Cecilia- girl I'm a long-time viewer since almost the beginning and I love your channel...but eagle-eyed super fan viewers like me are gonna recognize a lot of old footage here recycled from other videos. We want polar night updates! Take us in the village or to run errands! New stuff! We know it's dark there now. rustle up some new grub please. We wait eagerly all week for your videos!
@@thelaundress11This video is a recap style vid to show what an entire year looks like on Svalbard 😊 Next week is polar night update 😊 Thank you for watching!
@@thelaundress11She’s showing us the different months that have passed. It’s pretty obvious and shouldn’t need any explanation, nor any eagle eyes. Especially when she’s talking about February, march, April etc 🤣
Wowsers! Whatever deal Nord VPN gives you; they will have to increase it exponentially after Grimm's command performance. (Perhaps a children's book is Grimm's next project?!) Your sponsor segment hits all the feels…I now find myself googling their site!
Cecilia, Have you considered using still shots from each season to create a calendar of Svalbard scenes for each year? You already have so much incredible footage. That would be an amazing item for your store that viewers will enjoy and use.
I second this! LOL, I'm already grabbing screen shots for wallpaper for my laptop! (Mostly of Grim, heh. You could totally do a Grim calendar as well!)
I like the documentary style of your vlogs Cecilia. The cinematography is so soothing and beautiful with ASMR-ISH tones mixed with nature and emotional music. You create magical content for your viewers. ❤
When I hear you rhapsodize about the blue twilight, I am reminded of this Bosnian folk song interpreted by local favorite Pink Martini. With your delightful musical sense, I think you may enjoy this.
Did this woman literally just do a segment on every single month of the year?! Cecilia you just don’t stop! Obsessed with your amazing life on Svalbard!
Last week I went into labor with my first child & was told to distract myself with music or a show to keep calm until my contractions were close enough to go to the hospital. I went straight to your channel & it definitely helped! Now a week later I am watching your latest upload with my 7 day old daughter, Sophie! Thank you for the beautiful content and calming videos. You gained your youngest fan this week! 👶🏽
I literally did the same with my 3 week old baby boy lol. The pain was so bad I couldn’t watch anything after a while, but Cecilia’s videos were a great comfort before that while in the hospital! Congrats on your baby!
@TheMinimalistTherapist I am tired of the bots too. I always advocate for Christianity and Islam and the benefit of religion in society but many people hate us because there's always these online bots as well as ignorant blind people and people who try to reinterpret faith to misuse it. It makes my blood boil.
OMG, I don't know what to comment about!! The scenery? The editing? The adventures? Or even the fantastic music selection?! I have a feeling that making this video has taken several months at least! I really enjoyed this documentary-ish video. Especially the cute Grim in the cutest pinkish sky background 04:41 Love you Cecilia ❤❤
Hi Cecilia, I think you have truly outdone yourself with this video! It is so well put together and the storytelling is wonderful. Love to the three of you from Austria. ❤
This one’s a masterpiece, Cecilia! So, so beautifully shot, and cut, and narrated AND scored. It actually made me a little weepy. Thank you for your work. Mean it sincerely. Thank you.
16:52 My family and I took a cruise to Alaska in September of 2022. A lot had changed in my life and I was dealing with a lot of stresses, yet being out on the water sailing through the fjords... I'd never felt more at peace. At one point in the trip I just sat alone on one of the decks overlooking the scenery and just had a good long cry. It felt nice to just sit and let the weight fall off my shoulders and into the water. I imagine that visiting Svalbard would make me feel very much the same way. The northern lights of polar winter, the tinges of pink from the first rays of sun, the bright golds and oranges and reds of autumn... Thank you for sharing a piece of your heaven with us.
Growing up as a child we are reminded to respect Mother Nature and be thankful for what SHE has given us. You, Christoffer and Grim are the envy of everyone, living where you do and reaping the rewards. This view throughout the yearly months was absolutely breathtaking. Thank you so much.
