What if it still does nothing, with a 1 year old premium battery? I've tried everything mentioned in the owner's manual. Eve replaced the battery in the FOB, in the correct orientation.
This only works if the FOB battery is weak or dead. The cause for most is a faulty ACM which drains the 12v battery. Try removing fuse 79 under glove compartment to power down the acm and place it back. Ford needs to recall those acm's.

At one point I thought I had the problem isolated. Some other people that have this vehicle that were having the same problem removed the fuse that controlled the audio system and their car worked again. This worked for me for just under a month, then it was deadsville again! At one point I was able to charge the 12V battery by connecting a charger to the contact terminals under the hood. I am going to try this today when I get home, but I have a feeling I will have the same problem after I cut the car off. :(. Question is, do I need to replace the LV battery? I've heard a few times that there's a safety cutout for the LV battery that prevents it from deep discharging. Fantastic -- thanks so much! I have the 5-button fob with the key inside, and on 2016 C-Max Energi, and this did the trick. I just slid the fob into the groove and held it there, narrow side down, and hit start with my foot on the brake. Then I went for a long drive -- hope this charges up the 12V battery.

I live in Florida so I assume that the life of these 12 volt batteries are 4-5 years on these hybrids. Also the hybrid LION batteries for electric motor use what is the normal level should you see the indicator for those batteries to be at about 1/2 to 2/3rds. Sometimes some mornings after overnight parking in the morning the engine kicks on to start no silent start only when I use if for a few short trips to the grocery store and shopping I notice the LION battery level stays 1/2 and usually silent starts. Should I be a little concern of some battery drain over night on the Hybrid batteries? thanks! Paul
I have the same car and the 12vt battery issues have been awful since day 1. This car is very sensitive to voltage change and will not start a lower voltages. Some dumb ass engineer thought it was a good idea to have 22 lights go on when you open a door. If you leave doors open it takes 30 minutes for the car to shut off everything and save the battery. I put a new battery in every 2 years and jump start it a lot because i don;t drive for hours at a time. This is a common issue with lots of hybrid and EV cars. Stupid engineering
I have tried this trick several times since seeing your video and it is not working. I think vehicle will definitely need a jump. You stated that your battery has 50 to 70 life in it so I am assuming that's how you got it to work. So in my case, as mentioned, I may have less battery power so I purchased a jump starter kit $79 bucks. As of now, the stater is charging. I'm feeling twitterpated for having cracked an electrical problem with my Ford CMax Energi plug-in hybrid. Yes, I was a dope to buy another of Detroit's red haired step vehicles, stuff they have to make to meet the standards but they resent having to do it and abandon it the microsecond after a Republican is in the White House. For years, it's been plagued with this problem. Symptoms: 1. Goes for more than a year ok, and then radio stops working. 2. While it's parked, a continuous load on 12 volt battery makes it go dead. See, in addition to having a high voltage battery for the electric drive motor, it still has a conventional 12 volt battery to run all the gee gaws and whats its, and when the 12 volt battery goes dead, it's totally dead in the water. These vehicles today don't have a single mechanical switch on them. It's all touch screens and stuff, which are all dead as a nit when the 12 volt battery goes dead. The only thing for it is to jump start the 12 volt battery and then replace the battery, because once deep discharged, it's no good anymore. So to keep this from happening, I put on a 12 volt charger to keep the 12 volt battery from going dead. I even rigged up a cord to outside the front grill and put a connector on it so I can plug in the 12 volt charger without having to pop the hood. So it had been going along many months until one day, sure enough, the mystery load showed up, a constant 1.11 Amps. The clue about the radio stopped working was key. I took out the fuse for the radio and the 12 volt battery charger output current dropped to zero. So at least that isolates the problem. And, I can leave out that fuse for the time being and still have reliable transportation. The downside is I can't listen to my beloved NPR anymore..Hopefully, Ford will have fixed the glitch - hah! yeah right - and it'll just be a matter of replacing the radio module. My incompetent staff impeded me at every turn, and yet, through the use of geometric logic, I deduced the existence of a duplicate key by which the frozen strawberries had been stolen. (What movie is that from?)
You are having a Parasitic load draining the 12v when you put in park and walk away. You need to replace the ACM. Or else you will need a new battery soon
@@shwe5359 I believe it stands for Audio Control Module? I could very well be wrong, but basically your infotainment system is draining the battery while the car is off.
I have had the problem of the infotainment system getting stuck on when I turn the car off. Symptoms include loss of control of any knobs for infotainment like power, volume up and down, channel change. Or if radio is playing when you turn car off and open the door it keeps playing and the screen stays on. This will drain the 12 volt battery. The solution is to reboot infotainment by pulling the fuse which is under the dash on passenger side. Wait a minute or two then reinsert. Do this with car "on". Also possible to restart the car by reenergizing the computer by 12 volt jump
In fairness, the trick does work, but not for my particular scenario. I had a 5 year old dead 12v battery. I replaced it and so far the car is running fine.

(What movie is that from?)
my door is lock and I can't get into my lock car
You are having a Parasitic load draining the 12v when you put in park and walk away. You need to replace the ACM. Or else you will need a new battery soon
What does ACM stand for?
I tried this.and it won't start
Its works thanks
Please explain where you're at on the back of wheel maybe draw it or something
A new key fob is around$200 plus
If your fob is dead, this won't work, making you think you have a different problem.
Thank you soooo much🤦🏽♀️
That's interesting.
Do you drink a lot of coffee and why so out of breath?
Did not work for me, unfortunately.
In fairness, the trick does work, but not for my particular scenario. I had a 5 year old dead 12v battery. I replaced it and so far the car is running fine.
It didn't work
