The monument is called the Ninoy Aquino Monument. It is a bronze statue built in honor of the late senator Benigno S. Aquino Jr. depicting the moment of his assassination, as he was escorted off the plane by two military soldiers upon his arrival from exile. Ninoy protested the social injustices committed during the martial law years and publicly attacked Marcos’ regime. He was assassinated in 1983 at the Manila International Airport. The marker reads:
    “NINOY”
    Benigno S. Aquino, Jr.
    Nov. 27, 1932 - August 21, 1983
    Reading his annihilation
In the eyes of his military escorts,
He yet followed them to certain death,
    Answering his own question:
“Is the Filipino worth dying for?”
    By showing how a man
    Can die for his people
He inspired them to stand up
    And fight for their freedom.

Just discovered you recently on RUclips. I haven’t been back home to the Philippines in 10 years so I’m vicariously enjoying your videos and they make me homesick. I’m midway through this particular video in Greenbelt and you just passed by Shake Shack. Just a slight correction when you said they don’t have them in the UK, there are several Shake Shacks in London. I’ve been visiting London for the past few years both for business and pleasure. Ok, will continue to watch.

Harry, go to big shops in Manila and interact with people by bargaining stuff. It's fun and you will meet a lot of people and boost your channel.
The name of the shop is called GREENHILLS AND THE OTHER IS DIVISORIA.
Just be aware if the price is 1000 pesos, counter it 300 and go up slowly. But make sure you are always ready to leave the negotiations.

Amazingly Beautiful Video Harry. Ayala is the Commercial Business District of Makati
I love the Greenbelt Malls Garden it's very Beautiful. The Garden is surrounded by Greenbelt Malls 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. When ever I go to Makati I use to visit the Greenbelt Malls. I love to watch a movie there specially the 4D cinema. That area is interconnected with all the Malls, it started from Greenbelt Malls 1 to 5 connected by a footbridge going to Landmarks Department Stores connected to Glorieta Mall and also connected to SM Mall. It's a one FULL day shopping on that area if you will visit all the Malls shops .

Hi Harry. it's nice to know you enjoyed your walking tour of Makati. I believe the inter-connected mall complex in Makati comprised of The Greenbelt (1 through 5), The Landmark (4 or 5 floors), Glorietta (also 1 trhougth 5), Rustans and SM Ayala (5 floors) in terms of floor area may be in the largest in the Philippines although the SM Mall of Asia, Ayala Malls at Manila Bay, SM Megamall and SM North EDSA may be close in terms of size. Makati also features Saturday and Sunday open markets in Salceo and Legazpi Villages, respectively. Just FYI, Makati has always been the enclave of the "old rich" and maybe the richest families (Filipinos and expats) residing in posh and exclusive areas including North and South Forbes, and the villages of Dasmarinas, Urdaneta, Bel Air and San Lorenzo. Makati is still the financial abd business capital of the Philippines although more and more businesses are setting up in BGC which used to be part of Makati, and still being contested in the courts with the city of Taquig. I hope your few weeks travel around the country have been pleasant and rewarding. Regards from Tampa Bay in presently steaming sunshine state in the US of A!

Oh goodness. I grew up going to this mall, even when it was only one building, which is now called "Greenbelt 1". We'd go get school supplies at National Bookstore, and my mom's main bank branch is the BPI right beside it. I loved going to the McDonalds in Greenbelt because of the Playplace and had numerous birthdays there as a kid. Around 9-10 years old, Greenbelt 2 was opened and then Greenbelt 3 followed suite. I think Greenbelt 4 and 5 were built when I lived in the US already. My family used to go to church there and also Don Bosco, since it's near our house. We watched our movies there and in Glorietta. And my mom and I spent a lot of time after school in Deli France(now Café France), Via Mare, and Figaro café(My fav pastry was _sansrival_ which pairs perfectly with coffee). We also always had dinner at Italiannis because my mom loves pasta lol Every time I visit the Philippines, I always make sure to stop by Greenbelt to eat, window shop, walk around, and people watch. I have so many memories at Greenbelt, it was basically like my second home when I was a kid. Thanks for sharing your experience!

just to give more clarity re:jeepneys. originally, yes, they were 'remnants' that have been converted into public transport. but the ones you're seeing now are made from scratch (obv., except for the engines). hope to see you back Harry. i started binge-watching your older vlogs as well.

Also go to Baguio city if you love nature and talk to the tribes there! Baguio city is the summer capital of the Philippines located on top of a mountain cooler temperature and it’s cold at night

You can tell if Harry liked his food if he stops for a bit after a bite, then few seconds of silence, then he smiles a bit, and he says, Mmmmm. 🤤

Thank you for showing Makati. It's not a common place that gets featured from the vlogs I've seen so far. I will visit Makati when I go visit the Philippines because of your video.

When you come back next time you must visit Bicol there are tons of nice places that you can also enjoy. That haven't been so explored by vloggers. There's the mayon Volcano, AtV in Albay. Caramoan Island, Atulayan Island and of course Sorsogon and Legaspi. Sorsogon as well. If you like water boarding There's Pili Camarines Sur wakeboarding. The Bicol Region is on the opposite of where you've been ( Bicol is in tye South Luzon) part of the Philippines. Hope you can go and make Bicolanos proud. Food ,they are famois for Bicol express, Laing which is taro leaves with coconut milk and many more. Ciao till next time.

I agree. He should also see Mayon Volcano and the other tourist spots there. And also go to Calaguas Island there in Bicol which is almost like Boracay minus the crowd and the establishments.