Can you go around and interview the locals and local businesses so we can see who they are, how they ended up there, how they feel owning a business there etc. I would be especially interested in teachers, bakeries, tour guides, etc. Who is the oldest person there, I assume there are no care homes? Do many people have extended family there? Are their midwives? How do people date? Are some people seasonal? Does anyone have neat polar bear encounter stories? What are the most common activities, sports etc
Your writing is so good, excellent, Cecelia! Hand-in-hand gorgeous photography and narration, love this recap of changes month to month and your keen awareness and observations. Love the coziness and cozy family and life with Christoffer and Grim.♥
I love how perfectly matched cecilia and christoffer is despite the differences like cecilia is a very bright and energetic woman but loves the dark polar nights while christoffer is usually calm and very chill but is thriving during the polar day. Both are contradicting but it's what probably makes them complete with each other haha
Breathtaking and amazing ! Cecilia you are a blessing to the world with your beautiful photography and narration skills ! Your music content is always so soothing and perfect for your videos ! Thank you for sharing your life and love of Svalbard with us, and thank you for sharing Grim and Christoffer with us too ! You have the perfect life !
Such a beautiful video! I can see how living in Svalbard so close to nature can really make one's "problems" seem much less significant. Thanks for sharing your part of the world. ❤
I enjoyed this so much! This was mesmerizing to watch and I so appreciate your genuine love of nature and how it changes there for each season. You have wonderful photography skills which transport your audience to another place. Thank you Cecilia!

Svalbard is an amazing place and so wonderful for you to share it with us! Love the pink time when the sunlight makes the mountains glow. Thank you for sharing with us! Love your videos!
I live in the Caribbean and we have traveled a good bit over the years (we are very blessed to have had this opportunity)...seen many seasons and snow storms(last one was just December past)...and for me sunshine is life.....I can't live without it...but I guess that's what I grew up with and that's what I love....just like how u love polar night....I love our Caribbean weather and a sunset in my front patio brings me peace as I would imagine golden hour on your deck brings you happiness . My husband and I love your videos and have followed you since day 1. We especially love the Grimm features on your videos 😅...sending love and best wishes from Trinidad and Tobago!!!!!
I wanted to come back to this video and share my takeaway from watching your year for the past year. This was my favorite video of all. One day of sub changes for us is an entire year of sun change for you. That was amazing. But in a personal level, polar night has come to have deep meaning for me. I'm a music director and housekeeper to make a living. In October I suffered a back injury that has gone on for four months now. 2 herniated discs and degenerative disc stuff. My life style for the past 5 years has been near constant work since I left an abusive marriage of 27 years and have needed to survive all on my own. You have helped me find that elusive "self care" that has been devoid in my world for so long through coming to learn about polar night. Your videos have bled into my well being in a much unexpected way. Much of my physical work slowed by December and I've been uncharacteristically off. We've had several boughts of inclement weather. It's been involuntary down time. In order to deal with this, I began to draw on your experience of polar night, to accept that you will be more tired, to acceor some inability to do some things. I began to create this cozy lit, candled space in my bedroom where I was up in pain so many nights at 3am. I made warm and cozy out of darkness of many varieties by watching your videos, and I love that I have these new thoughts and understandings in me now that can helo nourish me through this time if healing and rest.
Thank you for the beautiful video. Take us to the grocery store again please. Are there any ethnic specific things you do for the coming Valentine’s Day or St Patrick’s day? Want to see more of your daily life too. Books? Do you crochet or knit?
@cecelia blomdhal I'm visiting in November staying at guesthouse 102 for 1 week. My partner and I like to do things by ourselves not too keen on joining tourist groups etc. What's some fun things we can do in the village? It's our first time. Thank you for the inspiration ❤️🎇
Oh Cecilia, there’s so many breath taking views in your video it’s hard to catch your breath. Thank you. I’m sitting here in bed watching at 6:30 am. It’s not light here for another hour. And only 33 degrees. This video is one that has to be watched many times it’s so good. Seriously Thank you. Just incredible
Your Grim Nord VPN commercials are much better than "commercial" commercials. Granted, that may be because we are familiar with the entire scene...but, still.... 😁 Oooh, I remember the clips from the past. So much fun. What a wonderful look at the year, all in one video. It really showcased how Nature offers different kinds of beauty in every season!
Have watched this twice………beautifully prepared for us viewers. I shared with friends and expect they will be subscribing soon. The narration--the appreciation of nature and the changing light---is superb! Thank-you Cecilia! Hello to all of you from Florida. Special hello to Grimm. Considered him my celebrity dog-crush.
