There's a book called "That Others May Live". These guys are literally Superman. It's like SEAL training plus learning to be an EMT.
Absolutely 👍
One day in Air Force Basic Training some big beefy guys walked into our barracks (or dorm or whatever it's called) and went right up to a big Arnold Schwarzenegger type guy and said, "have you ever thought about going into para rescue?"
"What's para rescue?" "Come with us, we'll show you." And they took him right then and there.
True that, when we were in basic training, they took these guys out periodically for a day throughout the weeks there, you knew who they were.
Amen! TY USA !!!!! for your service!!!!!!
One thing I've always wondered. Why Berets? I don't just mean here, I mean in general with militaries. I just feel there's cooler looking hats that could serve the same purpose. What am I missing here?
"These Things We Do, That Others May Live.”
Some of the baddest most professional men I ever met while I was in the Air Force. PJ’s are a different bread.
When I was a PJ instructor there was a M. Blankenship, are you related to him?
@@robertberatheon4213 negative. That isn’t the first time I’ve been asked though.
Great video! Thanks for this.
Max great video thank you!!
Ryan, I don't know if I'd call the C-47s that frequently flew the Hump unreliable; the DC-3/C-47 is one of the most reliable aircraft ever, with hundreds still flying today. Their main problem in the CBIT would be service ceiling, as the Himalayan Mountains are among the tallest in the world.
Indeed, these are heroes!
Indeed, the most badass!!
Excellence on Display…Para Rescuer
Ah so that's what Para Rescue is about. In the movie "Winter Soldier" there is a character that is from Para Rescue, but I never looked it up. Praiseworthy to the max. The connection to smokejumpers is pretty cool too. Pride of America.
The Falcon was a PJ and now he is Captain America - hoo-yah for PJ's!
You told me a while ago that you'd make a PJ video and you came through! Thanks! PJ from 86-96.
I had a highschool teacher that was a PJ from 1989-1996 . Pjs are bad ass!
What was his name?

i think they are no longer in service the way you described them. most of them now embedded as part of QRF. since doing para jumping is no longer viable in modern days. you wind up with more casualties.
they are commonly now standing by in air bases with QRF. and only deploy by helos. no parachutes.
Depends on what team you’re on. A good bunch of guys jumped into Afghanistan in the begin of the war.
👍
Hooyah
They’re basically the nurse maids of the military. Little ladies do a good job. Thanks little pj’s.
I thought when the military called 911 a F16 showed up…
I thought a B52 showed up.
An F-16 or B-52 ain't gonna save you if you have crash injuries, bullet wounds, or a broken leg and you're bleeding out. That's a PJ's job.
You just made it clrar for me whatvi beed to become . Thabkyou sir
1st to a max vid C:
And? Sew Watt..
@@JSFGuy feels nice to do nothing thats wat
@@drangehta Great, did you watch the video?
@@JSFGuy im waiting till i get home i even got it in a tab ready brother
Shame on the SEALs for leaving a Pararescue to die alone in on the mountain hills of Afghanistan
Shame on you for being a pillock and bad mouthing men who were brave enough to go while you were courageous enough to sit behind your keyboard....well done keyboard warrior!
Chapman was a combat controller, not a PJ. And in the fog of war, I believe it was reasonable to believe he was dead.
@@DN-zi8yx leave no man behind, dead or alive, thats the motto for special operations ....navy/army or airforce
First There.
