I'm lucky enough to own 3 of Giles' photos, truly beautiful. My parents and I went into your shop when we were in Ireland. The camera (nothing fancy) I had at the time, I could switch to black and white. So when we went to the Cliffs of Moher, inspired by Giles, I took a few pictures in black and white, and they were really pretty. For my Dad's 70th birthday, I ordered a photo of the Cliffs of Moher. It was the one place on our trip he really wanted to go to. Catherine was nice enough to help me with the order online and had Giles sign it as well.
I love how you were realistic with your creative juice and never repressed them despite the impatience to be a painter or an artist .You still found a medium that suits you .😊
The West Coast of Ireland wow! Nice one Giles and Thank you for showing us around, and yes I have been saying it for years One Camera and One Lens.......
Really nice video, I too started with a K1000 ! so many did back in the day great camera! When I think of the idea one camera one lens I think of a prime not a super zoom like in this video. I'd enjoy hearing why a superzoom and not a prime?
Fabulous video, I love black and white, being brought up watching old films it just seems natural, I would love to know the lens you love to grab most.
I used my Pentax daily for about a decade. It was my aunts and she let me have it. It started my journey into photography. It is a camera and those lenses that I would NEVER sell.
For many years I used one camera and one lens then technology changed to digital and it became many cameras and many lenses it’s just my job to accommodate clients with new technology !
One Camera - One Lens but what camera and what lens? You began shooting 35mm film but how are you doing your B&W photography now, if you please? Digital I think considering the print sizes you offer. I shoot predominantly the Nikon 35mm f/1.4. Harkens back to the days of my youth as a newspaper photographer when no lens had a 1.4 aperture. So today - 2024 - it's a Nikon D850, the 35mm mentioned earlier and the Nikon 105mm micro in a small shoulder bag. I enjoy B&W images also. Thanks for sharing. I like your gallery photos also.
My business partner, Nic and I filmed the interview and studio shots. Our company is Lost Studios in Kinsale, Ireland. The outdoor stuff was older footage shot by Jakub Walutek. We used an Ursa mini pro G2 & a Pocket Cam Pro 6k for the interviews paired with sigma lenses. Not sure what Jakub was using. Hope this helps :)
‘Best job in the world’, I know the feeling even after 40 years, I still think so too.
How nice it is to see a real photographer on RUclips !
One camera, one lens, and a car. Spent 7 years living in Cork and travelling about the west coast. Splendid stuff.
I stayed at your guesthouse last October with my wife and loved being surrounded by your work. Truly beautiful stuff.
Love your work Giles! Your success has been deservedly earned.
Watched this and then looked up at a framed Giles Norman piece I have hanging on my wall 😊 His B&W photography inspires my own work 📷
Thank you for the introduction to your work. Absolutely love it.
Lovely video, very inspiring.
Love everything about this.
Thank you for the introduction Giles, I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work!
Beautiful work and great presentation. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

That is lovely, wholesome, honest, interesting work. (Both the photography and the documentary/videography.)
Respect from Malaysia 🎉
¡¡¡MAGNÍFICO TRABAJO...!!!
GRACIAS POR LA CLASE MAGISTRAL, GILES.
SALUDOS DESDE ESPAÑA.
NANO.
Just one camera and a 24-600 😂 seriously though some lovely shots on the website. 2 Sheep’s a cracker 👍
Great piece on a fantastic guy.
This video is beautiful

My wife and I also stayed at your guest house in Kinsale. Looking forward to going back this year.

yeah, although the "one lens" might be a zoom

My wife and I visited your store and bought one of your photographs. We love it!

THIS IS THE DREAM
Wonderful work. So glad I found this video.

So true
No tripod? Maybe I’m too old but I can’t create a good landscape without my sturdy tripod.

Wonderful images and photographer! But one zoom lens is more than one lens... 😉
Wonderful. What is the lens? Thank you
Wow! Glad that I stumbled across your work, Giles! Who shot this video for you? They did a great job.
Hey! I work at Lost Studios, the video production company in Kinsale that made this video. Just thought I’d answer your question! :)
What is that one lense referred to ??? Does anyone know?
What camera, and what lens?😅
My thoughts exactly lol, love the vid though
It was as a Nikon D850 and a Nikon 28-300 a few years ago , not sure if that has changed
Cool video, looks like 28 to 300 on a D850 to me. I keep my 28-300 on a D700 always to hand, never stuck it on the D850 🧐,
Maybe the one you already have? I use the Sony RX10iv which is a 24 to 600 lens.
I shoot with a Practika and 50m Gorlitz😊
What equipment was the interview itself filmed using? And who did the filming?

What lens?
It looks like a zoom Lens, that I will not call "one lens", it is much more inspiring to use a prime Lens !
Great video, but I was immediately looking for this comment! That's a 28-300 or something similar, not really the true meaning of 'one lens'