Grimm was set up!! He would never scam anyone because he doesn't need to scam to get treats. He's so beautiful and well behaved that treats rain down on him from above. Grimm is innocent!!!
This was balm to my soul! Your videography and photography is amazing of this beautiful place. ☺️ I enjoy your vlogs, it's a lovely bit of my weekly routine. It was lovely to see svalbard over a whole year. What a brilliant idea ☺️
I am a winter girl, too. Hot days are terrible for me. I should live in the northermost place on earth!. But as an Italian I have to endure long hot summers and now winters with little snow! Fantastic video, as usual. The Svalbards are a paradise and Grim is so cute.
Same here, winter girl. But it's harder for me than u, coz I live in saudi arabia. Its 30 degree celsius in jan 2024😔😔😔 I thrive in winter vacations in europe and uk
I am also Italian and winter girl. For this reason I moved from tuscany to trentino. 😁 It is not magical as Svalbard... But it is stunning beautiful anyway. 😍
Wow Cecilia you have outdone yourself this time this video is amazing! I loved how you did month by month season by season it really showed how beautiful Svalbard is all year round and of course we can’t forget Christoffer and Grim! Looking forward to your next one from Australia ❤
I can’t believe that having booked a holiday to Spitsbergen over 12 months ago we have finally arrived here in Longyearbyen yesterday. Having watched many of your videos Cecilia it felt so strange to walk into the clothes shop that I have seen you work in. The dog sleigh excursion today with Green Dog this morning was fascinating. Living in the UK 24 hrs of darkness is a once in a lifetime experience just had to do. Electric snow mobile tomorrow loving Norway and Longyearbyen. Still another four nights and days to experience. 😊❤
Cecília, happy New Year to you and Kristoffer and Grim! This video is my favorite of all the videos you have made, and that’s saying a lot, since I’ve enjoyed every single one. What I liked this time was your thorough and joyful tribute to the varying qualities of each month on Svalbard, in chronological order. Thank you so much for organizing and sharing this 12 month “calendar” of your life. 💐
I never expected to become so emotional watching this. Your narration and visuals were wonderful! You managed to convey the beauty of each month. Thank you for sharing your beautiful homeland! From a new subscriber in the United States.
Thank you, Cecilia. I really needed a Svalbard fix after an extremely grueling night and morning caring for an elderly family member who will be 100 in June. ❤ Bless You, Kristopher and Grim. 😍
Thank Cecilia. Words feel hollow and could never express fully my gratitude for your offering here. You live in paradise. Here in BC, Canada, I am not a big fan of summer. Too busy and bright for me. In my dream, I will come and spend a polar winter on Svalbard. Stunning beauty. Thank you again. ❤❤❤
Absolutely stunning! Breathtakingly beautiful!! The colors, the wildlife❤❤❤!!!!! Your narrative is so good Cecilia! I shared this with my sister right away. Your appreciation for your surroundings is a testimony to how you find joy in life simply, which is a blessing. Grimm is such a ❤️. Thanks for a wonderful video. Peace and love! I'm going to watch a couple more times.
I’ve definitely watched these vlogs and to see them all come together each month. Was amazing. I have to say your august time is beautiful compared to most months there . And the whales how amazing . That’s truly a blessing . I get that gratitude feeling ! I feel it watching this . Thank you . Happy new year !
Cecelia, I too love the winter. I am originally from Michigan and somehow I ended up in the desert! We’ve lived in Arizona for the last 24 years. You remind me of how much I love my home, Michigan will always be home. Thanks for taking us through the year once again. Your gratitude is contagious! ❤
Grim is so so so cute... I absolutely love how you incorporated him in the ads.... and seeing Christopher a lot more with you and grim makes my heart happy... the way you both treat grim makes me believe you would both be great parents....
I too love your polar nights. Being cozy for a minute is good for the soul. Lay low, drink tea, read books , write books, just stop for a minute. And then reset! You, Christopher, and Grimm are so comforting. Thank you for letting us see this life!
