    Great job Kris! At first I thought you were going to do a holdout when you traced the couch, but what you did was more versatile! But I learned that your way of making a plane in front of the camera and knifing it to death is a good way to make a holdout plane! Thank you sir! (and btw, I bamboozle those kitchens all the time in my models, so don't feel bad chopping them up!)

      Ah yes, i did think about holdout but being able to "move" the photo was super handy haha
      Haha i'm glad the Kitchens work for you! We should definitely add a few more to the collection :P

    Awesome as always, Kris. Can you try it on exterior scene next time? Like changing the landscape area, adding a water feature or something. Thank you!

      This is a good idea for sure! I don't have a garden or anything in my apartment. Maybe I can get my sister to send me a photo of her garden so I can "fix it" haha

    Great info, thanks, Kris. Now I just need to tell my clients to clean out their rooms before I come in 😁
    Btw. if you know the room's dimensions you can add a reference distance in fspy and it should scale everything correctly for import, saves you the step with the edge.

      Wow thanks for the info! I should have realised that. Very helpful thank you.
      But yeah the downside is needing a clear room but I also think generative fill in Photoshop should be able to remove a lot of furniture pretty well from an image!

    you can just simply measure the room sise with the "Reference Distance" in Fspy and then choose the axis you want to use, i usually use "along with the z axis" and set it from floor to the ceiling which is 2.4 meter and so when i import it into blender everything would be in the right size.

    You could also run your image texture of the room through the emission instead of the base color. So you dont need to add lights, and youre getting your reflections within your cg elements.

    • @imeshh
      @imeshh  5 месяцев назад

      that might be a little bit difficult with getting realistic shadows onto the emission objects though

    • @Aleczanderm
      @Aleczanderm 5 месяцев назад

      That’s true. Cg tends to be Pandora’s box, when aiming for realism. I use the camera project addon by Nathan Vegdahl from the blender foundation for projection.

    Thank you for this amazing present!!!
    Is it possible to make similar video with 360 pano image?
    There no any good samples with virtual staging 😢

    • @imeshh
      @imeshh  5 месяцев назад +1

      This is a very interesting question. I imagine if you add the 360 pano into the environment image or onto a sphere it should make all the lights appear straight from the perspective of the camera. You may then be able to build the walls up. Interesting for sure!

    • @imeshh
      @imeshh  5 месяцев назад +1

      This shouldn't make much difference becuase I've added area lights to light the scene rather than an environment light

  • @ivancuetowicq
    @ivancuetowicq 5 месяцев назад

    Ok really amazing, but where are the reflections of the new furniture on the floor? the lack of reflections kills the realism

    • @imeshh
      @imeshh  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah I totally get you there. The reflections in the shadow catcher didn't push through enough. I think a shadow catcher pass in the compositor should be able to bring that out! I'll try that for v2 :)
