Same, still have my original game and case etc. Loved the d'n'b soundtrack, just a super cool game. Shame it wasn't better known. Voice acting wasn't too bad either. Loved the atmosphere and the design of it, everything felt pretty desolate and creepy.
I remember playjng a demo disc of this game in about 2000 when i was on my summer holidays. It did feel like a bit of a last hurrah for the PS1, but I was impressed with the performance the designers were able to extract from the PS1 hardware. This game deserved to be made for the PS2.
You know what this game reminded me of? Terminator. Same atmosphere, colours, it was as bleak and hopeless as T1 and 2 future scenes. Even the Resistance guys are all in grey. God I love this game, still have the disc
Great review man, I remember this getting released but I never had the chance to pick it up. I think this looks like something that I'd definitely enjoy so I'll try and grab a copy if I come across one.
An old love, yes it comes with some cons but the pros overshadow those by a great margin, its been too long since i played this (semi-wearing nostaglia glasses) but seeing footage after all these years i have no doubt i will enjoy it all the same as back in the day.
Nice one mate, really enjoyed this period of the PSone where there were some intelligent shooters that made use of the environments/locations for more than just cover and background detail. C12 wasn't as good as Syphon Filter, but really enjoyed it nevertheless - the hard bits were a turn off though as you mentioned :)
It was one of the first games I ever played and a couple months ago I came accross a copy of it and bought it im just now playing it after all these years its great and I use the invincibilty cheat code lolol
I played the demo disc and loved this game. I bought it and loved it even more. I can't believe this game had a poor reception. Syphon Filter was a completely different game and it sucks that it's compared to that game.
Wild 9 and Pandemonium 's b-d child mixed with Syphon Filter mixed with the Fifth Element for the Sony PS1.... not that there is anything wrong with that combination 😅 !
I remember being interested in this game, but also being distracted by the new shiny PS2. I think I need to come back to it now, though. Also, the idea that 10 hours is short for a PS1 game makes me feel old * looks over at Resident Evil 1, 2, and 3, and Metal Gear Solid *
It launched at a poor time, I think it was maybe months after the PS2 launched! Ah, at least RE you replayed multiple times to get more out of it. I think C12 was one and done.
When did I get a new version for this c12 game..? Please create a new version. I love this game since 16 years ago and I ended it for 1 month in same time.. i also played repeatedly...
Syphon Filter and C-12 are both games from Sony Computer Entertainment SCE. In 2000 Sony aquired Bend studio as well. So that is why these two games use the same mechanics. So technically it is not stolen, it is just re-used in a different game. Until this day they still use those same techniques. Just like Uncharted and Ghost of Tsushima share the same climbing mechanics. througout the years, this is not something uncommon.
Actually Syphon Filter is made by SCE Bend and C-12 by SCE Studio Cambridge, the same devs of Medievil, in fact this game is very similar to Medievil and I think uses the same engine
Ah man my childhood game
Happy to help stir some nostalgia :D
Loved this game as a kid but it also terrified me
Some of the enemy designs and environments are unsettling!
a rare ps1 gem , I still own the disk .i still play from time to time

c12 need a remake in ps5
Been trying to remember this game forever. When I bought the small PSX it came with a demo disc of this game.
One of my favourites, and the soundtrack is a blast.

Can definitely see that, great films to borrow from!
Did you notice that one of the weapon models is almost an exact replica of the plasma rifle from t2
My very first Playstation 1 game
Definitely think a refined sequel could have had potential
Off brand terminator but man it was a blast. I'm gonna play through it again.
Got a combo deal at a supermarket in my country, it contained both Medievil and this game for a relatively cheap price.
There is an invincibilty cheat code thats what I use I put it on so it would stop shifting me back to the main menu when id die

Thank you :)
The good news is that this is one of the cheapest first-party PS1 games you can get atm. Think my copy wasn't even 4 quid.
@@Steadysphere It might be cheaper than a copy of Martian Gothic for the Sony PS1 console... at least in my honest opinion 🤠.
I remember playing a demo of this game and loving i might play the full game it's very underrated!
so I didn't fever-dreamed up this game, after all (along with "silent bomber")... but I only had the demo, tho'
I had the same thing with the PS1 Ghost in the Shell, honestly took me years to find the name of that game lol
An old love, yes it comes with some cons but the pros overshadow those by a great margin, its been too long since i played this (semi-wearing nostaglia glasses) but seeing footage after all these years i have no doubt i will enjoy it all the same as back in the day.
I remeber playing the demo for this on a demo disk, played it a lot
Seems you aren't alone there!
I loved this game even though I found it very hard, I loved the design of the drop ship in the intro!
Play duke nukem land of the babes. Same kind of world and vibe
@@ifaq871 I played that too. I was just 9 years old back then lol
Cool review. I'm currently playing through this game for the first time in an advanced PS1 emulator. It's pretty good so far.
Thanks! Definitely a bit overlooked at the time
A proto Infamous, Spiderman, early Deus-Ex style cybernetic upgrades or Prototype like video game... now I have truly seen everything ?!
Oh man I remember playing that demo disc. What an excellent level design for it's time

It's definitely a cool game, even if the flaws are noticeable. A nice one-off game indeed.

Ya know, I don't see the similarities to Syphon Filter, but maybe that's just me.
Definitely an enjoyable game, though. Worth the purchase.
The reason I find this game is it includes in the Platinum games list, I want cover it as well as the others on the list for my channel
I used to play this and metal gear solid without a memory card. My mum wouldn't buy me a memory card. I used to leave my PlayStation on for days.
That's crazy bud!

i agree a remake would be awesome
Need a remake
i Agree with you. i hope sony makes this game into ps4 or ps5 consule. that would be nice.
so much memories 😊
Man i cheated so hard when this game got in my sweaty preteen hands.
Can anyone tell me why were they so many spores to collect that wouldn't be used??
Definitely one of my top 10 favourites from ps1
Would have love to see a sequel!
@@Steadysphere maybe remaster would be great
@@Steadysphere that would be great! would bring back that nostalgic feeling
Вот раньше были игры,не то что сейчас!

This game is a solid 8.2
is the best game i ever seen in ps1
Huh, cool!
greatest game ever
Duke Nukem 3D plus Land of the Babes... that's what C-12 Final Resistance reminds me off -- that and maybe Unreal Tournament plus Broken Helix.