I am almost 70 and, if I have any regrets, I wish I would have known of Svalbard as a young women, for I would have moved there to stay. I, too, am a winter person and live in northern Michigan, loving the snow, the cold, the amazing wildlife, and wonderful fish. The first time I learned of Svalbard was after reading about the seed vault, but truly understanding the beauty and nature of the place I learned from you and Christopher, and I am grateful beyond words. Had I lived there, I think I would have missed forests, but I am always overcome by the beauty of your videos. Again, I am so grateful to both of you for sharing your islands, your lives, your talents, particularly Christopher's extraordinary culinary skills, and beautiful Grim with whom I have also fallen in love. God bless you both, for you have brought much happiness into my life, more than you will ever know.
I'm sure it was a lot of work going through old footage and picking out the best shots for this video. The colors you get to experience in the sky is amazing. Here's to another great year of peeping in on your life.
We’ve had quite a few cloudy days the past month & my depression is setting in. I appreciate your videos as I know I can’t live where the sun doesn’t shine. I truly think it’s gorgeous & would like to visit, during the midnight sun perhaps. As someone who requires sunlight for normal daily functioning, I’m quite intrigued by folks like you who love the polar nights. I love learning from you. Thanks for sharing Svalbard with us. God bless.
Beautiful cinematic docu of the amazing and wonderful seasons at Svalbard. It was also so fun to see the images and footage of what you have shared in the past year or two. It’s all so worth it to see again and especially in such a beautiful sequence. Well done Cecilia and big NY hugs to all 3 of you ❤ Alana
I watch your videos but rarely comment however I needed to this time as this video is just spectacular. I can only imagine the time it took to put this video together. It’s truly beautiful
Excellent vlog. Beautiful town and island. Visited end of july and look forward to coming back late March and April for the light and white snow scapes. You are truly blessed to be living in a paradise
Cecilia, i love that you are such a full on, hi energy person yet you can produce half an hour of soul soothing, calm video ❤ This was gorgeous and Svalbard tourism should be grateful to you!
I really enjoy this recap of last year and the seasons. Gorgeous views indeed. I think late april into May is my favorite. Followed by late August in your area. But i think October could be the best for pictures and night-time sky. Thanks for sharing!!
I know you hear this all the time but I wanted to let you know how magical your videos are to watch. I get all comfy on my couch and watch on my iPad and get lost in the beauty before my eyes. The music draws me in to your magical playground. A sense of calm comes over me. Your photography is so stunning! Keep doing what your doing it’s where you are meant to be. Thank you & sending love to you, Christoffer & Grim from my home in NW Ohio US near Lake Erie ❤
Hello Cecelia, I am so glad we get to see Svalbard through your eyes and your enthusiasm for life. You truly are a one of kind in the best way possible and so glad to have followed you along on your journey for the last 3 years ❤ May this year bring you much happiness along with everything you would like to achieve and more. Have a blessed week 🙏
Hello from Ukraine! in my hometown, it is always a warm red summer up to +30C, a yellow-orange autumn, a white winter (it used to be more cold and snowy) up to -25C and a green and blooming spring. I, like you, go out on the balcony of the apartment and look at the sky, both during the day and at night. these colors are beautiful, wonderful. I feel your emotions with you! Thanks for such a great video! p.s. the longest day in June is 16 hours and 33 minutes.
There was something so beautiful to me about how you highlighting the Polar Day season being a time when Grim and Christopher thrive and that being what you love about it. so nice to find gratitude in something because it lights up someone you love, but not necessarily because it lights you up (no puns intended lol).
This was so awesome! Thanks for sharing a year of Svalbard with us, I'm with you...the polar night seems the most beautiful and magical, but all the seasons are gorgeous in their own ways.

You are wonderful & adventurous people ❤ Oh, I wish every dog in this world was as loved as Grimm is🥹
Your Grim Nord VPN commercials are much better than "commercial" commercials. Granted, that may be because we are familiar with the entire scene...but, still.... 😁
Oooh, I remember the clips from the past. So much fun. What a wonderful look at the year, all in one video. It really showcased how Nature offers different kinds of beauty in every season!
This was beautiful Cecilia, thank you for taking the time to do this for us all. Pure Magic.
