (and distressing) massacre in Hollywood history. But I guess everyone has to hear about the case for the first time, at some point. But you need a strong stomach, for it's a hard thing to read.
This film is just a fantasy, re: what most of us wish had really happened. The characters played by Brad Pitt and Leonardo Dicaprio (who killed the hippies) didn't exist, sadly. But Sharon Tate, Jay Sebrig, and two friends (who are all seen in this scene) did exist. Sharon was a famous actress, and Jay was a celebrity hairdresser.
Sharon was just two weeks away from giving birth. But in real life, all four were slaughtered horrendously (along with a teenage boy, who had just been visiting the caretaker). Members of the Manson family (the hippie cult, who are killed by Brad Pitt and Leo) in this film, killed them.
The Manson family broke into the house late at night; taunted the victims; told them they were all going to die; etc. They shot, stabbed (160+ times), and carved them up. They put ropes around Sharon Tate's neck, and lifted her off the ground with it, etc.
One of the cult members there that night (who didn't take part, and was disgusted by it all), gave evidence in trial. She said Sharon Tate even tried to negotiate. She begged for two more weeks, to have her baby - then they could kill her. She even asked one of the killers to cut out her baby, and take him with them (one of the killers instead laughed and said 'bitch, I have no mercy for you').
Sharon's two friends made it outside, bleeding profusely. The witness said she was traumatised by the look in one victim's eyes - and the other victim was screaming for her mother. Even somebody nearly a mile away heard screams, but didn't know where they were coming from.
The murderers finished off the two victims (who had tried to escape). They committed similarly brutal murders of other people also - including the very next night. They had a barmy idea that black people would be falsely accused, and it would cause a race war they wanted.
@@crazyhai8155 so the 4 people (not including Dicaprio becus he doesnt exist as u said) at the end who invited Dicaprio all died? so is Sharon supposed to be the duo? (brad and dicaprio) but except they dont kill the hippies? who is the caretaker and sharon is a girl right
This part almost made me cry the first time I saw it.. if only this is how it actually went down. Tarantino healed my broken heart tho making this ending ❤️ and the actor who plays jay is perfect with the role love him
Agreed.
I cried too. If only...
If only. We love you Sharon Tate.
When Jay gave him a thumbs up it’s like he was giving it to the audience in the afterlife.
Emile Hirsch is so underrated he deserve some good high profile roles
Emile as Jay was a truly amazing casting choice (as was every other casting choice in Once Upon A Time).
Emile he's kinda of annoying . He plays all these little shit ass roles in movies. Some of the roles he shouldn't have had. Like in Lone survivor. No way that little fucker would ever be a navy seal. His body is yuck. It's like he can't gain muscle . It's the same flabby body. Little bitch body.
@@fightsmokesurf ur so mad 💀💀💀
He's speed racer
@@Karlebow571 Christopher McCandless in Into the Wild
I've come to accept that Rick Dalton only knows the word "hippy" not as a single word, but two: "fucking hippies!" 😂
Emilie Hirsch and Leonardo DiCaprio has always been a dream of mine 💯🙏🏻
Right no one is mentioning this ! They remind me of one another so much
My favourite part is where it just hits Rick (famous Hollywood actor) that he killed someone tonight and he basically just shrugs it off 0:52
I like how it seems Dicaprio as good of an actor as he is couldnt keep a straight face saying some of his lines i nearly woke up the neighbors laughing at this when i first watched it
"I burned her ass to a crisp."
GOD SHARON WAS SUCH A SWEET PERSON
She really was. From everything I’ve ever heard about her, she was a sweetheart. Everyone loved her.
Ya didn’t know her, it’s a fucking movie not a proven actual depiction
@@omarsilva6603 He didn't said he knew her, other people did and they loved her.
I feel like this should have been Quentin's #10 and final movie just for that last scene. That was a cool ass ending to a story that should have been.
was a great movie
I bet you this scene leaves the families of the victims in tears.
“These fuckin hippie weirdos, they-they-they, they broke into my house”
So... Arnie Grape saved Speed Racer and Harley Quinn's life 😅😅
This is sad because we all know the true story 😭Wishful thinking! 😭
"the fuckin' hippies aren't,...that, that's for Got damn sure..."
1:17 😂😂😂😂
Leo used his howard Hughes accident in this movie.
2 Leonardo DiCaprio!

Speed Racer
Is the bottom line in this film that murder can open new doors for your career? I'll always be confused about what qt was trying to say here
I love how Sharon takes the time to ask Rick personally how he was doing and if he's ok. ❤🥹
It's so sad to see the actor dressed as Jay Se bring was in real life
I had no freaking idea that was Emile Hirsch!
Fine actor!
Yea I just figured out and I was in utter shock