Its 30 degree celsius in jan 2024😔😔😔
I thrive in winter vacations in europe and uk
I am also Italian and winter girl. For this reason I moved from tuscany to trentino. 😁 It is not magical as Svalbard... But it is stunning beautiful anyway. 😍
Wow Cecilia you have outdone yourself this time this video is amazing! I loved how you did month by month season by season it really showed how beautiful Svalbard is all year round and of course we can’t forget Christoffer and Grim! Looking forward to your next one from Australia ❤
I’m soo glad you liked it! I wanted to do a recap/year compilation 😍❤️
OMGOSH! The orange hue of fall is magical!
I wanna have a conversation with you Above.🤦♂️🤷♀️,,,,
Cecília, happy New Year to you and Kristoffer and Grim!
Bless You, Kristopher and Grim.
Your positivity in such extreme weather conditions is truly inspiring ✨
Cecelia, I too love the winter. I am originally from Michigan and somehow I ended up in the desert! We’ve lived in Arizona for the last 24 years. You remind me of how much I love my home, Michigan will always be home. Thanks for taking us through the year once again. Your gratitude is contagious! ❤
What a beautiful compilation - something to treasure and send to friends who ask why I love watching your videos so much❤️❤️❤️
You are so kind 😍✨🧡
What a beautiful video! I can imagine it took days to edit, so thank you so much for doing this one Cecilia.
FANTASTIC. And the Oscar for best documentary short film goes to......Cecilia!!
Grim is so so so cute... I absolutely love how you incorporated him in the ads.... and seeing Christopher a lot more with you and grim makes my heart happy... the way you both treat grim makes me believe you would both be great parents....
Yay! Got here in the first 30 sec and first like
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Holy smokes I got a like from Cecilia ! Thank you! Love your content, it's so wholesome
I too love your polar nights. Being cozy for a minute is good for the soul. Lay low, drink tea, read books , write books, just stop for a minute. And then reset! You, Christopher, and Grimm are so comforting. Thank you for letting us see this life!
This was BEAUTIFUL thank you
I am almost 70 and, if I have any regrets, I wish I would have known of Svalbard as a young women, for I would have moved there to stay.
A beautiful reminder that time really does fly and no season lasts forever. Amazing video, Cecelia. Thank you.
I'm sure it was a lot of work going through old footage and picking out the best shots for this video. The colors you get to experience in the sky is amazing. Here's to another great year of peeping in on your life.
Wonderful 12 month tour of polar regions
This is the perfect video this morning as I walk my dog in fresh snow in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. Thank you for sharing! 💚💙💚💙💚
God bless.
This is magical... I'd love to be able to visit during the polar day, and then six months later in the polar night... I love a place of extremes.
Congratulations!!!!
It would be neat to see Grim experience a warm climate
This has to be one of the most beautiful videos I have ever seen. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. xx
I watch your videos but rarely comment however I needed to this time as this video is just spectacular. I can only imagine the time it took to put this video together. It’s truly beautiful
Agreed. It was truly beautiful to watch.
The beauty of these landscapes is overwhelming!
Absolutely enjoyed the style of this video!! One of your best!❤
Yay! Thank you! ❤️
Excellent vlog.
Beautiful town and island. Visited end of july and look forward to coming back late March and April for the light and white snow scapes. You are truly blessed to be living in a paradise
Cecilia, i love that you are such a full on, hi energy person yet you can produce half an hour of soul soothing, calm video ❤
This was gorgeous and Svalbard tourism should be grateful to you!
I really enjoy this recap of last year and the seasons. Gorgeous views indeed. I think late april into May is my favorite. Followed by late August in your area. But i think October could be the best for pictures and night-time sky. Thanks for sharing!!
I wanna have a conversation with you Above.🤦♂️🤷♀️,,,,
Incredibly beautiful video and editing. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous part of the world. 🤍
I love your videos!! I also appreciate the calming music that is not blaring like so my creators!
I LOVE seeing and hearing your videos, Cecilia!! Soooo beautiful. USA
Masterfully edited & great storytelling. Always enjoy each and every video.
Such a beautiful place! And thank you for sharing with us a month by month glimpse into your world!
Loved this video. It's like taking a year long vacation. The season colors are amazing. I just love your channel. It's so uplifting.❤
You are such a wonderful storyteller! Every vlog is visually stunning, and I long for a place I've never known. I am grateful to you for sharing your life with us. And Grimm loving The Good Wife was a real treat! Blessings!
